Life / Retiring in Poland [39]

I am thinking of retiring in Poland.
I was born in Poland, I speak Polish and have a Pesel number.
Is this a good or bad idea and why?
I appreciate your input.

Law / Investors/Entrepreneurs.. Steer Clear of Poland. [77]

Teacher,
What is amazing to me that you are still living in Poland. If I did not like living in a country and I would just leave. But you are still live there and you continue to post negative posts about Poland and Poles. Here are some of your past negative posts:

UK, Ireland / Homeless Poles living on barbecued rats and alcoholic handwash? [62]

I remember reading, in this forum, that Poles living in England were also eating swans and ducks in the parks. Eventually, the homeless Poles with start eating Brits. The Brits are very gullible and they look like turkeys. :)

Love / Need Advice: I have fallen in love with a Polish woman... [65]

The husband in Poland would not work and he would not look after the children thats why they came over to England. All he thinks about is himself. She has had to do everything for the family with out any help from him .

And now, you are justifying your actions.

Do you have any honor?

News / Poland - the least liked German neighbour. [210]

And be honest and objective here....a more "german" Europe wouldn't be a bad thing. It would be more stable and run smoothly without your english/american bubble-economy philosophies!

I am not happy to bring forth the old wounds, nor do I wish to offend the decent small percentage of German population, but "German Europe" was already tried during WWII.

News / Poland - the least liked German neighbour. [210]

According to the recent Emnid poll, conducted between 21st and 23rd April,
of all the Germany's neighbours, Poland is the least liked by German citizens.

German theatre about Poles.Polnische Wirtschaft(polish economy).

I was always under impression that Germans were very rich until I visited Berlin last year, spent a week there, and realized that my impression was erroneous. At the central train station in Berlin, I observed a German collecting plastic soda bottles from trashcans. I observed the same thing in one of the Berlin’s parks. I am sure that what I observed is not reflective of a total German society. I also noticed that Germans did not dress much better than Poles. Finally, I would like to add, that if a pole was taken, it would real that Poles probably have simular view about Germans as Germans have about Poles. Except, Poles are more forgiving, less rigid and mechanical, more understanding and caring, etc.

Love / Need Advice: I have fallen in love with a Polish woman... [65]

I have asked her to get divorced and live with me but she is catholic and cannot make a decision

She is a catholic and can’t get divorced, but she it is ok for her to be an adulterous.
The best solution to your problems, since she can’t get divorced, is for you to move with her and her husband, and her husband and you can share her.

Love / How do I make a Polish girl cry? [107]

How do I make a Polish girl cry? My new Polish girlfriend (who, by the way, is named Kasia, is Catholic, smokes cigarettes and likes all things American), is always upbeat and cheerful. This is highly annoying. I've tried everything to upset her, but nothing seems to work. Help?!

Yes.
Screw around with her and she will leave you one day.
Then you will be asking this forum how you can stop crying. :)

Travel / Visiting - Mazury? what else besides the obvious? [15]

It's well visited by Germans

You are correct about the Germans. The last time I visited Elk, Poland, in 2008, I stayed in a hostel/B&B where Germans were also staying. The owner of the hostel remarked to me and to one of the Germans that we both were born in Elk and we are citizens of different counties.

Language / what's the difference between... "spierdalaj" vs "wypierdalaj" [6]

it should be
"spierdalaj" and "wypierdalaj"

the word wpierdalaj also exists. it means (you implied) f...k devour (as in food)
where spierdalaj means (you implied) get the f...k away.
the word wypierdalaj means (you implied) get the f...k out.

Real Estate / Making an offer for Polish houses [30]

Exercise some common sense.
Check what similar properties sold for during the last six months.
Check how much it would cost you to build a similar property.
Check to see if the number of sales and the sales prices are doing down, up or sideways.
Decide what would be a reasonable price to pay for the property and how long are you going to say in the property. Only them make a decision. Property prices are determined by a supply and demand. Sometime, both are out of balance. It is possible, even in Poland, for home prices to go down. The economic problems in Europe, with Greece, Spain, etc., might adversely affect Poland; since, the country does not exist in a vacuum.
