USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

I don't have one.

:P

AJ - what planet do you live on? LOL

I just ordered the iPad Deux to replace my original one and can't live without my iPhone 4. Granted, I need it primarily so I can Skype in each and every country but I just can't imagine not having my phone with me.

PS. Aphro - I don't feel important. ;)

PSS. No kicks in the balls! Talk first! lol

Love / Polish men are their own special breed ... [96]

My wife thinks that polish men are their own special breed ... any Ideas ... when I asked her she just laughed ... LOL

Reall? Then tell her you want your rib back! :-)

“The first woman was created from the rib of a man. She was not made from his head to top him, nor from his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal to him.”

Love / Why do frustrated men ask silly questions about Polish women or girls? [42]

PS My native language is polish and I have learned english from school , so forgive me if I can`t write immaculately , pls . I wonder if you can speak any foreign language as good as I speak english

You use double vowels to emphasize or exaggerate things? Really? LOL. You do realize that moron spelled mooroon is pronounced muuruun (using polish "u" pronunciation). It simply sounds and looks ridiculous.

Either way, spelling mistakes is no big deal, I am not the greatest speller myself and your English is definitely much better than my Polish. I'm also fluent in Swedish and am learning Mandarin at the moment, thank you for asking.

You missed the entire point in my reply to you though. You bemoan the shallowness of some of the posts regarding women here on PF. I totally agree and have replied to many idiotic posts on that subject (ie. "all Polish women are sluts," etc.)

Yet while you are criticizing some men your post is just as illogical as the replies you are disgusted with. I travel for a living and have seen drop-dead gorgeous, mouth salivating women all over the world, some were American, some Swedish, others were German, French, Japanese, Chinese, etc. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder and "beautiful" to you might be "pretty" to me and vice versa. So my point is, if you criticize some men here for posting messages that are demeaning to women, please do not post messages that are demeaning to us men either. You are the queen of generalizations. Remember, you can find true beauty all over the world.

Law / Marriage in Poland without a residence permit? [13]

I think he means he married his wife elsewhere and now wants to marry her in Poland too. A friend of mine married her husband in the US (where she has lived for many years) and about a year later married her husband again in Sweden where's she's from originally.

Love / Why do frustrated men ask silly questions about Polish women or girls? [42]

Why do frustrated women ask us, men silly questions about polish women? Why solotu? Only "mooroons" (whatever that means) would do that. You might be beautiful on the outside (to yourself at least) but judging from your post you're very shallow and blasé on the inside. So how can you, girl, generalize so much?

USA, Canada / Dual citizenship - US doesn't care if you don't give up Polish passport [103]

PB is right, you don't have to give up your Polish citizenship to get an American one. You can have the best of both worlds.

It's actually against the law (see the Oath quoted above) BUT the law is not now nor has it ever been enforced. Many more important things to worry about.

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

because I don't want to. Do I have to? :)

Not at all, just curious, that's all.

Really?
I know you was raised In Sweden and it seems that you are an avid supporter of the economic liberalism (am I wrong?) so I'd be really intrested in your point of view. Why's that?

I'm a fiscally conservative libertarian. Depending on which side of the pond you live on, the word "liberal" might mean somewhat different and even opposite things. Government should be very limited and health care certainly shouldn't be part of our government's responsibilities with the exception of tracking and eliminating the abuse. However, it's too late for me for yet another discussion. (3am now) Until next time. Good night.

Jeśli chodzi o język polski na PF - "If you don't use it, you'll lose it!" - część członków tutaj nie rozumie język polski wystarczająco żeby mieć konwersacje; wiesz jak mi cieżko pisać po polsku, i ja myśle że dużo osób tutaj ma ten sam problem.

Dzięki Google Translate. :)

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

Skysoulmate on the other hand - well, he gets upset with my use of Polack and I get upset with his use of Communist and we're equal ;)

The communist ideology is the most vile and disgusting ideology on earth, many more people died due to communism than its sister ideology - the nazism. Both ideologies are as despicable as it gets and because of those ideologies millions of people were murdered, starved to death and were tortured to death. Anyone who claims the ideology was misunderstood or not executed properly, that the revolution wasn't run by the right people, etc. is a lunatic. An ideology that uses the term dictatorship, be it it by the proletariat or not, as a transitional process is a lunatic ideology.

The term Polack IS a slur and you know it. If you want to speak Polish than by all means do so, in that case the word is Polak, without the letter "C". However in English the proper term IS Pole or an American Pole, British Pole, etc. Polonia, the Polish diaspora, etc. are some other terms that are appropriate. Polack isn't one of them and you are well aware of that.

Law / Im a Chicago Pole that may marry girl in Poznan (love / EU membership) [10]

...and somewhat shallow. I'm glad at least 1/2 the reason was love, it gives them 1/4 chance of making it through the first 1/8 of the year.

Sorry but you sound about as enthusiastic about marrying that lady as I am about my next visit to the dentist. When you love you know. When you do you don't need to ask others for advice. Just my perspective on it.

Disclaimer, as a divorced man my advice is about as accurate as last year's newspaper.

Language / Diminutives (zdrobnienie) for Sylwia [12]

Thanks!

What about Sylwka?

