History / Poles and Russians -- love-hate relationship? [209]

Was immediately called "rusek" and "kacap" after disclosing the fact that I'm Russian while trying to communicate to Poles in their language. Is there some kind of new-wave anti-Russian nationalists? In that game mostly younger people spend their time rather than "over twenty-five, employed and married" people. I heard something about young patriotic organisations.

It freaking hurts. Never called anybody in my life an ethnic slur unless they'd called me first.
So tell me Poles, why shall I carry a shame any government on this territory deserved in the past three centuries??? I was brought up to be friendly despite of the race or nationality. I do not joke about Ukrainians, Georgians, Poles, black people, whatnots.

You don't joke about others nationalities? It is hard to believe that, but if so be aware that you are missing big chunk of human knowledege

I'm sorry, what I meant to say is that I do not joke in a offensive manner. There are slightly offensive jokes, and there are very offensive and cruel jokes. I do not use the latter form. What I also wanted to say is that I don't resort to namecalling especially if the person I'm talking to is neutral. It was 3 or 4 AM in the morning at the time I posted so you can imagine some degree of inability to explain myself :)

Thanks everybody who answered =) I found a video that is somehow related to chauvinism. Hey it can be applied to Russians too :)
