Language / How many words does it take to be fluent in (the Polish) language? [21]

Spanish

Lke Spanish and Italian, Polish is a highly phonetic language, ie you pronounce it the way it is written with a few exceptions. English is about the worst in that respect because it has retained an old spelling that no longer reflects the current pronunciation. Russian and the Scadinavian tongues are similar but not as bad as English.

Wówczas Kościół nagle zrobił się be. "Państwo wyznaniowe", "klerykalizacja", "chomeinizacja" -- wrzeszczeli. Czysta hipokryzja!

monotonous

Nothing to do with attacks or not, only that it adds ethno-linguistic variety to central-east Europe. Besides Crow goes so overboard with his Slavic obsession, so I wanted him to know that not everyone shares it. In fact, very few people do. Poles are proud to be Polish (maybe excrept the Michnik gang for whom Polishness was always a problem) but not Slavic. For most it's a dry fact which "ani ich nie ziębi, ani grzeje!"

I'm Polish

You must be very young, because 10.15 is still the norm in Poland although the colon (:) is creeping in. One TV news reader (TVN I believe) says: pięć do dziewiątej which is absolutely un-Polish. It should be za pięć dziewiąta. But Poles are notorious copy-cats. Already Mickiewicz wrote: "Co Francuz wymyśli, to Polak polubi". Today we might update it with: "Co Angol (lub Jankes) wymyśli..."

the norm in Poland

Another slight difference are sport scores. In Poland 3:2, in UK 3-2.

UN bringing mujaheedines of Islamic league

You are so obsessed with your Slavdom that you don't seem to know much about the workings of general histotry. Ad hoc alliances often combine strange bedfellows and alliances can swiftly shift where the ally becomes the enemy. In WW2 the Allies needed Russian canon fodder to clog up Hitler's war machine so they aided Russia but soon after the war ended they were on opposite sides of the iron curtain.The US supported the taliban against Soviet Russia in Afghanistan in a drive to limit Soviet expansion. But later the taliban became the enemy. It has happened time and again and will continue indefinitely. Bosnians were discriminated against in Yugoslavia so they had to be protected. Hardly anyone beleives only Slav issues, concerns and interests are first nad foremost. I certainly don't. And all that was taking place before 9/11. BTW, I for one am glad the Romanians, Hungarians and Albanians have added variety to the huge, monotonous Slavic sea.

Middle East who helped Polish refugees

When ex-Soviet Polsih prisoners and slave labourers fled to Persia during WW2 and Polish orphans were helped by an Indian maharajah, the helped Poles were grateful but did not try to take over or ikmpose on their their benefactors Cathtlicism or the Polish way of life. So only Middle Easterners as abysmally stupid as certain PF posters would be sjurprised that Poles resent the Musli m terrorism spilling across Europe.

your ignorance

The general awarenss of libretard PiSlamic's ignoranceand sophistry grows with each passing day. There are no no-go zones. There is no culture war. Poles were also refugees and were received and helped. There were terrorist incidents by IRA, Basque separatists, etc., etc. Yes, but neither the Irish nor the Basques wanted to take over the world. The Islamists do: google.pl/search?q=islam+will+dominate+the+world

that old canard

Just to prevent naive libretard PiSlamic shouting "There are no no-go zones!" as he moves up in the Muslim Supremacists' decapitation queue, please read and absorb. nd just so you don't dismiss this as an "unreliable source" (as you often do when you disagree with the truth!), I'll start with your beloved NYT (which many Americans justifiably call the Jew York Times):

**As early as 2002 David Ignatius in The New York Times wrote about France: "Arab gangs regularly vandalize synagogues here, the North African suburbs have become no-go zones at night, and the French continue to shrug their shoulders." La Courneuve and other districts in the Paris region were described by police as no-go zones.

**In the wake of the 2015 Paris attacks, the Molenbeek municipality in Brussels was described in many media reports as a no-go area, where gang violence and Islamic radicalism had fed on Molenbeek's marginalisation, despair and festering resentment of authority. In 2015 Belgium's home affairs minister said that the government did not "have control of the situation in Molenbeek" and that terrorists' links to this district were a "gigantic problem"

**In a 2011 interview, Bernhard Witthaut, president of the German police trade union (Gewerkschaft der Polizei), stated that some areas in Germany, mostly with a high immigrant population, had become no-go areas where police feared to enter.

