Work / Moving to Poland (from the UK) to take a teaching position. Tips? [34]

Coming for the cold bit!! Walking boots, dont change money in GB its a crap rate theres millions of independent kantors here, if your changing big money take a Pole and haggle. Its ******** that Polands a crime ridden hole, GB is far more dangerous, friday night in ....... uk. Its generaly just annoying beggars in warsaw train station(nie mam, and keep walking) or leaving things unattended (take your bag to the bog on the train) There generaly isnt drunken bordome crime like GB, just petty opetunist for money. Being ripped off, check your change!. Good luck teaching .

News / Should government monitor the net in Poland? [38]

Thankfully freedom of speech laws are strong in the jurisdiction that this site is based...

would you care if they wern't?

Wonder if theyll enforce this the same way as speeding fines, ie if you say it wasnt you they cant do anything.(so ive been told anyway)

News / Should government monitor the net in Poland? [38]

They turn a blind eye on worthless sarcastic comments which only clutter the forums...

Sarcastic comments worthless! not if they teach ignorant haters about themselves, thus eliminating the need for us to pay for prisons, just cos someone doesnt like someone else. UP WITH SARCASM.

Work / is 2500zl a fair enough wage for on average 50 hours a week (Poland)? [22]

2500zl a month for around 50 hours

Spot on wage for labouring, 10zl hr cash is right for strong drunks so he obviously thinks higher of you, im paying the same hourly 12 for the labours ive got and theyre keen semi skilled nondrinkers, have heard of firms paying 5/6 for village lads, sometimes not paying at all. If your gonna stay might be worth taking a plastering corse in the uk. (couple of days) as they havent caught on to wet plastering here yet.(still scraping away for hours) you can bang a room out in half the time and earn twice the ammount (still nowhere near uk plastering price hence no competition) . good luck

(in demand)

is that why you moved

Work / English with a Polish girlfriend. Experience in engineering, machines - working in Poland? [19]

There are plenty of opportunities in Poland if you take time to think things through, you don't just have to be an English teacher.

Too right.

because I want to stay in England

This is gonna be your biggest problem as things will never quite measure up to you Idealised vision of how things could be in GB. As was my first time living here, I got homesick.

The question youve gotta ask yourself is why, and if the things can be counted on one hand, come/go.

What are the chances to find work for me ?

finding good work is a lot harder than setting yourself up, outside big cities anyway. Hit the ground running if you can itll be a lot easier.
