Food / What's your favorite Polish beer? [870]

Well i hope we agree that our beer is way out in front. As for LT beer. They have a very big range of beers and with a choice as large as theirs you'll always find one you like.

I dont know how you travelled but I suspect it was to the tourist areas. Many tourist areas suffer from a lack of range that locals demand. As a commercial traveller I was mainly going to non touristy places and it allowed me to try some better food and some better beer and get a real sense of what those places were really like.

As for LV and RO, well I was impressed with what I tried. O.k so green ursus was not so good but I thought Gold was a very nice beer that compared well to anything at home(then Poland)

Zywiec is o.k but there are many in PL which are just as good. There are 2 types of Tyskie whereI lived and they were better than Zywiec for me.Brok had had some great stuff too,but some of the smaller breweries knocked them for six.Polish beer was much better before the likes of carlsberg started buying up the small firms and amalgamating them. When EB went and Kaper was moved out of Gdansk it was a bad thing for Polish brewing. Its going the way it is here in the U.k

Where i came from it was always a Whitbread or Devenish situation. Now that the former owns the latter all is now lost.

I AM NOT AN ALCOHOLIC-HICUP!

As a wagon driver I got to try them all. Special likes Kaper Krolewski from Gdansk,Jablonowo extra mocne(or something like that-blows your head off!!)

Didnt like lech much-syrupy, and hated Strzrelec in Piotrkow. Used to drink Janusz until the found out that rewinski had simply relabeled bottled Zywiec with his own name-only in Poland hey!!EB was good stuff when it was still around too.

Best beer though is definetly British
Our Ales are fantastic and 80 shilling in Scotland was superb,Youngs Oatmeal Stout-heaven.Next comes Lithuania, wow what a choice of flavours, Romania-gold Ursus is great, and Latvia do a good lager aswell.
