Genealogy / Does anyone know of the Mical family from Laka, Galicia? [2]

This is my first post here, hello. My grandfather Joseph ( maybe Josef) Mical immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA some where near 1910. His birth date is March 19,1890 and his military registration in 1918 shows he was born in Laka, Galicia.

He married in Wilmington, Delaware, USA and had several children. My father Zigfrit ( later called Zeidfred) Casmir Mical was born in in 1917. I'm told my grandfather called this son "the gypsy" because of all his children, only my father had skin darker than his other children. He had almost black wavy hair and blue eyes. I often wondered how much influence the Tartars had on the genetics of Poles in the southern part of the country, adding the asian characteristics to the blend.

Does anyone know of the Mical family from Laka, Galicia? Do any other members of the Mical family have light or darker skin? I have a niece who's hair has the texture of an African, everyone else has soft, wavy hair. Interesting. Perhaps I am a somehow related to the Hausa tribesman. Does anyone have more information about the Hausas or the Mical family? I would love to here from anyone interested in sending a response.

Also, I have live in this country all of my 65 years and have never heard any remarks about Poles not being white.

Hope to hear from all of you soon.
Elaine
