Life / Cheapest telecommunication provider in Poland? [4]

Hello,

For somebody who is mainly writing text messages (95%, 5% phone calls) to various providers such as orange, heya or play, which would be the cheapest provider to go with?

Thanks

Food / Where to buy cheap nuts and seeds (for muesli) in Warsaw? [2]

Hello,

Do you any good source where I can buy reasonably priced nuts and seeds for my muesli?

Supermarkets such as Biedronka (Almonds 200g for 6 PLN, pumpkin seeds 200g for 5 PLN), Carrefour (do not remember the exact prices) and others are very expensive and daily markets do not have them. Not to start from organic markets.

So where to go for cheap nuts and seeds, especially in Warsaw?

Thanks!

Any ideas where I can maybe buy nuts on the scale?

Well, I discovered that cheap nuts can be bought on every local market (targ). They are cheaper than in the supermarket.

Especially recommendable are Volumen on Kasprowicza street, metro station Marymont or Hala Mirowska in Jan Pawel II street.

Study / A good Yoga school in Warsaw [3]

Hello,

Right now I'm practising Yoga at the University of Warsaw. It is all right, however, I think I can find something more sophisticated. Furthermore 70 PLN a month is very expensive for a university course.

Can you recommend any school in Warsaw?

Thanks!

Study / A good Yoga school in Warsaw [3]

Sorry, I forgot to emphasise that I prefer a place on the western side. Hence, somewhere closer to the city centre.

Bielany and Mokotow would also be appreciated.

I subscribed now to jogafoksal.pl until the end of the month to test them. They offer a lot of different times so almost everybody can find his desired time frames. Furthermore they have two schools in ul. Dluga and ul. Foksal which are very central located. Students pay 30 PLN weekly.

The only downside, however, is that the practices are very therapeutic and slow (if I recall it correctly it's the Iyengar style). I'd prefer a bit faster joga style though.

Life / Strong wind in Warsaw - is it normal? [6]

Hi,

I live in Warsaw since 5 weeks and basically every 2nd day I experience strong wind gusts.

Is that normal for that mega city?

Being a cyclist this is pretty annoying...

Hmm all right. Need to think of more aerodynamic on my bike then.

Probably a recumbent bike but then I'll certainly die from other things than wind gusts. ;)

Cheers

Travel / From Warsaw to Bialystok on a bike [12]

Hi guys,

Which is the most recommended way for cycling from Warsaw to Bialystok on a touring bike with appropriate road conditions?

I thought of cycling on E67 via Ostrow Mazowiecka. Is this the way to go?

Thanks for your responses guys. You really scared me off a bit going for E67. Dead cyclist along the road? Sounds as it's a pretty common thing...

So maybe really going for CR88. However, I cannot find this route. Is it the same as road 634?

I attached you both route plans.

So you would go for the alternative route which is a bit longer but quieter, right? What about the road conditions there?

I do not want to end up on gravel roads but also not dead along E67.

Travel / From Warsaw to Bialystok on a bike [12]

Hi guys,

Back again in Warsaw and it's time to tell you the truth.

Eventually I took the S8 / E67 route via Wyskow, Ostrow, Zambrow and Bialystock after another friend of mine warned me that there will not be any shoulder on the back roads.

So accepting the more traffic on the main route I must acknowledge that it was a good decision. There road and shoulder conditions were preponderantly good, except the small stage between Wyskow and Ostrow. But even there you have your shoulders all the time.

Furthermore especially the truck drivers were driving very slowly and carefully when passing me, and if possible, taking another lane.

Cheers, did the way back without a stop. Was a new challenge but I made it in 08:55 which is really not bad for ~200km. :)

Travel / Hitchhiking from Warsaw to Berlin via Poznan and Frankfurt (Oder) [7]

Hi guys,

Tomorrow I wanted to hitchhike from Warsaw to Berlin via Poznan and Frankfurt (Oder) since this seems to be the best way to go.

I never hitchhiked in Poland and very rarely in general so I'm asking for some advice.

Where should I position myself in Warsaw?

What's the best time for it? Already tonight, tomorrow in the early morning or tomorrow midday?

What should be written on my signpost?

What else should I'm aware of?

Thanks :)

Travel / Hitchhiking from Warsaw to Berlin via Poznan and Frankfurt (Oder) [7]

Hi guys,

It turned out to work very well. I caught a TIR driver who went to Poznan. Truck driver may always be good to catch since they often seek some communication and don't pay the petrol themselves.

Personally I recommend to somehow leave Warsaw first before trying to hitchhike. A good place is Skierniewice which is pretty close to the motorway. This is were I ended up and caught up the driver.

Merged: Confused about normal / recycling bins in Poland

Hello,

I'm a little bit confused of what goes into the normal bin and what into the recycling bin.

Let's take all the packing that has the following signs on it.

Where do they go?

Thanks!

Law / Is there a 14 day guarantee or something where the seller is required to refund or replace faulty merchandise? [4]

I bought a new phone on Allegro on Monday, today it suddenly stopped working. Sony online support confirmed it's a faulty device and said to contact the seller for a refund or exchange.

I contacted the seller today he said to go to a Sony Store to start the warranty process. I'm wondering however if the seller has a requirement by law to replace the faulty device if it's within some time period? I bought the phone 5 days ago. The seller is a GSM reseller and I got a Faktura VAT 23% with it.
