News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

So - I am then, to receive back the 300 cities and villages that my Great Grandfather Szczesny Potocki owned, lol?

That would be a stretch. I have made a few attempts to regain properties, but people wanted money off of me, and smelled of a scam, over the last 12 years. I did write to the President of Poland - BUT of course, he lives in one of my family's castles, so why would I expect him to be honest with me??

My family was driven out during the wars, and many died, shot even on the steps of their homes. Because my greatgrandfather stayed a Polish citizen, I am entitled to a dual citizenship; but, would I have to pay dual taxes? Things that make you go hmm.

Ah, I don't know exactly what happened...all the information isn't what I have read.

That last quote, shows to me that this is much disgusting thought by John Rose; I'd rather the children be alive, no matter what country.

I find this uncomfortable, to really talk about. Why? One book, one night is NOT enough information to inhale, and make a judgement! Isn't 'Zionist' now racist?

People are people.

I wonder is, why they didn't try and claim the properties 10 years ago?

News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

Celinski is correct, as far as I'm concerned. My family is Roman Catholic, and many of my family members were FORCIBLY tossed out of their homes by the Nazis, so the Nazis had a nice, comfy place to sleep, and control Poland.

Many of my family members died in Auschwitz, and they were Roman Catholic! I have lists, and some died saving Jews from the Nazis, as it was a death penalty to do so.

The Nazis wanted to destroy the Polish - they didn't care about us at all! We were there, simply to feed their propaganda machine.

Unfortunately, I don't see any information on this coming from any reputable paper. And if there were 10,000 people coming to reclaim land, perhaps it's counting everyone who's filing paperwork before the deadline - not just one group.

I detest racism, at any level. Grew up with it, thought it was over for most of the world. Seeing it on this forum makes me want to puke.

News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

Love your sarcasm, dear. ;)

Well, so there's a difference between the Jews, and the Roman Catholics, in wanting their property back, people are saying? Am I defined by my religion?

I simply wish for the property that was forcibly seized by the Nazis, and then kept by the Communist Govt. and Govt., until NOW.

Celinski pointed out rather eloquently much how I feel; my family was skootched about, in the Eastern part of Poland.

Do I have a different set of rights, than the Jews? I don't think so.
Now perhaps my plans are different, because I wish to help the local economy in Poland, and live there half the year.

*I did try to pull up the link, but it's nonexistent - can someone revive it, or was it fake?

I feel that all people should be treated with respect, and if they are in the same boat as me, then they deserve to be treated the same; if the property was stolen, like it was from my family, then the Government has stated that they'd give a percentage of the value, or give it back. I'd then be liable for double taxation, between Poland and the USA, over a certain amount.

So, as far as I can see, the people occupying the homes would either stay, or have the opportunity to move to another location - with the local government working with both parties, to ensure things are fine for both sides.

My auntie was prejudiced, so was my great cousin, Alka. I just let them jibber-jabber, and go, "Uh-huh, uh-huh, whatever" because I felt the prejudism would die with them. I'm in shock and horrified, because these people were NEIGHBORS!! My uncles DIED to save many...one was caught with 23 Jews, and was shot on the spot. Another was shot in Katyn.

Another was shot during the Bolshevik Revolution, simply because the Russian soldiers felt like it, and torturing the horses. and who knows how many women they raped, as the soldiers plundered. The Russians 'apologized' for shooting him, but yeah - you can't revive him.

NEVER AGAIN, will we let prejudism define us, at least me. That is why we have left 'Auschwitz' as a memorial, correct?

But then, on the Internet, it's much easier to let insults fly, because you aren't face to face with someone...makes me ponder.

Just because your skin color or religion isn't the same as me, doesn't mean I won't treat you the same. I treat everyone with respect, and politeness. They earn my disrespect, by what they do to others, and me, and I don't mean rumors.

But then, one of my best friends in the Midwest was an Orthodox Jew, with one of her parents showing the number tattoos. Out here in S. California, I walk past Muslims, Jews, Orthodox Jews, Roman Catholics, Protestants. When 9/11 happened, we pulled together ever so tightly, swearing to NOT let what happened during WW2 happen again! We even protected the Sikhs, who wore 'Angels' baseball caps instead of turbans. Many of the working Muslim women have become rather skilled at camouflaging their head covering, with baseball caps and little hat coverings - hoodies are perfect. I say hello to one, who's very shy, and is bold enough to wear her head covering to work. We are a community, we must help each other!

