Real Estate / Poland apartment hunting for Airline workers [3]

Just another question about apartments and advice. We moving to Poland for 6 months with a one year old.
Important to us is a close bus route to airport. I like the old town. We've found one nice apartment but the price seems high 4000 PL, one sleeping bedroom, kitchen with a bed, and a large dining room, fully furnished, Wifi, 60m, Królewska 3R 60m. Close to the University. And has a bus route to the airport. However, the apartment is full of furniture and things to break. It doesn't have a balcony (which I would love). I'd also need there to be a food market or grocery store around within walking distance. As we will forgo a car.

Is this acceptable for our needs? I seem to think it is expensive but like the Srodmiescie area. Or is there another area that would work. Bielany?

From previous threads in 2008, I've been fumbling around other links oferty.net and domiporta.pl.

Any advice?
Thanks, Kiki

Life / Infant Formula - Baby food - Warsaw [10]

Just arrived in central Warsaw. Our luggage and stroller went missing. The baby ate all the emergency supplies of formula milk.

Does anyone know where there is a large selection of baby formula? Specific names of stores.

Ideally, would like to get Nestle Good Start in cans or Hipp. I would love to find something in can (or powder with simple instuctions of mixing)

I went to SMYK food store, various medium grocery stores, nothing really for a 13 month old. I bought Bebiko Jonior 3, but our baby will not eat it (infact will vomit).

Please help.
Thanks,
Kiki

Food / Best Farmer's Market in Warsaw area? [14]

Thanks everyone! Great advice.

A year has passed and I can say that Hala Mirowska is closest to the kind of market I was looking for. This is good for big purchases and multiple items. However, for occassional items that are in season, and local items, like berries or potatoes, I buy from the street vendors.

The mushrooms - chanterelles - I buy from Hala Mirowska. Near there are individuals with no stand who sell only chanterelles, they only have a basket of mushroom, a measuring cup, and bags, and a stool for sitting. My Polish friends in Warsaw, and living abroad tell me to be careful with the mushrooms. So, from habit I only stick to places I've bought from before and look at every forest mushroom before I cook them.

I'll have to check out Broniszewo.

Thanks again everyone!