This might be easy to pronounce but ONLY to those of us who've been raised in Scandinavia. For most other people there aren't enough vowels in that word. You know, sjuksköterska, etc. LOL

he might be that too, I concentrate usually on his writing, but I guess legs are your domain;)

Well, yeah... Isn't it everyone's domain? lol

This sux, I'm crushed.

figure of speech I hope;). Pilots!!!!!!!

Yes, thanks for your concern. Ok, I'll rephrase it.

This sux, I've lost my bearing, have been forced to declare an emergency and have made an emergency landing at an unfamiliar and a totally disappointing airfield. To make things even worst - the strip was covered with tall grass. :)

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

For what it's worth, no-one here seems to consider the American Polacks as being Polish.

First of all, if you want to participate in a debate then show respect. You know very well that the term American Polack is derogatory, it's called American Pole in English or Polak in Polish. There's nothing in-between. If you don't knock it off I'll start calling you a Russian ****** wannabe or whatever name I can find that's derogatory.

...Today, in the English-speaking world, the word "Polack" is sometimes considered an ethnic slur:
Slang: Disparaging and Offensive (Random House Unabridged Dictionary)
Offensive Slang Used as a disparaging term for a person of Polish birth or descent (The American Heritage Dictionary)...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polack

Second of all, your views on Polish Americans are as ridiculous as it gets. You know nothing about us except a bunch of nonsense you've read on various websites. Frankly you're way to biased and too close-minded to even be engaged in a discussion on that subject.

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

'Polish' Poles don't like the American Poles and vice versa, that's a fact. Why? Beats me. Jealous maybe?

I disagree. I think Native Polonians ;) don't care and are mostly curious about what's going on here. Rather there's a great deal of distrust between the American Poles and the British Poles. The Rest-of-Europe Poles usually side with the Brittish Poles but not always.

This forum should really be renamed to Anti_American_British_Forum_About_Poland_and_Occasionally_The_Jews.who _gives_a_crap.com

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

I have never heard the American media refer to Polish Americans as "American polaks". Honest to God.... NEVER

...and you never will. Chicago P is smoking crack. The term used in the media is Polish Americans and that is the only term you'll ever see. The word Polack is considered derogatory, sort of like the N word and the media will never use it. Ironically, it's become a derogatory term because of Polish American's complaints over the use of the word Polack.

USA is the most segregated country in the world. White hating black, blacks hating whites, whites hating jews in the south, then italians polish mexicans english puerto ricans etc etc hating each other.

Have you actually been to the US? Granted, racism exists here and everywhere else too for that matter but this "hating" you're talking about is perpetrated by a tiny minority of people and often highlighted by foreigners who despise america for different reasons and want to believe this nonsensical garbage just so they can feel better about themselves. Look in the mirror princess.

Amazing that a Russian who's writing on a Polish forum has opinions on racism in America. Russia, the country whose citizens throughout many centuries have murdered more people on earth than any other nation ever even "dreamed" of, wow.

USA, Canada / Can Polish citizens with US greencard travel to Canada? [63]

yes, you are right. I am talking about a permanent US resident not a permanent green card resident. I just said it wrong.

Uhhh... What are you talking about? A permanent US resident IS a green card holder. What am I missing here?

what is happening in the US right now is not socialism. not even close man. you know better then that. i know you do.

Well, it's as close as it gets and it's getting closer.

Have you ever gone through a TSA search? Did you notice that very few blacks, Arabs, etc. get selected for additional screening? It's called political correctness, the new, very much en vogue religion in the US. TSA agents are paranoid about being accused of racism and will look the other way when an Arab walks through but will select an old lady in a wheel chair. Likewise, the cops in Arizona are afraid of people like you, people who assume they're racists just because they try to protect our citizens. They'll pull over a white guy way before they contemplating pulling over a Latino looking individual.

You are a reverse racist PLK, but you'll never see that yourself and therefore we'll never agree on this issue. I hope Arizona law prevails and I hope it spreads to other states.

Shortly I joined this forum I described the ordeal my mom had to deal with in Sweden. She's worked hard and paid her taxes there for 35 years yet when she got a brain tumor, the same type Ted Kennedy had, the Swedish universal health care turned out to be a nightmarish, socialist bureaucracy. I won't go back to all the details and intricacies of it as it still bothers me but search it here and you'll find it. The communist Ted Kennedy who hated our health care system had his surgery 6 days after being diagnosed. My mom waited for more than a year. I will never support obamacare, never!

USA, Canada / Expat Poles swearing allegiance to the US - how did you feel? [157]

Americans leaders are nothing more than organized crime communists ripe with arrogance and with access to too much money and power.

Wow, I've flown in and out of numerous military bases since joining the military. Your rants are more harmful to us when overseas than the likes of mcnbc, Huffington post and other communist outlets. You are a perfect match for Polish Forums, paranoia combined with a zeal for conspiracy is the perpetuum mobile of this forum. Throw in a little of an anti-Jewish sentiment, some Jewish world-control rhetoric and they'll make you a president of this forum.

Language / Changing Polish punctuation? [23]

sorry skysoulmate a billion is equal to 1000 million not a million million. trylion is 1000 billion.

I copy & pasted my reply from Oxford Dictionaries and the highlighted portion is still correct. Which is exactly what you're saying. The later sentence contradicts their own statement so I'll leave it out this time.

"...British English has now adopted the American figure, though, so that a billion equals a thousand million in both varieties of English..."

Szwedzi nie kłamią, ale czasami mówią po norwesku. :)
