Will bear this in mind pip -- like your kids,we were brought up from a young age completely bilingual,after mum moved to Spain. Youngest bro was brought up with both languages from birth and he hasnt had any problems. We spend a lot of time in Spain and Poland so its inevitable that kid will learn all 3 -- not a bad thing! Will hopefully bring good job prospects! lol :)

Completely agree -- we've always said baby will eventually speak at least 3 languages as a lot of my family are still in Spain,inc my mum, and all his family are in Poland. We all learned Spanish from a very early age except my youngest brother who learned it from a baby - if I remember rightly he was fine,but I think its a helluva lot to take in at that age.....sounds like you've got a good plan in gear,with regards to introducing it gradually. Just worry really that its too much as you get the usual advice that kids learn quicker at a young age but dont want to fry the kid's brain either lol

I was brought up in Spain but now live in Scotland whilst my other half is Polish....so this has made for good reading as I've often wondered where's my best option for giving birth when we decide to start a family....suppose I could always have one in each country ha ha! :)

Just so happened that all my boyfriends have been Scottish...never really took much interest in Polish people before, they were "just there". I was brought up with friends of multiple nationalities so i tend to live & let live :)

Capricious temper? I can be pretty crabbit myself at times lol! Anyway as for the ones that think that Poles have no right to be here, I politely tell them to go check their history books..... ;)

I've had more from my Polish other half than Ive ever had from any Scotsman....a helluva lot more respect,for starters. Not saying all Scots are disrespectful....think i just attracted the nutters lol ;) Love my gorgeous man to bits, when we started dating he knew within weeks I was "the one"....& I felt the same. Whats for you,won't go by you! Regardless of nationality!

I believe that if two people love each other it doesnt matter where they're from....I'm a Scottish lady, brought up in Spain but now back in Scotland, who's other half is Polish. I must say I've had some really cheeky comments, all from British men, that Poles should "stick to their own kind" !

I've put this ignorance down to jealousy at seeing two people very happy together....and I think it will be great for our kids, when we have them, to learn three languages and cultures :)
