Real Estate / Polish citizen wanting to buy a house in Poland. [5]

So I was born in Poland and at the age of 7 my family and I moved to Canada, now I'm 25 and I'd like to buy a summer/2nd home in Płock or maybe Warszawa. Is there going to be a problem with the fact that I've been gone for so long? Am I going to be drafted to the army if I decide to stay for a year or two? Also what are some of the better sites for real estate in Poland?

Life / Favourite Polish movies? [107]

Merged: Best Polish movies of 2015/2014???

Just curious about some good newer Polish movies as I haven't had a chance to keep up. Any good comedies or crime dramas? What's your favourite movie in the past 2 yrs?

Wtf why did my thread get merged with this one? I'm talking 2014 and 2015, now people are just gonna flood it with stuff I've already seen. There should be a sub section for movies/entertainment instead of all this foreign affairs and political garbage that's ruining these forums.

Life / What items is Poland's market missing? [20]

A friend of mine is looking to start importing goods into Poland and I was curious to know what is something fairly common to find in your country of birth that is hard to find in Poland? Anything you really miss? I told him to post in here but he said these forums get hi-jacked by people arguing about politics/rules & regulations, please prove him wrong lol.

History / Vilnius Region must be returned to Poland! Right away! [10]

Wtf is everyone talking about in this thread, Wilno and Lwów are Polish cities (big ones) so yea it's a huge deal and it's not like this was hundreds of years ago, there's people alive today that can attest to the fact that not long ago walking up and down the main streets of these cities was no different then walking up and down the streets of Warszawa, just because Stalin forced 1.5 million poles to move to Siberia doesn't make these cities magically Lithuanian or Ukrainian...

Life / Moving to Krakow next year, 5000 zloty net. [48]

What are you guys talking about? 5k PLN is way more than enough to live good for a single guy in Poland. Nojas is the only one saying the truth here. I just came back from living in Poland for the past 4 months and I was living like a king there for $2000 Canadian dollars a month which is roughly 5600PLN, I was literally living like a rockstar. The average wage is $3200PLN, so from what people are saying I should have seen the street littered with corpses from people not being able to survive. From what I seen most people were living a pretty good life so I have no idea what your talking about.

Life / Costs of living in Bialystok [17]

Please ignore what dominic is saying, he runs to all these types of threads and spams them, not sure if he's some ultra nationalist that doesn't want outsiders in Poland or whatever but I just got back from there, my sister and her husband live an hour away from Warsaw, they have 2 kids and only make 4500zl after taxes and they live quite well.

The average income after tax in Warsaw is around 3750 PLN, or approximately $850 USD per month. This figure shows how Warsaw is a wealthy city not only in the national economic sphere, but also regionally. In other important cities of Poland, the average salary is considerably lower, including Krakow or Wroclaw.

otodom.pl/oferta/komfortowa-szeregowka-do-wynajecia-ID3keFa.html#gallery [15] Full house with 3 bedrooms in the city = 2800zl.
rent will be your biggest expense, rule of thumb is if you want a comfortable life you will spend as much as your rent in expenses/month.

Dominic is over the top when he talks about savings, I'm guessing he's a multi-millionaire now after reading his wild posts. From what I've seen in real life most people don't save much in there savings account whether here in Canada or there in Poland. Usually savings come from real estate, when you buy & pay off your property plus the % it grows over 20 or so years usually pays for your retirement. But 90% of the time people don't start making big money from work or other ventures until they get older and wiser, between 40-60yrs old is the magic number when people begin to understand the world and really generate large sums of cash with moderate effort, at least that's what I've seen.

So to sum up, you will need 5600zl/month lets say 6,000zl for good measure. This is of course after taxes.

Life / Costs of living in Bialystok [17]

youtube.com/watch?v=NhHgrt7J0vk
here's a link to people being asked how much you need to live comfortably in Poland and the general consensus is 3000zl after tax with the lowest answer being 2000zl and the highest 12,000zl (for a family, I'm guessing of 6) which lets be honest the guy had a look on his face of the typical pole who loves complaining and I'm sure he meant before taxes.

youtube.com/watch?v=soikRe1_bb4
another video with general consensus of 2500-3000zl and one women saying that for a family of 4 the salary must be between 7000-8000zl, keep in mind this video was shot near the centre of Krakow which is not Bialystok and more expensive.

