History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

I come from a Jewish family who lived in Poland till 1935, and never have I heard that Poles hated them. On the contrary - they had many Polish friends.

I live in Israel and whenever I hear about "Poles Hating Jews", I get furious. It is well known that Poles, and not a handful of saints, but many thousands of them, endangered themselves by saving Jews during WW2.

My family comes from Poland, they have not experienced antisemitism and have never been called "Bzyd".

Poles were my family's friends, they never called us "Bzyd", they even held my grandfather of such high esteem that they asked him to be a judge. Yet there were strings attached - if he wanted the position he had to be converted to Christianity.

My grandfather disagreed even that he was not a religious Jew, he was even against religion - never took part in Jewish feasts. He explained that it was beneath his dignity to leave a small poor people for a position.
