Travel / 90 day in, 1 day out rule - the rule allowing to stay in Poland without penalty [3]

As some people may know, USA citizens, and some other nations' citizens, are allowed to stay in Poland indefinitely, so long as that foreign citizen leaves Poland once every 90 days for 1 day.

My question is about clarification on this 1 day out rule.

For example....

If I leave on a Tuesday, can I return on the next day Wednesday?

Or...

If I leave on a Tuesday, must I return at earliest Thursday?

In other words, does "1 day out" mean out for any single day, then back the next day? Or does it mean be out for at least 1 full day?

Thank you for your attention in this matter.
