Classifieds / Upcoming Festivals in Krakow! [15]

I'm planning summer vacation... yes I know a little early but I can't wait. I was wondering if anyone has ever been to the Coke Festival and if its worth the 200z for two days plus camping. Also about the atmosphere and people at these types of festivals. I have never been to a concert of any kind in Poland so I think hearing a few stories will give me a better picture. I have been to a festin or two and they've been pretty crazy. ;p

Classifieds / Upcoming Festivals in Krakow! [15]

*sigh Gdynia. I wish I could go there. Have never been even in Gdansk yet. opener.pl's lineup doesn't look too bad. I think I will have to do some convincing to get to this coke festival though. Anyone know about any other concerts? Like Golec uOrchestra coming to Pacanów? Stuff like that.

Life / I was cursing Poland daily, then returned home, but now thinking of going back.. [39]

Living in Poland. Really it's just a dream to me. The first time I visited Poland I realized there is more to my life. I think I just fell in love with the culture and history and the closeness of all the people. I was born in Canada but both my parents were born in Poland and moved because of the war... Sometimes you get the feeling you don't fit in and thats how I feel right now. If you ever have the opportunity to go back i would take it first chance I got. Everything just seems so much more meaningful there. You just can't explain it.

Work / Study in Poland to learn Polish language? [10]

Yes, it is possible to study in Poland IN the English language. And to learn the polish language. It really depends what you are studying. If you are in the Sciences I would say go for it they have some great programmes and in English too. It's a completely other story though if you want to major in English; because you might aswell go to a English speaking country to get the best degree.

Life / How laid-back is the small villages lifestyle in Poland? [14]

I actually like the Polish country side. I have spent three summers in a little village because I have family there and it is so much fun. It is though kinda scary how everyone knows each other so well and how all the old Babcias sit on benches and gossip. Everyone knows eveything about one another. If you just walk down the street and you don't live there everyone starts talking.

Language / Is it too late for me to learn Polish..? [65]

Offer to swap languages in your area; English for Polish and if you're able watch TV serials via iitv.info which has Polish subtitles for popular TV programmes

Wow! Thank you so much, this is really great! I have been searching for a way to watch Polish Tv online! But what do you mean by offering to swap languages in your area?