Oh, forgot - another one of my friend's parents were in a Japanese/American Internment Camp. His dad was in the infamous Japanese/American fighting group, with high fatalities, to prove their Loyalty to America, and freedom.

So, yes - I feel the Jewish families have the same rights as I do, in reclaiming my family properties.

My family, and OTHER families died, sacrificing themselves, to help the Jews. I don't think they meant for us to give them a different set of rules, in the future when we are reclaiming property.

News / 10,000 ISRAELIS READY TO CLAIM FOR POLISH CITIZENSHIP AND POLISH LAND! [628]

I was using my family to SHOW as an example, that EVERYONE'S family pretty much did the same thing. Many people died, and I do feel that a wholesale extermination went on against the Polish people for decades, while Poland was plundered for her resources. I also feel Poland better safeguard her forests, and that wood farming needs to be set up properly, so we will always have beautiful, untouched forests!

So - since when does what I say, mean anything about where the money comes from? Gee, let's see...in America, that would mean the taxes gathered pay for it, ergo your point is that the Polish tax payers would, too, NO DUH!!

I already STATED what deals they have lined up, I cannot speak for the government itself.

I also think perhaps age comes into this: if you are a teenager, you don't care so much, want to go forward with your life. If you're 30+, it's personal, you saw what it did to your family members, and how miserably they DIED, always wondering where the bodies are, so we can give them a proper burial, etc.!

NEVER FORGET.

UN put aside the money back in 1945, for this moment in time - it was set aside to help settle the land issues.

My family was forced out of their residences, including one that is now a museum, 'Lancut'. Also has a carriage museum, of our forefathers. He was able to save the majority of the residence, and now anyone can visit - with those foot coverings, and no high heels allowed.

Anything else, smarty-pants?

isthatu, for real, roflmao! So, the truth finally comes out - you hate Nobility! Do you hate the English Royalty and Nobility, too? I have been nice - really polite. Kid gloves are off.

The Polish Nobility created ahead of its time, what today we call 'Democracy'. Look it up.

You can complain all you like - you aren't going to change anything now or ever, are you.

Actually, the Poles who were in Kresy were given the lands for service, and that's why it was so easy for the Russians to cut the head off the Polish army - when you have the leaders in camps, and then kill them at Katyn, much easier.

And once again, their families and mine get our properties back. Words are meaningless - just pointless banter.

AMEN, celinski! THAT is what it's about: ALL the VICTIMS.

wakeup, you kept asking me questions, so I kept answering them; ergo, of course I would try an empathize through my family, dear.

You just bait us, and then pretend like we are crazy Polska ladies, sitting on our dupas, when it was YOU who kept bugging me for answers.

And what you can't comprehend, from my examples, which is crystal clear: ALL Polish families deserve their property back, no matter what their religion. 10,000 isn't that many people, in reality, across Poland.

This entire thread is inflammatory, and meant to fan the fires of Racism and Hate. I feel like we're going backwards in time, instead of forward, yet I hear you saying that is going forward?

This is rubbish.

I love how it took you TWO entire days to come up with that response, isthatu.

You don't know Polish history, so stop pretending to comprehend it. You blew it big time, even though I gave you the elements, you are too funny.

Here's something perhaps more to your tastes: warsawuprising.com/paper/katyn_time.htm

Of course, this probably means nothing to you, either: katyn.org.au

Fortunately, Warszawa has been in business for 30 years, and they are definitely still in business (I just hung up the phone with them, double-checking the information), with an online menu.

According to a quick look on the internet, it says that Stalin killed 43 million between 1929 and 1953. Ukrainian bodies. You can see flip through, and see photos...have a strong stomach.

THAT is what Celinski is speaking of; Stalin began killing many people, before WW2, and Katyn. Katyn was just the icing on the cake for the mass murdering creature. He's worse than Dracula was EVER portrayed.

Note: My stepfather died a grisly death last year, from Multiple Myeloma. He took 8 years to die, and he wasted away to 87 pounds. What killed him, caused his cancer? Cleaning up the dirt from us bombing Japan with the A-bombs! He had to move the contaminated dirt. Did he regret it? No; he was proud to serve America in the cleanup.

Mathias, like your 'Darkness' avatar, from Topcow, by Marc Sylvestri. ;>

He's a popular traditional Orthodox Jewish Entertainer, with 6 kids. I don't see any point at all, except that kid near the beginning plays the violin better than me.

