"Frugal and thrifty" would be positive..."stingy" is negative.
You could also say "self assured" or "self confident" say to "arrogance".

But that isn't what stereotypes are about...

It cannot really be denied that it's quite easy to find.

I'm sure you can find easily stupid Poles everywhere too...not to mention stingy Scots...

I get worked up over this kind of stuff. But a German shouldn't be lecturing a Pole on tolerance.

Which German does this?
The poll was about sympathies...
And you right now are doing everything to make me dislike Poles, if it's that what you want...congrats! No reason to complain afterwards if they keep disliking you...

It shows the evil and intolerant nature of the Kraut.

I hate the German. A good German is a dead one :)

Yeah...quite the good and tolerant one, aren't you...

How many Germans does it take to change a light bulb?
None, because Germans never see the light.

Another "union-joke"? Or how long did you need to come up with that....

Only if they belong to a union, and that's true for everybody.

Nope...one to change and two to spin the chair.

That bad joke is ironic in that Polish engineers are respected in America.

Of course they are...it's all the mean (Nazi and jewish of course) media who doesn't recognize it!

Your mass-media are still busy creating some negative picture of us.

ROFL

Sure...everything just has to be negative propaganda...
You just dislike Germans because they are really meanies and doofuses and Nazis...Poles are only joked about or disliked because of bad media as they are so brave, cuddly, smart goody-two-shoes in reality everybody MUST love and admire - oh my, how often did I hear that here on PF!

ROFLMAO

People like you and Crow do everything to give Poles (and Serbia) a bad name. I don't need Harald Schmidt for that. I doubt he even knows about you...

Sorry to burst your bubble...;)

A German American acquaintance (long ago) once told me; "Germans are alright, just as long as there aren't more than 4 of them in any one place, then something kicks in."

Yeah...and I was told Poles really do need 3 people to change a lightbulb!

Well...as long Heini get's to know people like Borrka and Crow his distaste won't get away...quite the contrary. Maybe you just are unbearable...

Nothing to do with anti-polish propaganda!

News / Poles and rest of us needs strong Poland [49]

''Tusk although elected by voting does not represent peoples' opinion because he gets direct orders from EU leaders which are quite non-objectable in nature. So he chooses a stance which stands in contrast to polish peoples' will.''

Yeah...and what people with common sense "don't get" is that Tusk got elected with the polish peoples will so he expresses rather than contrasts the stance of the polish people.

It might hard to accept for people like Crow so they talk to themselves that Tusk is a dictator and not the elected head of the polish people....it's easier for them....;) But doesn't make it true!

Oh get over it BB. There’s no love lost between our people, never was and probably never be, just another fact of life we have to live with. Do we really need a poll to show us that? :-(

It's all your fault!*

Now there’s a surprise – really?, I’m not particularly fond of jerries either (po prostu nie lubię fryców.) - So there. Feelings are mutual.

Well....and reading the comments of that poll, who wants to be friends with Poles in the first place? :(

I vote for the common Polish/German Mannschaft/Drużyna (Mannżyna?).

Everything ending with "-a" sounds so feminine...but we are MEN!
More ideas please! :)

We need to get these Germans and Poles together, visiting each others countries and promoting an open dialogue and mutual benefactorship. This way the countries can help one another and learn to appreciate each other.

The borders are open already...you can't people force!

I have a better idea:

Now that Poland has no national football team whatsoever and most good Poles play in the Bundesliga or even for the german Mannschaft anyhow we should build a common polish/german football team both countries can cheer on and wave flags for!

Imagine all the parties and auto corsos and hugging and back clapping and smooching after scoring and the common positive experiences in the stadiums - that should do alot for the polish-german communication and understanding! YUP! :):):)

They probably read Crow's posts on this forum

I'm telling them all of it...I'm an evil-EU agent! Ha!

...oopsie...

PS: That isn't a "hate" vote but a "sympathy" vote and you can't give somebody a vote you don't know (or only by tantrums of politicians or prejudices). The poll shows that too:

...
As highlighted in the press release the survey authors, not all German Länder Poland at the forefront of the most negative rating niesympatycznego neighbor.

The worst is evaluated by the people far from the border on the Oder-Neisse line of the Land Baden-Württemberg.
The same is true of the Czechs, the least appreciated people of the western provinces, like Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

Ossis would had given France and Austria surely worse votings, as most Bavarians will have voted for Austria and so on.

Those who have contact with each other evaluate each other better and more favourable...

Yes, it's always better to say that the glass is half-full (or even 66% full in that case) ;)

And you should keep in mind what for example the Bavarians have to say about the Prussians, the Ossis about the Wessis and vice versa and so on...so don't feel left out! :)

That also means about 3 million people cheering for Germany - and what do we get?
41% dislike in the 40-49 age group (and 33% overall) :-(

Tjaaa...but that means also 66 percent of the Germans like you more than other neighbours.
Do you know how many millions that are??? Around 50 MILLION Germans like you!!! :):):)

History / What was the culture of Poland prior to the advent of Catholicism? [17]

This wiki entry is just wrong!

Yes, there was this Bonifaz-Taliban and yes he cut down a Thor-Oak....but the germanic pagan ritual to cut a branch of an evergreen and take it home for the winter solstice season stayed...till some smartie muuuuuuuuuuuuuch later came up with the idea to make the branch bigger...get some more additionally...hey, why not a whole tree and voila, the christmas tree was born.

(Especially funny as the this was another try by the christian taliban to overtake the pagan traditions of winter solstice (22th) and call that "Christmas" even as we know that Jesus was NOT born on the 24th of December)

To put it simply, going back to your roots = fascism.

The Christians will do everything to smear the much older native customs...they always did.
If their opinion matters to you in any way - stupid!

They are losing their grip, the old gods are reawakening! :)

Konnopke is famous for that one even outside of Berlin:

But here are more places:
