Polonia / The Netherlands: run-down districts happy with Polish immigrants [59]

Because they are trying to find a job in more populated areas.

Trying would be the word here. I'll give you something to think about: My age group makes up only 3% to 4% of our population. (Indigenous population.) We have an unemployment rate of 5 to 7%. (I think you can do the math?) Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Polish people. I just think our government should be honest about a few things. (Like explotation and cheap labour.)

;)

you would understand why 10.000 Polish immigrants tend to improve a neighbourhood whereas mentioned groups tend to make things worse even if their numbers are much lower.

They don't actually improve our neighbourhoods either, because this article completely fails to mention that most Polish people stay in Bungalow parks, and that most Polish people are only working here on a temporary basis, and that only the highly educated ones are trying to settle down here, because most of the working-class Polish people will find out that there's not much of a future for them here either. What this article also fails to mention, is that a lot of Dutch people aren't too happy about being a neighbour to ten or more Polish people in one house. (Oh, and isn't it funny how Dutch people aren't allowed to live with ten or more people in one house to share the rent, but temporary foreign workers all of a sudden, are??) No, there's definitely a not-so bright side to this whole story, but let me just tell you that you're still the misinformed Belgian racist that you were before. You're grossly overexaggarating a few things, of course conveniently, all in favour of ''white'' people.

But if the only offense that Polish people commit is drinking, then how do you explain the murders in my region? (We've had a few shootings and stabbings here, and the offenders were Polish, not Moroccan, sorry.)

Polonia / The Netherlands: run-down districts happy with Polish immigrants [59]

I guess there are enough opportunities.

If you're a foreigner.

"In sommige Limburgse gemeentes bijvoorbeeld daalt de aanwas van bevolking, omdat jongeren wegtrekken. Als die Polen komen, dan komen er ook kinderen terug in die wijken en gemeenten."

And why do you think young people from Holland are moving elsewhere? Because there are ''enough'' opportunities?

The poor Polish? Sorry, but if *they* wish to live here, then *they* should do their best to learn Dutch. (Just like *I* would do *my* best to learn Polish if I ever migrated to Poland!) And yes, I can pronounce the odd word. I suppose I'm still nowhere close to being good enough to have entire conversations in Polish, but you know, I probably have other things to do aswell!

UK, Ireland / Why British men move to Poland [63]

Serious? Every traditional Dutch dish involves potatoes! (And we sure do love our beer!)

Heh. Well, you don't have to worry about Dutch grooms, because it certainly looks like the Polish are heavier according to this survey!

Life / Dzień Świra. ''Day of the madman'' (Polish Cult movie.) [20]

no it was:

- to...
- am.

That too!

xD

But to be honest I don't like this movie and I don'y get the phenomenom of it. It's the sense of humor qrwa x 10 in one sentence...

Well, I *have* worked with a couple of Polish guys who were using the K-word a lot more than the guy in the movie, and I'm afraid they weren't actors.

;)

Włatcy móch?

Director? Year?

I see it as a teenage version of Dzień świra.

Sounds promising!

Life / Dzień Świra. ''Day of the madman'' (Polish Cult movie.) [20]

I got it from Netflix as the Day of the Wacko (to the curious American audience who uses Netflix and can't find the Day of Madman

Oh well, wether the correct translation is madman, lunatic or wacko, you can't go wrong with the original movie title.

It's a crazy movie.

That it is!

The amount of dog s**t might not be true, but the rest, pretty accurate.

You think so? I think it's all pretty overexaggarated. (But then again, what do I know?)

Life / Dzień Świra. ''Day of the madman'' (Polish Cult movie.) [20]

Adaś Miauczyński is a highly intelligent but neurotic man who just didn't make it in life, and who now works as a teacher. In this movie he offers a very interesting view on his life and the Polish day-to-day reality, of course as it's viewed through his eyes. (His opinion.)

I came across it recently, and eventhough I didn't - and still don't! - understand every sentence, I understand most of the movie, and thought it was funny. So if you're interested in modern-day Poland, I would definitely recommend watching this movie. (Don't mistake it for the absolute truth about Poland though!) It's complete in nine parts, so if you have too much time on your hands..

Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

@AJ: That 'germanic' beauty with a chin like an egg cup? That's your personal preference. To me she looks like a doll.

So you're trying to tell me she's unattractive? (You're funny!) Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but even you have to admit she has a pretty face.

a fag actually (lol)

Seriously, I know homosexuals who look more masculine and macho than that! I think I'll just stick to 'sissy', because in my opinion that's the correct terminology for a boy who wants to look like a girl. If he's a transsexual I won't call him a sissy though, because that would mean it's in his nature and he can't help himself. (Just forget I've mentioned anything if he *is* gay!)

Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

[pleasant disraction]

It's quite tough to find a really pretty germanic whereas the slavic beauties seem to grow out from the asphalt....

Seriously, just how many pictures of Germanic women do you want me to post here? Beatiful women - regardless of nationality or race - aren't exactly rarities you know!

;)

And yes, Polish girls are beautiful too!

News / New Polish Light Tank - Anders [74]

Anders

It's funny though, Anders literally means ''Different'' in Holland, so this tank must be something else!

History / Poland, Lacking External Enemies, Turns on Itself [106]

Poland has just come out of a 300 year occupation, no need to yield to Brussels on the zloty.

I'm sorry, but didn't you guys sign the papers already? From what I understand, you guys are to introduce the Euro in the year 2014 or 2015?

News / Polish Foreign Ministry 'prepared' for new Wikileaks material [100]

But "currently released so far: 220/251,287..."

I know, but it sure does contain more details than you can find in the other links which have been posted so far. Of course I've read the ''walk-in'' parts with great interest, just so I know what to expect if I ever wish to migrate. (I suspect it works the same in other countries!) I don't know why such information needs to be secret though. I don't know, it just really doesn't seem shocking or surprising to me? Regardless, this is pretty educational.

History / Poland, Lacking External Enemies, Turns on Itself [106]

The political leadership is at war with itself. Personal attacks and insults are flying. Politicians have traded accusations of drug abuse, mental illness, collaborating with the Nazis and being agents of Moscow.

Hmm.. Do you think they get their inspiration from PF?

xD
