I think its ruined the pub culture in Ireland. Took all the craic out of it and sterilized it. I read yestaerday that up to 600 pubs have closed in Rural Ireland because of it.

I have a son who's half Polish and I like the idea of him growing up in a society that's new and exciting and on the up. I'll be staying in Warsaw. I miss Ireland but its not far away.

also. you can now buy cans of beer for 90 cent in liddle and drink them at home with a fag (cigarette) It makes no sense to go to the pub...the irony being that many non smokers spend their saturday nights in cramped living rooms with smokers

Sorry. Read it wrong....You are entirely correct. Its one of the reasons I love Warsaw. A beer a fag and a chat..Thats civilisation.
I meant visiting someones home is ok but it doesn't compare socially to the pub.

Thats the proper attitude. I'm Irish and live in Warsaw and I'm sick to death of hearing expats moaning about the same things over and over. I always change the subject when people start this now.
Ive lived in France and Korea and China and expats do this there aswell.....
Change the record.
Also, how annoying to use a word, spacial acuity, and then explain it without being asked. Why use the word at all? How arrogant.

The Brits make me laugh. They spent the last thousand years going where they werent wanted and now that they only have their stupid little country left, they get mad when people come there.
I cant understand why anyone would go there. Bad food, bad schools, bad teeth, bad weather. Pork scratchings. Cant speak their own language properly.

I obviously don't think he is the Goebbels. But I think that he was the most notorious spreader of misinformation of all time so I think the jibe was fair. He realistically might be working for CNN however so that would be an accusation.

Irish people can work and still claim many benefits. This does not mean they are evading tax. Id say we are about the same as everyone else.
Our problems have FA to do with tax evasion.
A note to expats: This is why I never b*tch about Poland even though I live here. I dont know enough yet to make pronouncements. I hate it when foreigners make stupid statements like this about Ireland.
