Do you know when and what style of art they are?

1935 by Jan Reszka... i'm not sure if they were replaced, the main building was occupied by German government during WWII...

USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

Which is why Warsaw is stuffed with sushi restaurants and Italian places (and increasingly Indian).

it seems many countries get stuffed with those and it gets boring too...

that's true but I believe that in America they also have winters (at least in some parts) ;)

yes, that's why they eat bacon and burgers with fries and salads with extra ranch dressing... :)

cuisine depends on the climate, of course...

Sauerkraut is also considered a signature German dish but I dislike it and can't in good conscience recommend it, nor will I, for ethical reasons, recommend the most pricey thing on German restaurants' menus which is a breaded veal dish which has a name in German which I have forgotten.

you don't have to go to a German restaurant to eat those... it's served everywhere...

Polish restaurant food is not particularly good.

but Polish food?somebody who eats badly prepared food, of course, won't like it...

Don't even try to buy it ready in a shop!!!

actually I did buy ready falczki in a Polish store and it was quite good, not as good and spiced up like my grandma's but still...

So I guess Polish food is so bad that even when you Americanize it, it's still awful.

it's not bad... American market just isn't a good place for it... because if you "Americanize" Polish food, it won't be Polish anymore...

German, French, Spanish, and Greek are definitely more popular.

are you sure? Americans don't like fancy food, they stick to bbq, burgers and Tex-Mex...
all cuisines are "americanized" to fit an american taste and sell... so nothing original here...

News / Multi-culti (in Poland) -- roadmap to disaster? [344]

Poland is still not a major attraction for economic immigrants or even refugees.

only 0.1 % of Polish population were foreigners in Poland in 2010...it's one of the lowest in EU (EU = 32.5mln foreigners)...
in 2010 there were 45.500 foreigners in PL, and that includes 14.800 of EU citizens...less foreigners than in Poland is in Malta or Iceland...
Switzerland beats the record - 43% of foreigners (who work in institutions of EU or international banks)...

Life / Drinking before clubbing in Poland? [25]

I vote yes, a night out these days costs far too much,

so you have to get wrecked on the deck? a couple of drinks won't break your budget and you'll remember everything... :)

Love / Polish men are their own special breed ... [96]

Make the girl chase after you.

I've never in my life chased after a guy.

let's just say: it works better if it's not given on a silver plate...
