Life / Price/wage ratio in Poland - shocked! [16]

I'm shocked at seeing how low the wages are in Poland

Jesus, what did you expect ? It's enough to check basic economic indicators.

Is there any Eastern European country out there still with extremely low prices across the board (rent, groceries, clothes)?

How can there be any country with "extremely low prices" when the whole world basically became one common market ?

History / Poles also killed innocents [32]

Oy vey ! That area was a disputed territory like a 100 others in Europe at that time. Czechs seized it by force when they got an opportunity to do that. Nothing more to see here except for pathetic Polonophobes, who made it one of their favourite issues. Some of them can even spam about it for tens of posts, again and again. Pathetic dickheads.

History / Poles also killed innocents [32]

so Czechoslovakia invaded part of the area.

Poland's fault. Always ;) They were forced, had no other choice (like allowing people living there to decide).

News / Observance of Warsaw Uprising [17]

Macierewicz has been a good defence minister, despite all the nonsense that he's going to start war with Russia and so on. But this thing is totally unnecessary.

Work / Krakow - living and working [18]

Could you assist me with providing me some info on average brutto/netto salaries for this field in Krakow

It really depends If it does require any previous experience, being a native speaker of any foreign language etc. If it is entry level position which basically require just fluent English and nothing else, It might be as low as 2500 PLN net.

And then I've looked for studios+utilities and prices are between 1200 (just rent) + 1000 (rest)

1200 for rent is ok but 1000 for utilities definitely isn't, unless you keep x devices running 24/7, hot water for 1h a day etc. it should be more like 350 a month.

Regarding KBP it's technically in a village but it's just outside the city's borders. Maybe not "a stone's throw from the city center" as they advertise it -> kbp.pl but not very far away, I'm sure 99% of people working there live in the city and use bus/train/car to commute there.

I'm not sure that with 5000PLN bruto, as it would be 3550 netto (real money on the hand) I could pay for everything.

3500 net will be enough unless you choose some overpriced flat or want to eat at the market square restaurants everyday. Doing it "student style" with flat sharing, cooking on your own etc. you could actually make it on half of that money.

UK, Ireland / Xenophobic Backlash Against Polish School in London [23]

It's particularly disgusting as the english have had millions of non-europeans there and somehow don't have much problem with them... and "logically" they should target them first, in Poland racists might have some issues with Blacks or Arabs but not really with other Europeans. Apparently the english tribemen look down on us as a sort of subhumans and we treat their "English teachers" and other parasites as friggin royalty. It's time to give them the boot.

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

Those States were benificiaries of EU grants

We're talking about trillions here, that in real economy, not some ************ like building aquaparks, are flowing from the peripheries to the core, "EU grants" are nothing in comparison. Now the next levels comes, let's take the "EU army", do you realize that now ~90% of purchases done by the Polish army are going to domestic companies ? Now tell me, when "EU army" arise, what will be its standard rifle, tank or truck ? Think for a while, at least try.

It was closed for siesta.

Yeah, lazy southerners, ayee... now dude, go check facts like OECD statistics on the average annual hours actually worked per worker and check it for "hard working" Germans and "lazy" Greeks, Spaniards etc.

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

You are simply not capable to discuss, "holy EU !" is all you can come up with. Dude, "EU" has become a tool to exploit peripheral member states and "further integration" will only bring more of that. Ever wondered why Gerries need more and more workers, while Spain has had millions jobless people since decades ? Ever wondered why "EU" push up "environmental regulations" again and again ? Perhaps not so much to "protect environment" but to support few mega corporations as SMEs are then struggling to grow and challenge them then ? You are a useful idiot, nothing else.

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

If the EU were a Free Zone, it would have done nothing for Poland.

Oh my ! So it's all to "help Poland" !

I don't know where you were before 2004, but there was NOTHING that Poland produced pre-2004 that the other states wanted in large numbers. The reason? Lack of a widespread ISO certification.

Your problem is that... you're damn stupid, go check the basic facts, go to Eurostat and check the statistics, trends etc. You will find out that after the EU anschluss economic growth actually... slowed down.

So you want to tell us that Gerries want to dominate Europe via "super state" to... help Poland ? Somehow vast majority of Poles do not want to see that but oh these Gerries, they are so good, they will do all they can to make us happy. Jesus, you're nuts.

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

Huh ? With the help of madmen that are capable of doing everything to push forward their sick concepts. If people like me were in charge of this mess, the whole "EU" would be little more than free zone - then no brexit, no breakdown of the UK and no xyz nasty things that's going to happen in the coming years.

Dude, get a brain, UK was pushed out because it was an obstacle to create a friggin "super state" aka 4th Reich. And the reasons why some circles want to create that "super state" are not noble to put it mildly but you useful idiots are totally clueless to the point that dude, who support the "super state" idea at the same time praise... Irish neutrality.

but the view of British diplomats throughout the years.

