UK, Ireland / Sooo many Polski Sklep in the UK, LOL [64]

Doesn't supprise me.

They are more likely to be rouges and scoundrels than the native British.

It's a known fact they hit above their weight in the criminality/prisoners stakes in the UK.

News / Polish baby boom, but not in Poland [40]

Is it just Polish workers who claim tax credits and receive child benefit or are the Indian, Chinese, Irish, French, British etc etc not entitled to them?

As far as im concerned the only people who should have financial aid for low-income are BRITISH-BORN people. This is the United Kingdom after all.

I think the OP was writing plainly stupid. Brit expats also hunt Marks & Sparks for overpriced Brit products. or go to places like "Legends" because they cannot miss their "cuisine"

Mocking our "cuisine"

yes we have boring plain British dishes i agree with that.

But Pickled Cabbage with Dumplings hardly tickles the taste-buds either

Tax payers contributing to the British economy.

What little tax they contribute, they take STRAIGHT back in Tax Credits, Child Benefit, Council housing.

My post was more about the polish mentality and psyche really and their xenophobia of other food and prehaps a self-hated

But if you want to get into economical

The British Shops in Spain (Fewer than Polski here), are mainly shopped in by British expats, who are mainly retirees living in the sun, from their British Pension, from the UK.

British Money -> Spain

Polski Shop full of Polish imported Products shopped in by the Poles in exile by British money that ultimately finds its way to Poland (3 Billion taken out of the UK Economy a year by EU Immigrants)

British Money -> Poland

News / Polish baby boom, but not in Poland [40]

Seen as the vast majority of the 100 Billion £ NHS Budget is paid for by British people, working in Britain, using British resources and Infrastructure -

For the Polish Nation in Exile, it basically is free.

How can Polish Orange juice taste nicer? It's the same Brazilian Oranges in a different labeled container

How does Polish ham taste better than British ham? Poland has special tasty pigs?
Maybe you shouldn't judge "British Ham" on the processed crap you buy in a supermarket aisle, and try the meat counter or the local butchers shop. Pigs taste the same the world over.

I can just see myself living in France, begging the local entrepreneurs to open a British Shop so i can buy my Tropicana Orange Juice and my Bernard Mathews Ham... NOT

Yes i've been in my local shop a few times. Some nice things in there.. but nothing that stands out as really special and exotic.

Most things you can buy everywhere in the UK anyway, Orange Juice, Pickled Veg, Tinned Fish

I know most delicatessens here in the UK supermarkets sell all kind of spiced sausages, im sure even polish style Sausages

As most of you know in the UK, we have food from everywhere on most high streets, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Turkish The list goes on. I've tasted some Polish dishes in my time.. quite nice, but in the bigger picture, i find it quite bland/boring, like British food

However, I've noticed a Towns Polish community need only be a couple of thousand (If that) before a couple of "Polski Sklep" is warranted

We have sizable minorities living in most large towns and cities in the UK, however I've never seen a Turkish shop, or an exclusively Chinese food shop in such Prevalence.

Why do they need them? Ingredient for most dishes can be found in the supermarket or the markets!

Usually large "Asian Supermarkets" are the norm, in big cities like Manchester You can get all kinds of exotic spices and herbs there from Asia. Very good!

There's nothing particularity exotic in these Polish shops - Polish branded Orange Juice, Polish Branded Tinned Fish,
Does Orange Juice from a English label taste different?
Does Polish Branded Tinned mackerel in tomato sauce taste more fishier?

And yes, my Polish friends, go to ASDA, Tescos and i'm sure you'll find picked cabbage and cucumber .

Is this just a deep-rooted need to assert ones Polishness whilst in exile? Signs of lack of self-confidence as a nation?

UK, Ireland / Websites for Poles to benefit from Britain! [210]

Merged: The UK is no longer a country to serve the British people

We are now simply a Infrastructure & Cash cow for foreigners to come and exploit. I don't blame them, and neither should you.

Blame the politicians that have sold us out.

The Poles are USELESS as immigrants for us. They serve no purpose for our nation, and don't bring any economical benefit.

