UK, Ireland / Help for Poles based in Uk who want to go bankrupt [18]

No it's not a big trial.

It does cost fees of a maximum of £610 to pay for the court fees and the Offcial Receiver's deposit.

You seem very antagonistic about those from abroad using our courts to go bankrupt, but the same operates the other way around. If someone from Engalnd and Wales resides with their centre of main interest in an EU state, they can go bankrupt in that country.

What people here are paying for with my help is the special expertise that is necessary to get someone from the EU processed properly and without hitch.

Thanks for the feed back vitriolic or not.

No I am not struck off. I have got fed up with the billable hour culture of all legal firms which reguire you to bill 6 minute units at £250 per hour.

I think I can offer better value at a hugely reduced cost.

There is no legal aid for this. I charge as little as £250 to help someone go bankrupt, giving all legal advice, filing in the papers, attending at court to see the judge, support for a year after. I don't see that as ripping off people. It is exceptional value for money.

I don't advocate running up debts, (even if anyone can actually get credit), but this is dealing with debt that has already been acrued, in all probability in Poland and using an EU system to clear your debts here and not in Poland.

There is nothing sinister here, it is what 120,000 UK citizens will do this year.

I am happy to answer any more questions or rebut any other false presumptions.

Hi guys, it may be news to some of you, or a reminder to others that it is possible for you to declare yourselves bankrupt here in England thanks to EU Insolvency laws. You need to show that England is your centre of main interest (COMI), but I can help with that.

I am a qualified solicitor (non practising) who has a debt help company and I take people through the bankruptcy process, helping them restart again.

If you would like to talk through any debt problem you have or might want to recommend some one to me, I'd be more than happy to help.

Here is a link to a piece I have written relating to Poles in England and bankruptcy.

You will need to add the w w w to the front of the link just for now.