One could assume that foreign diplomats residing in London could also come up with several comments on the country that over the last 70 years lost 90% of what it has gained during previous centuries, what's more is now on the edge of breaking down into pieces. But there's a difference between people and arrogant xenophobic peasants that still need a queen, lords and all that mess...

Libya??? FFS

Yeah because that was what, friggin 3 years ago ? Dude, you're a joke.

I'd never give up Irish neutrality

Just one more evidence that you should lose your voting rights on the medical ground. Dude, If there's a friggin "super state" and French/Italians/Gerries will decide to... let's say invade Libya again or whatever else, there won't be any friggin "Irish neutrality", some German dude sitting in Belgium will make a decision and that's it, Irish... sorry "European" soldiers will have to fight in some shytholes and Irish... sorry "European" taxpayers will have to pay for that. If it turns into something big, they might even bring back the draft and send your stinking ass over there. You fools support something without having a clue what consequences it will have.

Poland needs to be in the EU to be a normal country, for they could never govern themselves.

Shut up, Polonophobic racist. As for now your "kingdom" seems to be about to break down.

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

Your politically Illiterate blustering, Gregorz, as usual doesn't alter one single word of the truth, namely: Europe's longest period of peace and prosperity

Huh ? Jesus, dude leaving aside Balkan wars or that we have a friggin war in Ukraine the moment we speak, "wars" between developed countries are just yesterday's story with or without EU. They simply cost too much. You could as "well" credit so called "global warming" for "Europe's longest period of peace and prosperity". I'm sorry to say that but you people are idiots.

with the EU, they don't have to ...:D

True. They control the whole thing. So who in the end benefit from that thing ? Slovenia... ? Who's pushing for "super state" and why ?

News / What does Poles think of European superstate? [48]

Francois Hollande, either of the Verhofstat brothers...

Ver dude that turned Belgium into the 3rd world country ? What's working there ? Recently they are worried their nuclear power plant might explode. Hollande is equelly useless. What you strange dudes don't get is once there was a democratic super state (or would that be a lefty dictatorship ?) more likely than any of those clowns, Orban would win an elections there. Then what ? You nutters would likely start a civil war against him. It's the same again and again, you bolsheviks come up with "freedom, peace, prosperity" and in the end war and destruction, unfortunately that's likely what we are going to see again.

Exactly. Europe's longest period of peace and prosperity.

Yeah, because without blessed EU... what would happen ? Gerries would invade someone again ? So how come putting the same Gerries (as that what "super state" will be) in charge of the whole continent would be so super cool ? You EUnuchs and your logic.

Law / How much do Polish people actually pay in taxes? [12]

I believe that once you come to live in Poland permanently, (i.e. more than 186 days a year) and have your base in Poland (i.e. prime residency)

That is correct but in case of employees, who carry out work in Poland, there's no doubt where their "base" is, while in case of let's say German or British retired people, who rent/own some property in Spain or Portugal, where is their "base" ? Who can tell If they spend 200 days a year in Germany and 165 in Portugal or the other way around.

Here it is in case of PL/Swiss -> przepisy.gofin.pl/przepisy,4,15,82,178,,,konwencja-miedzy-rzeczapospolita-polska-a.html -> Art. 4, point 2 c)

Law / How much do Polish people actually pay in taxes? [12]

Is there a way to calculate approx. how much taxes I will pay?

That's a good question, in theory all the income (including foreign retirement) should be taxed in Poland (18/32%) but as far as I'm aware there are 2 more issues:

1. Bilateral agreements between countries on avoiding double taxation.
2. If you are living in both countries, a bit here a bit there (or at least can claim so) and it's not possible to prove where your "primary residency" is, then goes the citizenship rule - you pay taxes only in the country which you are a citizen of.

So I think there's a chance you won't have to pay any income tax here but it would be good to confirm that with some tax professional and If I were you, I would rather pay to get that on paper just in case.

News / Poland's Sejm passes anti-terrorist act; opposition negate [86]

it's just a shame to witness Poland's transformation to totalitarianism. When I first came here in September 2013, things were great, but now it's deteriorating.

If you are so clueless about what's going on here, better leave.

USA, Canada / Will a Bachelor's degree from Poland be recognized by an American university? [5]

These days people, who want to study anything/anywhere should first of all think why they really want to get that diploma... Univ level education became so common that only top 1% of "universities" make any impression on employers, on the other hand in vast majority of cases you won't even get to the interview phase without having a sort of degree... I think a good approach would be getting a degree the easiest possible way and invest saved time into either learning something actually useful or getting some work experience...

A "clown degree" + Chinese or Arabic would get you much farther than a "good" degree.

Work / What salary can be asked at IBM Poland? [67]

10 000 PLN per month or per annum? if per month then it is not much less than what president of Poland earns

Actually Prez makes 20k + free housing and pretty much free everything... 10k is much more than what majority of people are making but majority here is simply poor... 10k gross is decent but not any luxury.
