Is it just me or is the best part of this the cabbage that is used to line and cover the cabbage rolls?

I was unaware of this practice till about 10yrs ago. I had a crew of Polish guys doing a bunch of construction on my house. One day for lunch I bought a bunch of pizzas. I set them out on the picnic table with paper plates, plastic utensils, hot sauce, some sodas, beers and salt & pepper. Within seconds of the men sitting down to eat half of them were asking me for ketchup...to this day I find it bizarre.