Don't believe the "hardworking pole" bullshit.

They work low-paying jobs, but they claim every benefit package possible to negate most of the tax. Not to mention the BILLIONS they take out of our economy every year, by sending money home. They don't spend money like we do on British services and British food. They shop exclusively at their Poland-Import shops, they pay for POLSAT in their homes, and they house share with about 10 other people, to save on rental costs.

Then theres the small factor of the 370,000 Migrants on Unemployment benefit. Jesus Christ.

They have become experts in Claiming in the UK. I believe more so than the Brits LOL. They have Polish-Language websites, with more information than the official government sites!!

benefity.org.uk
benefity-uk.co.uk
benefityipodatki.co.uk

Type "Benefity" into the premier Polish UK community forums (mojawyspa.co.uk/forum) and you get thousands and thousands of relating posts.

They even register EHIC cards so when back home in Poland, and they fall ill, they can claim FREE healthcare from the UK Taxpayer!!!! You couldn't make this up really.

Having a child is a big decision for any normal British person, with finance and relationship to factor into the decision.
To the foreigners it's just a method of earning a few extra pounds a week, plus our free NHS makes it more of an excuse - Better get the Family started in the UK, than at home... where they'd have t pay medical fees.

It seems having babies in our country, is rather lucrative.

Births in England and Wales by parents' country of birth, 2010

A quarter of births (25.1%) in 2010 were to mothers born outside the UK
The total fertility rates have risen to 1.88 for UK born women and 2.45 for non-UK born women
Poland became the most common country of origin for non-UK born mothers
Pakistan remains the most common country of origin for non-UK born fathers

Don't be too harsh on our Polish and Romanian. and our fellow European Compatriots .. Turkey joins the EU soon, and no doubt many of the 70 million already have their suitcases packed. Exciting Stuff!

UK, Ireland / How many Brits are travelling to Kraków each year? [14]

In the bigger picture.. VERY FEW

Most Brits goto places like Greece, Spain and Turkey on holiday.

Eastern European city destinations are visited mostly by drunken lads on stay/wedding trips. looking for cheap beer and cheap women.

Prague is another good place for this.

UK, Ireland / Is the UK referred to as the Islands in Polish media back home? [62]

Weirdo's.

Probably to do to the deep self shame and jealousy to the British nation. Superior Economically and Culturally, therefore emphasize the Island nature of the nation thus making Poland a greater Nation.

Keep taking your cars to Polish garages in the UK, sending your kids to Polish kindergarten and of course!!! watching Polish TV in the UK :)

UK, Ireland / Is the UK referred to as the Islands in Polish media back home? [62]

It's come to the attention that most immigrant Polish folks tend to refer to the UK and Ireland collectively as "The Islands"

I'm curious, is this something brought over from Poland? is the UK referred to as the Islands in Polish media back home?

I know technically the British Isles are islands, but in the traditional sense, people refer to islands that are much smaller geographical bodies such as the canary islands or the Caribbean :P

Do the Polish call Australia an Island as well?

UK, Ireland / Poles in England / English in Poland crime [25]

I suspect the only British criminals in Poland are the lads being drunk and disorderly on a weekend trip to Krakow or Warsaw.

UK, Ireland / Tale of a Polish Family on Isle of Man [43]

Are they? Plenty of Irish did just that, and they certainly wouldn't regard you as being their "countrymen".

Irish are the highest "foreign" immigrants in this country. Guess what.. i and anyone else would hardly notice. They integrate so well.
They are cultural VERY similar to "Brits". Speak the same language. Share the same humour, friendlyness... we like pubs, beer and football.

The links between the two British Isles go back 100's of years. Same goes for me, when i hope on the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin for a day trip.. i don't feel like im in a foreign land.

Plenty of Brits have never bothered to even work 3 months before settling into a nice life 'on the sick', what's your point?

Erm... they're British? IE My countrymen??

I'd rather be paying for my own people than some foreign scumbags :)

Benefits and Free housing is their birth right lol

I think they only have to work for 3 months in the UK before they get free housing and benefits to live off due to "unemployment"
