I am a black African and a muslim(a rare minority in Poland) who has been living here for some time now. I'm not discrediting the fact that you have had awful experiences but then, I'll only say you are just unlucky. I have never had any of these experiences though I do hear people complaining of such.....

People stare at me but I don't consider that as being offensive because I remember doing the same when I was in my country. I was always staring at white people out curiosity so I assume that people who do it to me in Poland do it without malice.

Muslims are already here, and trust me many Poles are embracing Islam day in day out, if you care to know. If you really blame what the so called muslims did on all Muslims then i'm so sorry for you. If you have some time to spare then I'll urge you to read about the radical muslims who are inflicting pain on innocent human beings. Almost all of them were not even practical muslims.

Have you crossed the borders of Poland? Somewhere Netherlands Polish men I considered to be bicycle thieves and the girls are said to be prostitutes. That is just their opinion anyway, and it doesn't in any way represent the life style of a typical Polish yet the Dutch claim to be right in tugging Poles with such misdemeanor.

You're at it again! Mind you, most of the foreigners here actually have no plans of staying forever. The last time i checked, people who are practical Christians here in Poland were old people or does Christianity starts at old age in this place?

It baffles me a lot when I read these anti-muslim bashing on here. I am a black muslim but I have never really encountered any problem here. People I meet on daily basis seem to be very different from what I am reading on here, or are you guys just trolls?

If you intend to study in Poland with the budget you've already quoted here I bet it's going to be fine for you. As someone who studies here, I can tell you that $20,000 for 3 years will be more than enough(though your life lifestyle really matters). There is a school here in Poland where you can study for free for the first year as an International Student then pay 2400 EUR for the subsiquent years. It could be a good boaster in your case.


That puts you in a keen position to secure a job even whiles in school(In case you're considering a part-time job). You will have no problem securing a job in Poland even after graduation, and trust me, you don't need Polish to find a job with knowledge of the above mentioned languages (Polish is extremely important in your social life though).

I am giving you an honest advice; if you are interested in studying in Poland or living here, then do it ;). Else you're going to regret that you didn't take a chance. I am an international Student here in Poland and I'm enjoying every bit of it. I know most Poles don't like their own country. If they happen to stumble upon this thread, they will give you every farcical reason not to come here. GO FOR IT!!!

Most of the tutors are pushing to be offered courses which are taught in English even though most of them cannot speak English for 5 minutes without committing grammatical error.

Moreover, majority of our classmates are Polish, guess you want to know why? There are more study materials in English than there will ever be in Polish. Not a bad choice, huh? Next time you want to express your opinion regarding a topic, I will suggest you do a little research.

It is possible only on the condition that you have at least 50% of the ECTs being the same as the one offered in the Polish university. Also you will have to agree that you will take exams on all courses that do not much or couldn't be transfered (thus; if your ECTs fall short of the required sum at the end of the academic year). I'm currently working on a transfer for a friend who is due to commence in February. The first step is to get your most recent transcript, then send it to the Dean of the faculty of the university you intend to attend. If there are similarities then you stand a chance.


As far as I know, the Polish students I have studied with were paying some subsidized fees(not as much as we the non EU) if they opt to study in English. However, English Philology is free for the Polish.

Yeah! that is why the teachers are squeezing some time out of their busy schedules just to attend private English courses. Are you telling me they are not at liberty to turn down those proposals made by the administration?

That is 50% but that doesn't guarantee your admission but it qualifies you for the transfer. I hope I made myself clear enough?


If the transcript is not in English then you need to translate it to English. At this stage the legalization is not necessary. It's just for you know if your courses or ECTs could be accepted here. Anyway, you need to speak with the school, if possible request for the email of the Dean. That will make things easier for you.

I'm not going to argue about that because I haven't heard from any Muslim saying he is going to live Poland or has been attacked after the unfortunate incident in Paris. I still see the same faces I have been seeing in the mosque except that there are new faces popping up every Fridays. Believe or not, Poles are embracing Islam here in Wroclaw. If you doubt what I am saying then I can invite you to where we worship in order for you to meet and speak some of them. We're not as your media portray us.


You can practice Islam where ever you find yourself in this world. Thinking something is immoral is different from doing it. So yes, I abstain from what ever is unlawful in my religion.


Like I mentioned earlier, living in an environment where so many things are haram is not enough to prevent a muslim from living there. Of course if the environment was hostile that would have been a different case, which in my case it is not so I'll go on with my religion and they go on with their way of life. It's as easy as that.

Are you telling me that I have to be a Christian in other to be integrated here? My Polish friends respect my values and I respect theirs too. If there weren't differences then no one would have talk about integration. They don't give me a shot of Vodka or a bowl of soup that contains pork when they invite me for dinner. I don't hug your boys, neither do I kiss them on the cheek when greeting them :D. Besides that, none of my way of life is considered contrary to the Polish life style. Afterall there are some Poles who don't drink nor smoke.

I came here willingly, if you care to know. Don't even think the Muslims in Poland are here illegally. I have no reason what so ever to stay here for the rest of my life and the same applies to most foreigners I know here. So don't worry, we are already planning to leave in the near future. Don't be naive! Clossing Mosques, forbidding hijab among others you can name cannot stop a practical muslim from abadoning his religion. Those laws are already binding in some countries yet there are still Muslims.

I think you've been bias in understanding the Sharia. It's unlawful(sin) for any Muslim to live in any country(whether Muslim dominated country or the vice versa) and refuse to abide by the laws of that particular land. However, if the law says everyone is at liberty to practice any religion then it shouldn't be any problem making demands.


I highly doubt the credibility of the above statement. Islam doesn't teach its followers to force their religion on anyone.

I never advocated for Sharia in Poland. I'm from a Christian majority country where everyone is governed by the constitution. I'd rather promote it in my country if that was my intention after all I'm just here temporarily.

None of the former colonies(British) centers their educational system on the English Language. However, without a doubt, English is the official language so the educational system has to be run in English(not teaching of English only). The reason being that the natives of the colonies speaks more than one language(except Malta and Ireland) so in order to avoid the conflict of superiority complex they opted for the English Language.

I don't see why people on here think is almost impossible to get a job whilst studying in Poland without knowing the language. It entirely depends on what the person have to offer in the job market. I was once a student here(though I never worked) but I had colleagues who were non Europeans but they were having part-time jobs. Most of them had full time jobs waiting for them before they even graduated. If you speak French and English(even if you're non European), you stand a better chance of securing a job in Poland than an average Pole.

The name of Islam has been soiled due to ignorant Muslims like your kind. I know Muslims can eat meat from animals(provided we are allowed to eat that animal) killed by Christians and Jews but not the way they are being killed in the Polish abattoirs.

Don't get it twisted. No matter how you blend, there are still some elements you can't get ride of and it 'll automatically have significant or slight influence on the child, unless you're planning to let the woman raise the child alone.