Everyone is entitled to their own religion, and ways. I live near one of the biggest melting pots in S. Cali, where Catholics, Christians, Orthodox Jews and Muslims all live peacefully together, with a few Indian Sikhs, and Hindus. People here cover for each other's major religious days, so all is good.

I see no reason why Poland would be any different.

Once again: the money was SET ASIDE by the UN, back in 1945. Why doesn't anyone understand this? It isn't coming from any Poles.

Yes, Dice; they are POLISH Jews.

Bah, it's like banging my head against a brick wall on this thread.

What color is the sky, in the little world of yours? Answer: Plaid. If not, go watch Tiny Toon Adventures enough, to where it is.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

I started another thread, that shows how Catholic Poles and Polish Jews were persecuted side by side. It mattered not to the Nazis; they would force the Priests and the Rabbis to carry excrement, defile churches by locking people in them for days, etc. If a German Pole refused to give up his being Polish, he was also murdered.

The majority of the time, the Nazis forbade the proper burial of the dead in the towns in the cemetaries, whether they be Jewish or Catholic. They did absolutely everything they could, to destroy the Poles, but it never worked.

THAT is what no one could ever understand; you could occupy her, you could attempt to destroy her; but Poland still lived on, in the hearts and wills of her people, whether in the country or without!

Poland has always been special throughout history, when she ruled over others, and was occupied. There has always, ALWAYS been a certain Dignity with the way the Polish people did, and still do things.

My Aunt once went on how she hated Jews, but when I pinned her down on it, she had twisted logic about how they caused our family to be murdered along with them.

Between two world wars, women were raped and murdered without any provocation or reason, and forced into prostitution!! The human mind will find a reason sometimes, no matter how fantastic. My great-cousin and aunt both blamed the Jews for our Roman Catholic family members being persecuted, murdered, and suffering a slow, lingering death for many in Auschwitz. They had no logic, only emotional feelings.

I can only recall the story of that Priest, who let the Nazis take away the ill, and did nothing; then took away the homosexual, and did nothing. Then, the Nazis took away the Gypsies, and did nothing. Then, the Jews, and he did nothing. When finally the Nazis came to take him away, there was no one left to stand up for him, just like he did nothing to stand up for the rest!

And that brings me to a little town, I can't recall where; but 26 Jews and Poles were set to be executed. The German Poles refused to let the Nazis kill them all, so settled for the deaths of 3, before moving on to the next village. They were lucky to all live, actually!

In first grade, my best friend was an Orthodox Jewish girl named Patty, who was adopted by older parents. When I was finally introduced to them, I for the first time in my life actually saw the number tattoos on their wrists! I had to ask Patty what they were later. I then knew what they were on my great-cousin, when she visited America.

I was never encouraged to be prejudiced, ergo, I never learned that trait; I'm glad.

Thanks on the correction of the Pastor - the sentiment stands, I'm sure I messed it up, but close enough you all got it. Heh, rather sad for him.

Davey is correct; many Jews did come to Poland, because the Poles were tolerant. It's in the history books.

I find that we have thread starters with instigative thread titles, solely for stirring people up! What's with that BS!?

What on this blessed earth!? Every time Celinski and I bring up the facts that 2 Polish Catholics to 1 Polish Jew were killed, we are called dreary, and negative!?

No, we are NOT negative; we are pointing out FACTS that are glossed over. And, by the way, the term 'manic depressive' falls under 'bipolar disorder' and I'm definitely not that.

I actually write cheerful, silly children's stories, as a matter of fact. Perhaps Lesser, you are the one over reacting, every single time WW2 and the Holocaust are brought up.

We simply wish ALL the victims are honored, not simply one third; ALL victims, which is 18 million, not 6 million.

I posted an article, Bratboy - from a Jewish Austrian, from her point of view. Ergo, it was a microcosm, within a MACRO-cosm.

I will reiterate: I WASN'T ALIVE, I WASN'T THERE, in Poland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, nor Russia, nor even in the center of the Phillipines, nore Nagasaki during the drop of the A-bomb!

Szczery - I'd also like an elaboration, please. None of us have heard of this before now.

I concur with Celinski and Isthatu, on this one - I'd rather not take the bait lesser is taunting us all with.

Obviously you are being pretentious, espana - you are fortunate you have free speech...don't abuse it too much. I'm glad 'Hitler' is dead, and I don't even care what happened with his worthless carcass...oh, wait - they showed his bones, finally identifying him, on the history channel! Yes, the bastard was a CHICKEN, and took his own life, rather than stand trial. If you wish to call him 'Uncle', that is your prerogative - heaven help you.

