History / The heroic jump of the 1st Polish Independent Paratrooper Brigade [81]

Lol honestly jonni your one of the most ignorant people I have seen on this forum. Telling Polish people to forget ww2 is like telling Jewish people to forget the holocaust. Jeeeez only 20% of your population was wiped out, most of your cities and national architecture was destroyed and you had to start the nation over from scratch GOD get over yourselves. WW2 and the betrayal of our allies or Real Politik or inactivity or whatever you want to call it has forever changed our cultural identity because unfortunately we did not get the luxury of freedom after our "liberation".

UK, Ireland / Time for the Poles from the UK to go home [437]

I agree Poles should return to Poland and make it a great country rather than work in western Europe for minimum wage.

History / The relations: Church and III Reich (Kosciol-NS Niemcy) [16]

lol So you got a bunch of priests saluting Hitler, so what? So did the British athletes in the 1936 games( you can see it yourself on youtube). That doesn't mean that entire Vatican assisted or supported what Hitler did. Hitler was born a Catholic but if you read Mein Kampf and the biographies of people who conversed to him about religion like Speer, he wanted the German people to abandon Protestantism and Catholicism because their power wasn't centered around the state. He wanted the German people to accept Nordic paganism which he viewed to be more of a German religion and it suited him more as some core values are strength and loyalty to your superiors.

History / "Poland's Concentration Camp" ?? [570]

Alright Harry I'm not going to lam bast you with insults as I'm sure many people have done that already and it serves no purpose. First off I'd just like to remind you that just as many Poles went to the concentration camps to be shot, gassed or torched alive as Jews were and many of those concentration camps you named off were filled with Polish children, who were then butchered because they could not be Germanised. Your main point seems to be that the concentration camps were still being run up until 1946 and 1947. Well those camps were being run by the communists whom had arrived in 1945, a government which was imposed on the Polish people and run by collaborators, all of whom are now called traitors in Poland. This was also allowed to happen through the western betrayal might I add when the British and Americans sold Poland out at Yalta. The camps were there to intern "questionable" elements such as many Polish nationalists, Jews and Germans that could have opposed this government and were guarded by Russian soldiers. If there were deaths there, they would have been minimal, such minuscule numbers compared to the death factories the Germans were running. Finally if you still blame the Polish people for those deaths and you want to hold them accountable for the murders done by an imposed government then I want to hold you accountable for the entire Genocide of the Native Americans, the imposing of dictators around the world and the dropping of the nuclear bomb on the Japanese if your American. If your British I want you to be held accountable for the enslavement of millions of Africans, the slaughter and colonization of the Indians, the Bombing of Dresden, the deportation of the Acadians and the list goes on. You simply cant label whole peoples murders'.

News / What the Polish government do to bring back home Polish immigrants? [116]

Seanus, I realize there is a lot of value in working abroad especially financially but that's for someone personally. But I am thinking of the community, the nation state as a whole and if those Poles decide not to come back that's a loss for the entire community, and no if your friend decides to help those in Namibia for a few weeks, months or even years that's a noble cause but I would hope that he/she knows that their home is in Poland. I am speaking about the people with university degrees in chemistry and physics and biology who go to the west and work as bell boys or maids. When amathyst says pride doesn't feed the children hes totally right but there is always a choice and those people decided that rather than making their own nation a better place, they fled.

The simple fact remains is that I want what's best for Poland and Polish people as I sure most of us do. There's nothing wrong with working abroad but I don't see how it will help Poland especially if many of of thousands people of the diaspora decide to settle in their country. Many of them are highly educated and Poland definatly can't afford to lose such people aside from the fact that these educated people usually do jobs much beneath them.

Its true my Polish is weak, especially in writing and that's only through my fault but not one of you could refute my points. Torq, its quite telling when a "plastic" Pole has to teach about patriotism and whats actually going on in Poland. To quote Roman Dmowski "To be a Pole does not mean just to speak Polish or to feel close to other Poles, but to value the Polish nation above all else ... [A Pole] must accept everything Polish, both good and bad, and must accept every period of the nation's history, both strong and weak." and I value the Polish state above all else, unfortunately millions of other Poles don't. Millions of Poles died so there could be a Poland but you shouldn't be reminding me, you should be reminding the millions of Poles that are leaving every single year and settling down in different nations and enhancing them. Those Poles died so that there could be a free Poland and they went through 200 years of oppression, they did not intend for the free people of Poland to then abandon their great nation. So sure nitpick at my Polish but unlike alot of Poles I still have a shred of dignity and if loving the state makes me a fool then I am the biggest fool in the world.

Yah I still think their traitors and yes I think being unemployed in poland is better than being employed else where. Because when you starve you think, and when you think you change your government, by force if necessary. Unfortunatly most Poles can't think that way, they just waited until it joined the EU and then fled in evrey direction bound to forget their history and national pride and then their own nation loses a whole generation of intellectuals.Maybe traitor is a little harsh but I guess They'd rather work for foreigners than improve their own nation.

I think anyone that left Poland is a traitor to the nation and shouldn't bother coming back. It's quite embarrassing actually, a whole generation of educated Poles left so that they could do the scumiest, most pathetic jobs of Western Europe and get half the pay too. The Mexicans of Europe.
