Life / A rant on customer service in Poland [42]

That looks really good! Maybe there was a mistake and they forgot to top the noodles with the duck and veggies?

It sounds cheap as heck. No duck in the Mekong Duck? Just cheap fillers? Sounds like they are trying to cut corners, putting nothing but cheapest ingredients in your take-out.

Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult?

You have to find a way to make it a part of everyday life. The only option for most living in the US is the internet but you could meet Poles online, talk to them and maybe visit one day. They could also visit you.

The problem is it would really be a total waste of time because there would be no one to speak it with.

That's my concern. Maybe you could find a Polish friend online to talk with?

History / Should Poland be given ANY credit for ALLOWING Jews into Poland for 1000 years? [195]

But, to proclaim, that I'd die "for my people", how can anyone say that. It rings flat (to be kind).

It's like when people go to war for their country. Some people will sacrifice themselves for the welfare of strangers. It's the same mentality people who enlist in the military have, or first responders. They know what they do is risky but are willing to take that risk to save others.

I'm not going to stray off topic, not the thread for that.We can post on the other thread about that.I Don't know what I would've done in WW2.
And I don't believe any when knows what they would have done unless they were actually in that situation that the Poles or the Jews were in.

It is impossible to know without being there and experiencing the exact same circumstances.

Love / Why are Polish men so scared of women? [8]

Because of the cultural values of the country. It's a Catholic country. Catholic church is all about marriage and family. They frown on casual dating and promote abstinence unless married. Polish men are taught to look for the girl they want to marry and focus on this without wasting time on the ones they aren't so sure about.

Love / ARE POLISH GIRLS GOLD-DIGGERS? [359]

. Her recption will be dramatically different.

If she looks like a high class business woman, all the gold digging guys in the bar will be on her like duck on a June bug.

Love / ARE POLISH GIRLS GOLD-DIGGERS? [359]

Keep in mind most unescorted people in bars are looking for sex or relationship regardless of what they wear, or at the least, someone to buy them a drink. The clothing is irrelevant! It's a bar ffs! You think they go there to pray?

OK but if a man was sitting on a bar stool with his shirt undone, legs wide open, tiny shorts, etc..(lol) what would you think he wanted??

I see married guys mowing the yard shirtless in little shorts. Doubtful they are looking for sex since they are married and if I flirted with them they would think I was a lowlife for hitting on a married dude. I would assume most guys at a singles bar are looking for sex just because it is a singles bar, not based on what they wear.

That sort of psychobabble (as Ironside pointed out) ignores the nature of both man and woman. It reads like something from a feminist consciousness raising booklet.

It just recognizes that not everyone has sex in mind though some people clearly do, when they pick their clothes. Go to public pool and you will see a lot of women in bikinis. Why would you assume just because someone is in a bikini they are looking for sex? Maybe they just want to go swimming?

I just assume that the woman is just 'airing things out'.This eliminates any sexual confusion and arbitrariness.

Maybe because she doesn't have other items in her wardrobe?

Having a bosom has nothing to do with sex. Wearing short skirts or shorts doesn't either. Could just be a matter of it being too hot outside. If a woman wants to wear revealing clothes, she should be able to without men assuming she is wearing them only because she wants sex.

Love / ARE POLISH GIRLS GOLD-DIGGERS? [359]

There was also a couple of occassions in my relationship when my girlfriend lied to me and again on reflection i wonder if this a trait from Polish women,im talking about lies which had a real impact on our relationship

Why would you think it's a "trait" in Polish women? Ever watch those court shows on television? What is the Judge always saying? Do not loan money to family/friends. Make gifts only and that's that. If you don't want to buy someone something, don't. If you are worried someone is going to break things off with you because you aren't buying them stuff, that person is not looking for a relationship built on shared values, anyway. That person is just looking for someone to buy stuff for her.

Food / Where can I get the spreader/rake for making crepes & pancakes in Poland? [15]

If you have a spare $1000 dollars laying around, spend it on this crepe maker: amazon.com/Krampouz-CEBIF4-Commercial-Electric-Machine/dp/B 004FNXW8A/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1339512714&sr=1-4

For that much the crepes better be out of this world.

I also want to thank you! I never knew these things existed before but they make sense if you want the batter to be flawlessly even in the pan. Might want to get a pan and a spreader myself and try to make crepes with it. I bet they turn out better with the spreader than without.
