Law / Retail shop, Import tax on textiles, Clothing, Perfume and other to Poland [13]

Merged: A small business idea in Plock. It'll be a retail shop with one employee.

Hi All,

Again i find myself here trying to clarify some info, Thanks in advance for any posts!!

Im looking to trial a small business idea in Plock, It will be a retail shop with one employee, (probably self employed employee) The trial is for 3 months so im looking of ways to do this company wise!

Would it be possible to use a umbrella company for this ? If they exist here? Is there a way i can do it without opening a Limited company? I have negotiated in principle a 3month rent of a retail shop, but if im not impressed with the figures after this time it will be closing thus incurring the Closing company fees!!

Any help would be appreciated

Life / Driving test, English speaking driving school in Warsaw? [95]

What a time waster you really are. Are you even in poland?! Or just sitting on your own trying to make friends on the internet?!

Imaginary?! I dont think so, my wife worked for Barclay's in Cambridge and in Sutton, South london... And there were definitely polish signs. Which i believe was a good thing. I suppose you would just recommend they learn the language too...

Get a life, and leave me alone. At least im contributing to polish life, living here, learning language, spending money here every month. Dont really need advise from you so keep it to your self..

Bye Bye

The other disadvantage's with getting a uk license would be that i cannot drive abroad for at least a year.
Where do get your information? I can assure you that this is rubbish.

Apologies i was mis-lead on this, it is 3 years before you can rent a car after passing a test.

Thanks for you expert knowledge.

Neil Warsaw:
does anyone know if this can be done in English?!
For goodness' sake, you're not living in England. The days of empire are over????
Do you think there's a facility for POlish speakers to "do their theory test in Polish" in England?
Hardly. As you're living in Warsaw...hey....why not learn the language?

Is there really any need for a response like this. I have been here 8 months and am learning the language whenever i can, personally do not think im up to a level where i can take a written practical test.

Well we have polish signs in england now and information in the majority of banks all written in polish so i would not be surprised if we do offer the service....

Thanks again for you help. Idiot.

And thanks to the moderator who moved this subject and thus help me find the info i needed... :-)

Thanks again for you help.

Learning to Drive in Poland (Warsaw)

Hi All,

Im from uk currently living in warsaw,

I really need to learn how to drive and was considering an intensive course in Uk but with the average quote for written and practical test coming back at around 900-1100 im wondering if it would be cheaper to do it here in warsaw as this is where i really need to drive.

The other disadvantage's with getting a uk license would be that i cannot drive abroad for at least a year.

Does anyone have any experience off passing a test here, or even better recommend an instructor, ive heard there is a written test here as well so does anyone know if this can be done in English?!

thanks in advance

Neil

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

No way - you can get a good connection for around 70zl. If you're paying 130zl, what the hell have you got - 16mb+?

Yea to be fair you are probably right, we recently moved so are having to pay relocation fee and a new connection fee added to our monthly payments... think we have a 4mb on aster

Finally, someone who is realistic about prices in Warsaw. I'm here now - and the prices are only slightly higher (and in some cases, lower!) than in Poznan!

Yea its not to bad here, in fact ill go out for a beer now seeing as the sun is shinning!

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

Hi ya,

I live in warsaw but i suppose day to day expenses are roughly the same, My gal friend (polish) teaches english and history in English at high school and gets paid about 1900z kinda part time although she is always there, so i suppose the wage seems fair.... Will be other teachers on the site that know better than me though :-)

If your accommodation is free then its not so bad, expect to pay around 130z for a decent internet connection per month, and around 200z for food a week.... Drinking out is between 5-9z per beer, Italian meal for 2 with beer about 60-100z eating out, pouch of drum tobacco, 40g is 17,50z as i smoke myself.... short journey on bus, say 15mins 2-80z

Life / Expats in Krakow - Do you miss TV from back home? Help is at hand! [17]

I have been using a very reliable VPN for 4 months (in warsaw), costs 6 pound per month, Can watch all ABC, Fox shows in US, and bbc iplayer, channel 4 od, etc etc in UK....

Never have a problem with streaming, and if you have a LCD TV most of the time there is a input for a VGA lead so we just hook the laptop to the TV! Anyone who wants the details of the VPN let me know, im not gonna advertise for them..
