News / Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy. [2554]

Democratically? Are you serious? If 38% of the people who voted, wanted a government, it is senseless to call it democratic-the electoral threshold is the main reason, which I think should be lowered to 1%-to showcase the actual will of the voters, including minorities. And to add to the absurdity, only 50% of the population voted-meaning that only 19% of Poles allowed to vote, chose to let Kaczynski do what he wants to our beautiful country. And no, I am not a PO supporter, but even more, i hate the idea that a conservative, russophobic, socialist, freedom neglecting, MINORITY rules over my beloved country.

Kaczyński is a conservative socialist
The worst kind- just look at his social program expenses- if he left the money inside the pockets of tax payers, and didn't spread them out unevenly, then the social injustice would be lowered to a minimum! He is also leftist because of the amount of control he wants to have over the people of Poland. And, whatsmore, he broke the constitution in yet another way-using many loopholes, he made another position of power in the polish government- because of him being the leader of PiS, the parliamentary majority, he has the power to control every voting session-but because he isn't the PM, he cannot be put to trial, for treason, for making bad decissions. Because of this, and making the new laws about the constitutional court needing 2/3 of the votes to deside anything, the whole pre-pis majority of judges must be against the law, for it not to be passed-and because one judge might, just on the fatal voting become ill, making it practically impossible to stop Kaczynskies plan.

History / What do Polish think of Gen. Pilsudski? [12]

Merged: Piłsudski-what would you do?

Out of all leaders Poland ever had, as most people agree, the greatest was Józef Piłsudski (my great-grandfathers friend). He was the best economical and military leader, that had either Krakow or Waraw had ever seen. Now imagine that a person of his intelligence and character was in the parliament opposition today (I cannot imagine him talking such mad ideas as PiS does)-what do you think he'd do, or plan?

Guys, I think some of you are forgetting that the biggest campaign sponsor (someone as influential as the Koch brothers in the USA) of the PiS party, is what you call an "bankster"-the most talented polish buisnessman-Father Rydzyk-probably the most influential politic Poland had ever seen since Piłsudski. I dare say, that if you call others banksters, look at who sponsors your party, and who gives it the strictest voters. The Plan&Sabotage party has it's powerhouse thanks to "Radio Maryja". And the old grannys keep on urging their grandchildren and children to vote for the "PiSuary"

Nocny Mrok

-actually if we used the same rule, Poland should be teaching the UK about tolerance, and the Mongols should be teaching Russians how to expand their empire, Poland should teaching Denmark social policies- time changes-people change-most of the people who voted for dictatorship in Germany are dead now, and right now, their democracy is actually better than the USA's (gerrymandering). I personally think that we should learn from Germany, and their mistakes-which we are clearly forgetting, letting a dictator make his way to the position of supreme leader-he ignores the constitution, (even though his parties name has "law" as half of their name), tries to control the media, his minister of foreign affairs trying to sell the rights of polish immigrants for making Macierewicz's plans to come true. Kaczyński is pretending to be Piłsudski, but he lucks the political talent, charisma(coming in as 3rd place in Warsaw after Kopacz and Petru) and Poland lacks the need for a dictator right now.