Yes, M-G - there were also Russian and Ukranian victims of Stalin, but that's covered under his regime.

War is something that is not to be glorified; those who's land it's fought on, never feel any glory - only dead and the dying on the fields, of which they are often drawn into. War sucks, communist and fascist regimes whom use and abuse their people like cogs in a machine are wretched. May we all learn from this, and try to never, ever start another war as long as we live.

The growing anti-Semitism, I see it always grow the more people suffer from unemployment, and desiring to blame their bad luck on others...well, oftentimes, there isn't anyone else to blame, and we have to have a stiff upper lip, and go on, change jobs if necessary.

Many young people never had to fight for their right to stay in a country, and became too indulgent and used to having everything that their parents never had. It isn't a right to live like this, it's a privilege that's fast flying by. So oftentimes as in the past, people will pick on a race of people they perceive who are doing better than them, even if it's by a few pennies - smells like a repeat of history to me, and it doesn't smell good at all!

We all need to be responsible for ourselves, each and every one of us - and work together, not against each other. "Together we stand, divided we fall."

Leonardo da Vinci and William Shakespeare both weren't gay. Neither is isthatu. Elton John is Bisexual, had many girlfriends. Rock Hudson is the correct spelling - he was a handsome guy, whom gals swooned over - I sure didn't care about his personal life, lol.

And then, Freddy Mercury - the voice of an angel, whom I feel was taken too early. But there are a few musicians whom do sound like him out there. He was also bisexual, not gay. AND WHO THE F* cares!? Not my business - no one on the list paraded their sexuality near any children, nor in my home. Of course, if Elton John wasn't so old, say 30 years younger, I'd be tempted...

joepilsudski, a monument to all these brave women IS something long overdue!

I've been seriously contemplating on changing my first name to both my first and middle name(named after grandma), which is a pretty older family name, to honor grandma, who was raped by the Russians. She stayed silent for decades.

Just keeping their memory and bravery alive helps to prevent it from happening to other generations, in any country.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

Fascinating...I don't feel any hatred from any Poles on here, really.

People are people.

Perhaps with keeping memories alive as we go onward, we can live in the present, and keep the future safe for our families and friends, no matter what religion they believe.

I was truly touched by an older lady the other day, who was scammed into putting her house up as collateral for someone she hardly knew. All she wants right now, is a few people to go to New Mexico, and help her pack a few belongings from her house there, and bring them back. Before I even knew her religion, I offered to give her a few days of my time, purely because she's nearly 80 years old, and her children won't help her - but more than willing to sell her house for her.

When you are that age, a few items, books mean much to you. An elderly woman wanting her things, who am I to deny a few days of my time that will help bring her so much joy, so easily given?

That's how I feel for so many people who've endured so much over the past century - ever since I was a small child, I've given them my time many times a year, simply listening. For most, that's all they want, someone to remember them, recall their stories, and pass them down. Even my Jewish friends since I can recall that were Elderly, always been the same: tell our stories, good, bad, indifferent. We were here; we were ALIVE. Don't forget us, okay?

It's just that simple. I've enjoyed listening to all of these people, even the old guy playing Jazz, who thought I'd be afraid of him, simply because of the color of his skin.

People - are people. Everyone has a story, and it should be recalled, either by their children, their grandchildren, or strangers who cared enough to pause and listen.

That simple.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

Bah, I tan dark...I was called a rather nasty name when we moved to the Midwest from California. Was held at the California/Mexico border, mistaken for Mexican as a young teen - rather bizarre thing to go through, but heaps of comprehension.

Come full gamut, being called a 'Vampire' because I'm now pale, and stay inside during the heat of the day. Didn't anyone say that tanning is bad for you!? I also pointed out to the cretins who dared to call me a vampire that my family helped to lock up Elizabeth Bathory. But then, I'd be called prejudiced, if I named the group who call me 'Vampire.' I actually tested the word around two ethnic groups out here, and discovered that its ingrained as deeply as the fear as snakes & spiders. I chose to remove myself from being around those people who accused me out of fear earlier this this month.

I find their children are more open-minded.

But I can tell you that "Multi-culturalism" doesn't exist everywhere!!

What is wrong with the world? Who knows - people are trigger-happy to name call, even when there isn't a reason. At least I learned about prejudism young, and know that only fools are that way along with being antisemitic.
