UK, Ireland / Many Polish in England don't study or work. How is it possible? [39]

Why is it strange?? Natives are in their OWN country and get help from their OWN government .. the threadstarter is asking how FOREIGN Poles get money to survive?

they arent foreigners
they are residents
legal residents
and entitled to the same as any other resident

the poles helped us during ww2
they deserve something in return
and the uk can afford it

what is it to you?
not your money

may i remind you
that the european union exists
to stop your type murdering half of europe

Travel / Modlin airport in Poland - closed again! [28]

the problem with that approach
ryanair and wizzair are somewhat in cahoots
and probably negotiated a hell of a deal to use modlin

wouldnt be any cash for outsourcing after that !

what they couldve done
i suppose

would be to actually allow ryanair and wizzair to operate it directly

News / Amb. W. Sobków's response to G. Coren's "Today I am make first column in Polski" [59]

[********************]
What's interesting I can't recall a single article in Polish newspapers that would categorize and bully people in terms of their nationality the way British media repeatedly do.[/quote]

what
you havent read gazeta polska or others recently?

the rubbish they post about russians and jews is unbelievable

with Germanic people.

Not a bad airport when you're airside though.

Travel / Modlin airport in Poland - closed again! [28]

They could have done that a bit better, especially in a country that's icy cold in winter and at an airport where people arrive coatless from hot countries!

will it eventually be connected inside or not?

i really dont like the check in area as well
it seems they dumped some desks in the middle of a big room

wroclaw is currently my favourite polish airport
although the old one was hilariously bad

Travel / Modlin airport in Poland - closed again! [28]

we all know
that PiS would have blamed russians
or someone else
rather than just taking responsibility and closing the damn place

not a fan of okecie too actually
that walk from the train to the terminal is a joke
i arrived at one of the gates at the far left end of the terminal a few weeks ago
and had to walk a long long wa to get my bags
not good

News / Poland - Third World Country?? [300]

I would compare Poland today to East Germany in the 90 s.

anyone
and i mean anyone
who knows anything
knows that isnt true

frankfurt oder is a great example
it is horrible suburbs
meanwhile the polish side is fine
and housing more expensive

quite obviously you live in NRW and have never been to poland
either that
or eisenhuttenstadt

Polonia / Moving from Brazil to Poland? [6]

oh dear
jason
still preaching wrong information i see

lets start with your story about overstaying
the standard punishment is a years ban from schengen
and a permanent note on the schengen information system about your previous overstay
not a good idea

your claim that you told them that you were in germany
doesnt matter and is likely to be lies

if you want to stay in schengen
get legal
it is the only way

now lets talk about him
there are people with masters degrees and fluent in polish that cant find work
even in major cities

and you think a non polish speaking foreigner
has a chance
with no education?

please
dont encourage him

Another 'success story' of PO and PSL government

i fail to see why the government
is responsible
for the failures of a private company

the success of the government is making sure that the airfield got closed
before another polish tragedy

Polonia / Moving from Brazil to Poland? [6]

there is nothing in this country for you
poland is a tough place for those with qualifications
experience
knowledge

UK, Ireland / Polish is Britain's second language, says UK report [52]

Do you believe the Polish media should do more to highlight the hardships Polish economic migrants will face in the UK, especially now when the work void has been filled.?

absolutely
whereas it was very easy for them to find work 2004 - 2007
these days is a different story

a typical example is with
local shops
before poles could work there
now middle class women need to work in the co op too
because their husbands lost their city jobs

History / Origins of Poland national differences? [41]

ah well
if we had accepted genetic differences
those poles would never have had the chance of a good education
remember they were considered dumb too scientifically back in the day

UK, Ireland / Polish is Britain's second language, says UK report [52]

thanks, are the UK residents combined into a seperate electoral seat like the French system, or are the votes counted in their home constituencies?

i seem to remember that they are counted as being in the centre of warsaw
but i could be wrong
anyone

UK, Ireland / Polish is Britain's second language, says UK report [52]

will Polish politicians campaign here like the French do?

they did already
particularly in 2007
the current government were very effective at getting them to vote for them
the queues in london were incredible

Language / Poles - don't fall into the French/Spanish trap re pronunciation/accent! [81]

*Why would Polish people learn French 20 years + ago? You wer under an oppressiv Government that would not allow you out of the country and certainly not to travel to France, a Western country.

hardly
poland even during communism was very big on teaching languages
as for getting out of the country
many people did
the border was not as sealed as you might imagine
foreign currency transfers to poland did a lot to keep the country solvent
especially in the 80's

english was very commonly taught as a compulsory subject in university for instance

I'm not up to date with current curriculum but 20 years ago not all kids were taught English.

same today
schools in rural schools are still teaching russian first
due to excellent russian teachers
and poor english teachers

Work / I'M SO SURPRISED BY THIS SALARY FOR IBM in WROCLAW 3000 ZL gross [135]

I don't teach English, and I do own property in Poland. I am currently in the process of renovating one house and also buying 17 ha of farmland. So what could I know...

that you seem to tell tall tales
for a start
you posted previously about teaching in universities
and driving an old car
now you suddenly have become a property baron

i. smell. nonsense.

you can be honest
we know that youre just another foreigner who hates the fact that he cant earn enough in poland
unlike the locals

i know many like you
all of them pretend to be much more than they are

tefl

To be totally honest though, I think 2000 net is hardly enough to survive for foreigner in Wroclaw. Possible, but very modest.

but if they were to do the normal thing
flatshare
etc
if they had experience and were genuinely good
they would get promoted easily

something tells me that theres something wrong with them if theyre applying for first level jobs

Real Estate / Astounded by the poor value of residential property here in Wroclaw [92]

In my experience here in Wroc, the rents almost always exclude the monthly service charge.

that is because many of the charges arent fixed

for instance
i pay around 220zl a month for heating
but because we administrate our own apartment complex
our complex is incredibly warm as a result of being built well with excellent insulation
as a consequence
i get most of that money back every year
