Study / Studying in Poland in English [35]

Yes, in every major city in Poland there are universities which run classes in English. I have no idea about prices... but for sure they're at least a bit higher when comparing to usual ones.

Language / Calling a person a 'potato' (ziemniak/kartofel/burak) [37]

Why are some Polish people called 'potatoes' by other Polish people?

Maybe burak? For example 'ty buraku', lol, and that's for sure derogatory. What about the subject... I've never seen people calling somebody a potato :)

Travel / Which city is better to visit: Warsaw or Krakow? [169]

A professional career in Warsaw would be easier to find and pay slightly better.

Not always... many IT companies have moved to Cracov and salaries in this field are the same in both cities.

I am English & intrested to know as poland is such a loverly looking place, why do you all need to come here to england?

Well, we have common saying in Poland, maybe you have similar one (if so write it here) - literally it would be sth close to:

'if one doesn't know what it is all about, then it's about money' :-)

Law / VoIP Business in Poland [17]

The cost quoted seems like an ADSL connection for home users.

Yeah, I was thinking about internet connection for home users from companies like TP SA, Netia, UPC, Aster or local ISPs. They can provide you internet access for ~15-20$ (especially local ISPs).

Shabuz, everything depends on what you want to do... if you want for example to run some server or sth like that then you will have to pay more to provide good quality services...

Law / VoIP Business in Poland [17]

Any valuable suggestion would be much appreciated.

It's too late to start VoIP business in Poland - there are many companies on the market already. Another thing is that many ISPs offers VoIP as addional service ... or even they offer internet+voip+cable tv.

how much is the average cost of dedicated (leased) Internet broadband line of speed say 512Kbs per month

~15-20$ (local ISPs)

does the ISP companies allow voice port or they block it etc.

there is no such thing as VoIP port.... VoIP isn't easy to block, so I can say that in most cases there won't be any problems to establish VoIP connection.

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

but dont expect to eat or drink for this figure...

Yeah, maybe 1500 PLN in most cases wouldn't be enough... but my friend earns 1500 PLN and somehow live in Warsaw... he rents one room flat.

Ok, so 2000 PLN would be enough in most cases.

She said that she was taking home about about 1000 PLN a month which was a little less than I expected the average in Poland would be.

Official average is about 2000 PLN, maybe even more.. although there are people who earn 1000 PLN or less, and people who earn 15 000 or more... maybe you should tell us what is your profession?

Costs of living in Warsaw for one person? I would say that it is about 1500 PLN.
