Work / How to get a Poland visa for my Ukrainian wife? [12]

You're right, although I won't start work until the end of September. My employer won't start the work permit process until I'm in Poland, so that's why I'm going a bit early in August. Are you saying that there's no way for her to come with me until I get my residency card?

My employer will start the work permit process once I get there in August, but I'm not sure how long it will take and I don't want to leave her behind.

Work / How to get a Poland visa for my Ukrainian wife? [12]

Hi everybody,

I've been reading this forum for a while, and I hope to become an active member once I move to Krakow next month :) I'm an American and I've just signed a job contract in Krakow. I'll be moving there in August 2011 from Ukraine, and I already have a flat in Krakow.

I have a Ukrainian wife, but we're having trouble finding a way to allow her to come with me. The consulate in Kharkiv said that she needed an invitation from the Urzad Wojewodzki, but my employer is not willing to go through this process since they don't have a contract with her. They said it was very time consuming and was a difficult process. Do you know of any other way to get her to Poland??

As of now, I have the following documents:

- My job contract (in English)
- My flat contract (in Polish and English), my wife's name is in the contract allowing her to stay at the flat
-Receipts from the bank showing that I've paid for the flat (the deposit and next month's rent)
-A letter from my employer stating my job status and salary (in Polish)

If it comes down to it, maybe I could sign her up for some Polish courses and get a study visa or something. Any ideas?? I'd appreciate your input. Thanks! Jeff
