Language / Give me some reasons to learn Polish [126]

Just pleasure and curiosity, that's all.

There wouldn't be any reason for learning new languages.

So don't ask yourself for reasons that make sense.

Maybe one day(just a simple assumption),

you will meet a Polish person. It would make you feel so good and improve your self-confidency to chat with him/her in Polish.

Travel / Booking train ticket for Warsaw [2]

Hello to all PolishForum.com residents,

I want to ask a question about booking train ticket.

I will go to the Warsawa from £ódź Fabrycna at September 4. I should arrive there nearly at 9 or 10 a.m because of my flight.

May I book a ticket for that time? Because it is a certain date and booking at this week would be cheaper.

If I can, how should I book? From website or train stations?

The trains from that area all call at £ódź Widzew.

Do you have any idea that £ódź Widzew is far from al. Politechniki? I stay in there.

After visiting Oświęcim, I want to go Krakow, is there a public transportation from Oświęcim? After visiting Krakow, i think i can return £ódź Fabryczana by train.

I want to ask how can I arrive Auschwitz. I am newbie about routes and trains.

I will get on train at £ódź Fabryczana or Kaliska, but I do not know the rest - public transportation, trains etc.

What would be my main route to Auschwitz? I want to visit there.

And the prices, what would be total cost? Most of train websites are in Polish and do not have any info.

I am sorry, I realized that it was a complex question. But I hope, you understand me - visiting individually to Auschwitz from £ódź with minimum cost -.

Study / Starting my internship in Łódź Technical University - should i learn Polish very well? [3]

Good evening to all members,

First of all, thanks all of you for your great contributions on this forum to help non-Polish people like me.

My question is about learning Polish.

If i could, i will start my internship in £ódź Technical University this summer. My English is well for basic dialogs and technical terms; but I've heard that a great percentage of people don't know English in there, even in the university.

Maybe it's true or not, what do you advise me? Should I learn only basic dialogs like "hello, how are you, my name is ..." , or should i really study polish as well as a 7-year-old Polish child? Especially answers from students of £ódź Technical University will enlighten me very much.

(Note: I'm so glad some threads in forum about Turkish people. As a Turkish citizen, thank you for your comments. I hope I will enjoy in £ódź, even in other cities.)
