I thought about Wroclaw, but the start up in Wroclaw is too expensive, and is far away, so I think costs will be higher then profits, where Olesnica is cheaper but still loads of people commute to wroclaw each day put live in Olesnica.

We thinking of doing both used and new, depending on what we can get imported etc.

@hague: So you are partyly SA? You live in Poland? Not found mny South Africans this side, there seem to be a few in Warsaw but not in Wroclaw.

I also thought about the South AFrican products but not sure how customs will feel about it....My brother once sent me a parcel from SA and by the time it had to got to me it had been ransacked by customs, things confiscated etc.. BEsides we make our own biltong here now:)

Okay, I did not mean benefits as in I want to go there and live off other peoples tax payments. I was just enquiring whether or not the return for paying high taxes each month is beneficial. I work hard, pay my taxes and do my bit for this country. It was just an enquiry.

@ Krynski: We have some friends over there, one is Norwegian and the other is English and both highly recommend it there. Be it that the one might be slightly biast seeing as she is Norwegian:), but I did some research into it and th start up seems very expensive and my question was aimed at is it worth uprooting my son here to move him there? We are content here it is just that to go back to my country for holiday to see my family is almost impossible with what we earn. But I guess the true question is: "is the grass greener on the other side?"

Yip, I know it was built byt Germans. The house next to ours has a number printed on the barn roof which not sure if that is indicator of year it was built. We have found some bullets and grenades while redoing the garden etc so know that much. I tried to track down original plans of the house but that is nearly impossible. The person who we bought from has since disappeared off the face of the earth so he is no help, but I do remember him saying that A german couple came and enquired about the house and whether or not he had moved the stairs.....slightly odd.

Will try the German route, never thought of trying to search like that. Thanks.

Like anyone, there are certaint hings I miss and certain things I don't. I still hold hope that it will turn around and become the country it has the ability to become.

I was born in Durban, but we moved to Cape Town when I was 13, and lived there till I was 21 until i went overseas and well haven't lived there since. We go back every year and maybe one day in the future we will settle back there, but for now Poland is our home. We thought about Australia, New Zealand, but think we may just stick it out here. Poland also has a lot to offer, if you willing to put the sweat and tears into it.

I am not Polish by birth, but I live in Poland, and now have dual nationality. and I am proud of what Poland represenets, maybe there are faults, but every country has pros and cons, and well maybe I don't agree on ervything that is happening here in Poland, I'll fly my flag in faith that one day it will be better, that one day it will be a country to be truly proud of, but that change takes time, takes patience and well I'm happy to put the hard work in, maybe it will count, maybe not but surely it is better to live with hope then in the anger and resent you seem to live in.
