Is there a similiar key assignment available in Outlook Express for emails or do I have to
write it in Word and copy paste to Outlook Express?

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

I have known quite a few immigrants to the U.S. With rare exception, they are pleased to be in the U.S. They work hard, save their money and demand their children get a good education. It doesn't matter if they're Polish, Iranian or whatever.

The illegal immigrant is the problem.

Are those 12 hour work days your idea or a requirement of the job? It's your choice. Cut down on your working hours, then you'll have less money and more time for friends, etc. Find another job. Or, if America isn't working out for you, go back to Poland.

Language / Windows XP Polish Font help needed [25]

As Posith indicates, adding the Polish language is the best thing to do because you then can have the Polish alphabet available in virtually all programs. MS Work, Excel, etc.

Also, you can switch back and forth in the middle of document between languages.

There is a good article written by Grzegorz Jagodziński about setting this up at:

grzegorj.w.interia.pl/keyboard/indexgb.html - Polish Keyboard Drivers

In addition to using the Alt key, you can also use the ~ key (tilde) followed by a to get ą and so forth.

Love / What's the way to seduce a Polish girl ? [64]

Ranj: What exactly is a "slut"?

Slut is a term for a person who is deemed sexually promiscuous. The term has traditionally been applied to women and is often used as an insult or offensive term of disparagement. Slut has also been reclaimed as a slang term in the BDSM, polyamorous and gay and bisexual communities (see alternative uses below). It may be used by the person concerned as an expression of pride in their status, or as an expression of enviousness in the "success rate" of others. The term is not interchangeable with ***** or prostitute as those terms denote a person who engages in sex for money.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

MareGaea: It was my bloody Bar-Mitzwa and they were not invited because they were Protestant.

A Dutch thing? Here in the states I have been invited to a few Bar-Mitzva here in the states by Jewish friends, and was glad to attend because we knew the boys involved very well.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

osiol: If you want to rule, it helps first to divide.

If you want to keep ruling, it also helps to divide.

Who gets the blame when things are not going well in your country. Certainly not the people in charge. They blame the problems on a convenient minority.

Mugabe blames Zibabwe's problems on white farmers and the UK trying to reestablished a colony. His corruption and incompetence has nothing to do with it.

Idi Amin expelled some 50,000 Indians from Uganda because God told him to do so. Boy, did that solve Uganda's problems.

Prior to WWII German Jew were well integrated into German society. Most considered themselves nationally as Germans and religiously as Jewish or no religion. They had served the German nation well during WWI.

If you don't have Jews, you target gays, or Lutherans, or Blacks or whoever convienent.

EbonyandBathory: people out here still think of me as a "slow, little" Iowan

You must get that impression corrected. Remind them you are a "slow, little" Missourian from the Ozarks.

EbonyandBathory: America, for all her faults, has nearly always provided the thing people come here looking for; hope and opportunity.

Whether you were born in America or came as immigrant, if you don't like it, leave. There's no exit tax; you can take all of your worldly goods, money, etc. No one will stop you. Don't let the door hit you in the ass as you leave.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

in Canada, because of 'hate crime' laws, a non-Jew cannot use the word 'Jew' in public

I think you have badly mis-understood what constitutes a "hate crime." Saying "Die, Jew, die" while stomping the person would be a hate crime. Saying "I don't think Jews are fair in their treatment of Palestines" would not.

Law / Laundromats in Poland? Good business venture or not? [90]

They're called Duds and Suds. Duds for the clothes you wash and suds for the foam on top of the beer. Have one a few minutes from here.

there was a laundromat that served beer and food in one city in the USA

Language / Windows XP Polish Font help needed [25]

I need the font to be Polish in the notepad.

Spend $50 and have your local computer repair shop or dealer install the Polish Language set. Or do it yourself. It is very easy. Go to Microsoft help from your Start Menu and input "language."

This is what it says:

"To switch languages or keyboards from the taskbar

Open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.

On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages, click Details.

Under Preferences, click Language Bar.

In the Language Bar Settings dialog box, select the Show additional Language bar icons in the Notification area check box.

Click OK three times.

Click the language icon or the keyboard icon on the taskbar to display a menu.
Click a language or keyboard."

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

Our middle class is under constant threat by loss of jobs and an unfair tax burden. The only part of society that has increasing income are the rich. Thanks to the last eight years of government, their tax burden has declined.

Jobs are constantly being eliminated by consolidation of companies. People without jobs cannot buy goods, so I think you will see a very significant decline Americans' consumption of consummer goods.

Congressmen and women are a joke. They have been bought and paid for by corporations. For example, Liberman, the "independent", says he won't vote for health bill with a public insurance option. How independent can he be when he has accepted in excess of $3,000,000 from the health and insurance sectors over the course of his career. How does a campaign contribution differ from a bribe?

A vast majority of Americans think the US is best country in the world and in many ways is. Hard working people can become very wealthy, although most don't.

There are paradoxes. The US has excellent health care, if you have money. About 1/3 of its citizens don't have health insurance. Lose your job, your health insurance goes with it. Overall, the US ranks 37th in world. It is the only industrialized country without universal coverage.

Travel / Is it safe to travel to Poland? [194]

Recently visited for 10 days, had a great time. People friendly, patient with my Polish, and we felt completely safe. Did nothing stupid, however, like going to rauchy areas of town.

We flew into Krakow from Chicago. They processed the entire plane rather quickly through border control. If you have nothing to declare, you walk with your luggage through a door into the airport. There were dogs sniffing luggage, so don't be stupid with trying to smuggle goodies.

Language / Too many English words in the Polish language! [709]

A language benefits from imported words. A major portion of English is borrowed words from Latin, French, Chinese, Japanese, etc. and English is all the richer for it. Japanese has freely borrowed many English terms. I imagine in a few decades as the Chinese star rises, we and much of the world will find ourselves borrowing and using Chinese words in our languages.
