News / Beer and cycling - it's time for Poles to act [46]

No, I haven't actually. I value other peoples lives. Sorry to disappoint...

1-2 I'm sure is ok, but until you've hit someone riding a bike who's drunk and all over the road, you believe what you want.

No, as long as you post sth like this

True, I'd have to think real hard about where I may have seen it. The bricks in the back may have helped, but doubt it :)

Hey, it is a Rathaus, not castle!!!! :):):)

Spot on ;) Was it the "sea" part that gave it away?

I'm American. The top looks like a castle. Don't I get away with that?

I'd post Malbork (my fav), bu it's too easy. Try this:

Great. You don't see the back often ;)

Hey, how about running a series of riddles about Polish castles for a while?

Living there, some of you might be better, but I'm all for it.

Birow Fort?

Thank you. Perhaps this will be easier. In what city am I? Great, what is the name of this castle I'm standing behind?

There's this type of discussion in lots of forums. I even see it here from both parties. Everyone is filled with hate and jealousy anymore. Sad really.

Life / Legal Graffiti Walls in Poland? [45]

Have you checked the Legal-Walls site?

Team Alosta and Smug One are some of the best in the world, and it IS art; however, if permission isn't given, it's just vandalism. Most murals these days are done by people who have been given permission. Simply "tagging" your street name or gang is just stupid and these kids should be made to clean the streets for a yr.

Ex...Smug one

USA, Canada / Do Polish guys like American girls? [103]

Oh God, don't do online dating. Guys often meet girls over the internet so they can hide things about themselves and show the best parts of themselves

I disagree. I met my ex online in a snowboard forum, and we dated for 5 years and everything was great. We only split because of the distance and me not willing to move to Poland. I'm not saying everyone would have the same experience, but I would not rule this out.

You forgot to formulate a riddle. :)

Silly me. Got wrapped up in memories... Where am I?

It's actually not really that important in Polish history - much more important in Allied/German history than anything. It's the reason why the park is so neglected these days.

Not a valid riddle answer ;) We'll just block it out and say it doesn't exist, and there's no history at that site. We'll move on to the topic.

The Citadel park is often overlooked, but there's a lot of stuff there, not to mention very important in Polish history...and British etc.

Ok...hmm. I think you got me with this one. I know for a fact that I've walked past this a lot, but drawing a blank.

Is this the same building, but different angle?

I was thinking that its the side of the university, but then again it also looks like a building around the corner from the opera house. Might need a sec on this one :)

...edit. Better pic. University. They always hang ugly advertisements on it

USA, Canada / Do Polish guys like American girls? [103]

Ha!! Spot on ;)

On a serious note. Here, I've noticed that most are dating Polish or other slavic girls. I'm sure some are dating Americans though. Attraction is attraction no matter what the nationality.

It's not a waste of time at all. Keep up the good work because one day you'll eventually hear these words :)

ive me a reason, with all the hatefull ignorant trash spoken on here by Poles

Just here? lol. Its not like that at all. When in Poland I met met more thana handful of people wanting to learn/teach and speak with me. Although most were a little embarrassed, after a few drinks it was mostly easy breezy for all of us :)

History / PRE-WAR BONDS and CURRENCY issued in Poland -- ANY VALUE? [9]

Merged: Old Currency and Bonds of Poland - historical value?

I have some antique PL/GER currency and was wondering if anyone has a good resource where I can look these up. I have 1929-1931-1934-1936-1937 and 1941a 50 Reichs Pfennig coins. I'm sure they hold more historical value than $, but curious about them. Thanks!
