Australia / Any nice Polish people in Perth? [78]

Merged:Polish people in Perth / Surrounding areas

Hi everyone. My name is Robert and I live NOR and have been in australia since I was 7. I am 33 now and virtually married to an Aussie gal. I've always felt kinda 'different' and without a close sense of belonging to any culture in Australia so I thought 'HEY! Why not look at your OWN culture lol.' If any like minded blokes or gals feel the same way and want to chat / catch up for a meetup somewhere, that'd be cool. I know there's a Polish restaurant in Mount Lawley called 'Rembrandt's' which serves pretty good tucker.

Anyways, drop a post with your email address and we can all get together.

With gratitude,

Speccie (Robert)

Love / Filipina having a relationship with a Polish Man [95]

Quoted by Castanea: "I hope you guys don't have kids. Why isn't his mother beating him over the head?" (from page 1)

Castanea, I'm surprised with your racist, dogmatic comments and behaviour, you haven't been beaten over the head. This planet is heading towards globalization and guess what, there's very little you can do to stop it. The places which are thinking the way you are thinking are being left behind and slowly wiped out either economically or through natural disasters. WAKE UP my friend, and join in the harmony. Don't be a afraid of change.

With gratitude,

Speccie

Australia / Any nice Polish people in Perth? [78]

Ah my dear Polish friends. Sorry for not maintaining this thread. Yes NOR is North of the River. I must say that living in Australia, with a Polish background, leaves me feeling a lack of depth in my culture. You know when you speak and joke in your native language, connect with your people....i miss that. On the other hand I love Australia. I came here when I was 7 years old (35 now). I returned to Poland 20 years later and knocked on the front door of my biological father's apartment. His mother answered and we greeted. He came home an hour later. He was not what I expected. Both his mother and he died three years later. I am back in Australia. I am missing something, even though I am in love and loved. I don't know what it is...culture? Or something even deeper? Anyone else in Australia missing something? I feel like my debt is with Poland and that my life needs to be Polish...Words don't give the feeling enough justice. Thank you all :)

With Gratitude,

Speccie
