Love / DO POLISH MEN DATE OLDER WOMEN? [169]

L. Honestly, I think it all boils down to the answer to two questions.
Can you forgive what he did?
Can you trust him again?

If yes, then i'd say you are the strong one, if not, then it would probably save you pain and heartache in the long run to say goodbye sooner rather than later.

Just my 0.02€

Good luck whatever. :)

History / Norman Davies - the Brit who loves Poland and becomes one of Us [250]

Your thick

Probably you're right. :) (Notice the spelling Riff it's a contraction of you and are. Just a little tip :) ) There is after all no way I could compete with such a mental giant as yourself.

Still, here in my own little backward world, it's oh so very boring. :(
No little green men come to visit me, god doesn't want to put me in a headlock and tell me how much he loves me and no, i've never sat down and really tried to get excited about finding predictions about the lottery numbers in a very old book.

Oh, how I wish I was you, will you be my bff. purrrleeeease. :)

BuildaFatOne

Thank you that man!

Before you go spouting the whole bible code BS Riff. Please remember that a man who was less than impressed with the bible codes, (i forget his name sadly) attempted the same thing using equidistant letter sequencing with Moby Dick and shock horror, found a code about Martin Luther King's assasination, also the same Rabin message that appeared in the bible too.

Btw, for those still skeptical amongst us, they also found a prediction of 9/11 in the complete works of Vanilla Ice.

Robert Van Winkel, a true prophet of our time, peace be upon him. :)

If there was a problem yo I'll solve it, check out the hook while DJ revolves it.

History / Kosciuszko Squadron - why don't they bring it back? [45]

repeat please... :)

Sorry, just a BoB reference. :) I've always been mightily impressed by the Poles, in general and specifically with relation to the BoB. The movie I keep banging on about Dark Blue World shows the Czech involvement with the RAF but I do agree that the Polish contribution needs to be covered a bit more in depth.

I'll look into getting that book. Hope there is a German translation floating around, as I doubt I'll find the English version here.

I also do hope that you're right about the movie. If done properly, it could be fantastic.

Thanks for the links too. Interesting stuff.

Anyway, stop all that polish...chit chat and steer 3-1-0 :)

you say God does not exist that means he does not exist.

Oh boy, today's the day, isn't it! Omm, etc God give me strength.

Please do not put words into my mouth. :) Thanks.

The difference between you and me sunshine, is that I do not ram my god damn beliefs (THAT IS ALL THEY ARE!) down other people's throats.

I have my own ideas BUT I am happy to accept that I may not be right.

You however are convinced that you are right and everyone else, that does not agree 100% with you is wrong. Fullstop, end of story.
That is extremism at worst, evangelicalism at best.

You claim you were wrestling with god. Fine you're welcome to that belief.
Other people have exactly the same "experience" as you discribed; the whole bright light, floating off the bed, being manhandled but say they're abducted by aliens instead.

I assume, going on your past form, you'd say they're poor deluded fools as there are no little green men. But then in the next breath claim you were 100% physically being pinned to the deck by an embodiment of someone who alledgedly lived 2000 years ago.

If you aren't prepared to be a bit flexible and admit, there is a slight chance you are wrong, then you are discrediting yourself. (THough you do that everytime you resort to personal insults, as I say very christian of you.

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these [...] Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. [...] And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

Your mileage may vary. :)

Hey Clown, keep your parakeet brain in a little box. Your a silly, silly child. Can you spiritually mature ? No need to reply.

Ahh, wonderful. Thank you for showing us all your true colours. It's amazing that once you cannot argue rationally, you resort to the only remaining option in your arsenal of persuasion. Insults. :)

Very Christian of you! :) Keep on turning that other cheek. :)

Did it get locked? I never noticed. Ah, that explains it then.

You mean you're actually claiming that you physically wrestled with a character from a 3000 year old compilation book?

I wrestled with God and I am certain of it.

So, it's just your belief then?

I once met Bigfoot, he showed me his hideout in the middle of the forests in California and we laughed and joked about the time he got captured on camera over grilled vennison. He apparently, was very annoyed at being called a female in the local press and he has no way of refuting it, as he doesn't want to end up in a zoo. Poor fella. :)

You have to believe this story because it is true and I am convinced of it.

Of course I have no real world proof and the fact I sound like a stark raving looney does not diminish the validity of my claim. I know it for certain. :) So if you don't believe me and you say there is no Bigfoot, you're a complete and utter fool. :)

Thanks for your reply, content notwithstanding. :)

Please don't reply further, it's obvious we'll never agree, so it's probably best to let you just carry on in your beliefs. Besides, this thread is a good one, we don't want to hijack it now do we. :)

Sure? I heard he resigned because of a slight problem about his request for the dismissal of Antoni Macierewicz.

Life / Is the word "Polack"rascist? [185]

Culturally I'm American but by birth a Pole.

As i'm sitting here typing this, I have this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that for some unknown reason, i'm really going to regret asking this question, but, I really do have to know. (bin Topfgucker)

Where you were actually born? Not Hospital/street name personal, country will do. :)

There is also a valid answer to the question. See post #42.

Self praise is no recommendation mate. :)

It's not condemnation, more presupposition.
It presupposes that they do steal, but you want to know how much they steal. Like "do you still have sex wth your dog..."

Still, agree with you mate:

Rubbish question.

Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

He was told by many ppl that when he comes to PL, he must be very very cautious, because in PL ppl steal a lot, espacially if someone is a foreigner.

That is a really deeply ingrained prejudice in German speaking countries sadly, in my experience.
I told some people I knew I had a Polish gf and the initial response was always one of pity/concern for me. (If I went to PL with her, my car wouldn't be in my possession long, she's probably just after money then they'd launch into anecdotes about the trouble with Poles etc)

Regularly on German tv there are slurs against the poles, they seem to be the German equivalent of the Englishman's Welshman.

Worst offender? Oliver Pocher. My ex used to spit if he even appeared on the tv.

UK, Ireland / Polish Beer In The UK [98]

so please remind me, what it was.

hehe It was Zipfer, but that's just good because it's cheap. :) For me, the best is Stiegl Zwickl.

German wise, i'm a traditionalist, love Erdinger Weissbier in Bayern daheim, in der Welt zu Hause etc etc

Honestly never tried Raderberger (Spelling was spot on!) Wroclaw, it's a bitter and i've always struggled with them...

Going back on topic and showing my ignorance. Do poles do wheat beers? If yes, what's a good one to try?

Promise not to take this too far off topic, just want to ask M what her favourite German/Austrian beer is? Please don't say Ottakringer :)

As for polish beers, got to be honest and say i've never tried one.
