Genealogy / 25th / 26th Pomeranian Battalion (Infantry) Scotland WWII [5]

My family and I are trying to locate any information on the following units in Scotland during World War Two:

-25th Pomeranian Battalion of Infantry
-26th Pomeranian Battalion of Infantry

-1st Battalion of Grenadiers, Unit 4th Squadron of Military Police 278/45 K.U. 1-38822/45

My father was polish soldier in 1939, and we can follow him as he moved from £omża in 1939, through Bialystok toward Wilno, and then onto Wilno, Nowo-Święciany, Staro-Święciany

In 1940. After that we lose track of where he was and who he was with. We do know he was captured by the Wehrmacht around 1943. Any information would be helpful.

Thank-you

I appreciate the information provided in your reply, and Interesting comments you made concerning liberated Poles from Wehrmacht units. My sister found a British POW tag that identified the Monteville, France region as where British troops took control of my father after he walked away from a Wehrmacht unit he was conscripted into. This all makes more sense now after the information you posted, we just didn't connect the information together. My next step will be to identify the Wehrmacht units he was conscripted into and find out as much as I can there. Do you know if the current German authorities have kept any information on Polish conscripts?

Thank-you