Life / Costs of living in Bialystok [17]

@Jardinero
I've been to Poland twice this year for a month at a time specifically looking at the cost of living. So the smell of bacon is real fresh with me. I think the problem comes from foreigners who go to Poland expecting to live the life they were living back home and also being charged a lot more for same things only because you aren't from there. For example I met a guy who got tricked into paying 700zl a month extra because he had an English accent when speaking Polish, people see he has money and they jump on the opportunity. Another example is when I went to the gym and I paid for a drop-in because I didn't have a membership (I speak Polish without an accent) the guy who came in after me did the exact same thing and got charged 10zl more because he didn't speak Polish perfectly. These are small examples of what I had seen often, and when you start wanting to buy high-end/luxury items and services(which foreigners are drawn to) it gets A LOT worse.

News / Polish Independence Day March in Warsaw. Is it going to be the biggest march yet? [1530]

@delphiandomine
Why are you such a hateful person? All your comments are so dark. You're like an extremist from the Left, just let people be. Who said anything about Russia? The main thing is to never let Poland turn into one of those hardcore over the top liberal nations. I watched a transgender man beat the hell out of a woman in an MMA state sanctioned fight, this is more of a metaphorical example of what happens when things go to far with PC culture. This is the fire that will consume the west and I don't want my grandchildren to be in that fire.

News / Polish Independence Day March in Warsaw. Is it going to be the biggest march yet? [1530]

Also I attended the march yesterday from 3-9pm and in that time I didn't see any racists. It was pretty much all families and students. I seen a black guy happily enjoying himself and a few Indian people, it was nice. Just by the 'law of averages' I should have seen at least some skinheads due to the shear number of people but nope, now the question is why the propaganda? Also I would say that estimates of 200k+ attendees are about right.

What's your problem? I was actually there, your not going to convince me of what I saw with my own eyes. My phone is full of videos and pictures from yesterday there were no incidents that I saw which is weird considering the amount of people. Just for context every year in Vancouver we have 'the celebration of lights' and every single year there's at least ten to fifteen fist fights that I see with my own eyes. I was absolutely ready to see that yesterday considering the amount of alcohol consumed in Poland. Still scratching my head as to why I didn't at least see some young testosterone fueled dummies going at it.

@delphiandomine
Wait a minute, are you saying that you didn't even attend?!?! Wow, from your in depth knowledge of the event I would have thought you were there documenting everything. Wow just wow...Pathetic

If you hate Poland and it's people so much why do you live here? I disliked the western way of life so much that I sold my business and left ALL my friends behind to move to Poland, it should be a no brainer for you to move back to the west where life is sooooo much better apparently. Stop pushing your crazy liberal views on normal everyday people, no amount of kicking and screaming is going to change anybody's mind on these forums. As for evidence, I'm not sure what you're wanting proof of but I've got tons of pics and videos although none of them are going to sing to your narrative.

Work / Moving back to Poznan from America - jobs situation? [13]

Awesome to hear, I just did the same thing after 24years in Vancouver, Canada (consistently ranked top 10 most livable cities) and it's 10x better here. The future really is here, liberalism will be the fall of the west. The future is incredibly bright here, I was sooooo scared to buy that one way ticket. It turns out that buying that one way ticket was the hardest part of it all. I would highly recommend starting a business here even if your not business savvy, just do your due diligence. The economy is booming and middle class is exploding, introduce something the middle class likes back in the state's just take into consideration cultural differences and enjoy.

Lol why are you even on these forums if you hate Poland so much? I've never seen you refer to Poland in a positive light. Why are you here? And don't exaggerate, I've found business easier to do here then in Canada or the state's, the 90's and 00's are over stop living in the past, the market here is ripe and ready for anybody with half a brain.

Lol sounds like you've been watching a few to many conspiracy theory videos, put away your tin foil hat. Knowing Polish people I can't imagine them bending over and allowing things like that to happen.
