Language / How to pronouce Szczygieł last name? [26]

"seagull"? This is a joke, right?

"seagull' is pronounced /ˈsiːgʌl/
"szczygieł" is pronounced /ˈʃʧɨgʲew/

Not a single sound is the same so how on earth this can be correct?

Language / to be substituted (with reference to football) [7]

He will be substituted in 10 minutes...
He has just been substituted...
He was substituted because of injury...
Player no. 9 was substituted by Player no. 17
The Manager substituted him with another player

On zostanie zmieniony za 10 minut. (10 = dziesięć)
On został właśnie zmieniony.
On został zmieniony z powodu kontuzji.
Zawodnik nr 9 został zmieniony przez zawodnika nr 17. (nr = numer, 9 = dziewięć, 17 = siedemnaście)
Trener zmienił go na innego zawodnika.

The pronoun on is usually omitted, unless there is special need of it.

In a football context I think the correct verb to use is zmieniać / zmienić and NOT zastępować / zastąpić...

I think zmieniać is slightly more frequent, but in general both are acceptable here.

Właśmie, konstuzji, zawdonika, wymninił, zawiodnika

You could try better, too.
No wonder people find the Polish language difficult. So many words that they cannot look up in dictionaries.