**Especially dangerous for outsiders is city of Malmö. A police officer and task force chief referred to such areas as no go areas and wrote that gangs like to lay claim to an area by throwing stones at mailmen, police, firefighters and ambulances who enter the area.

A canard? It is quite obvious that stone-walling denial will get you nowhere. In fact, rather than feasitng on roast duck with apples (a Polish favourite), PiSlamic will be eating crow! (LOL!)

denial by Harry

There or other libretards of Harry's ilk who say stupid, ill-considered things like "Poles were also refugees and immigrants, etc., etc."
That is true, but when our great-grandparents or grandparents or parents came from Poland to America (and other countries) as immigrants or refugees, they did not:

1. Desecrate Protestant churches and insist everyone should live according to Catholic rules;
2. Reject English-based American law and insist they would follow only the Napoleonic Code because that was the basis of law in the Old Country;
3. Create no-go zones where only Old Coutnry law prevailed and which even American police were reluctant to enter;
4. Seek welfare benefits the moment they arrived and refuse to work at menial jobs.
5. Demand Polish dietary habits become the norm in school cafeterias;
6. Join subversive groups whose aim was to forcibly Catholicise and Polonise the USA and the rest of the world to boot. 7. Detonate bombs at children's concerts or drive motor vehicles into crowds of tourists......

The door is already wide ope

PiSlamic is dishing out more of his typical BS. We are talking about illegal aliens from amongst hordes of Muslim parasites pounding on Europe's doors, not the normal procedure for issuing residence permits.

What % of Polish society do Muslims account for? How about Britain, Belgium. Germany, Sweden? Conclusion: the more Muslims, the more terrorism! That's why there have been next to no Muslim attacks in Poland. End of story!

Muslim terrorist scum

The only way to protect Poland from terrorist attacks is by not allowing Islamic migrants into the country, Polish European Parliament deputy Ryszard Czarnecki has said. His comments follow an attack in London on Saturday which killed ten, including three suspects, and injured at least 48 others. Terrorist attacks were often carried out by children of "Islamic migrants" - many of them citizens of European countries - who were trained by the so-called Islamic State. "Other countries have led to a situation in which those trained on Islamic State territory in Syria, Iraq - young people with French, Belgian, Dutch, British, German citizenship - return to Europe ... and somehow [the authorities] were incapable of monitoring them," Czarnecki said. "We, Poland, are learning from the mistakes of others ... and we will not open our doors to Islamic migrants," he added.

Which is the proper way to write time in English: 10.15 or 10:15? (full stop or colon?)
Proper Polish is 10.15, but 10:15 seems to be creeping in.

Also, $15 or 15$ (of course there's also the officialese USD15), £30 or 30£, €148 or 148€? Poels notoriously write 15$.

overthrowing the Olszewski cabinet

Does the historical ignorance of many PF-ers stem from some intellectual deficiency or is it the result of clever. all-pervasive pro-RT propaganda? Probably a ltitle of both. Most everyone knows of the Olszewski government's attempt to lessen the nomenklatura's stranglehold on Polish institutions and industries and de-communise the country by opening commie-era secret-police files to public scrutiny. But how many know that:

**It was the first genuinely free government of post-1989 Poland; the previous two had been rooted in the RT "transaction".
**Its avowed aim was to stop robber-baron "privatisation" on which only the nomenklatura got rich and resulted in foreign-interest groups effectively creating a neo-colonial economy in Poland.

**Olszewski made no secret of the fact that Poland should strive for full NATO and EEC membership; Wałęsa at the time was toying with such concepts as NATO-bis and EEC-bis.

**Olszewski opposed and made Wałęsa back out of a deal to create so-called Polish-Russian "joint ventures" at the site of Russian military bases in Poland after their troops were withdrawn, since that would have legitimised a permanent Russian presence in Poland.

**In general, Olszewski's was a truly pro-Polish government guided by Poland's interests first, last and always, not trying to please Moscow and its erstwhile agents - the nomenklatura. As a result it had to end the way it did. Fortunately, that legacy is now being continued by the democratically elected Law and Justice government.

Islam or immigration is the root cause

Militant, fanatical supremacist Islam + allowing its advocates to immigrate are 99% of the problem. If they stayed in their desert homelands on the otehr side of nowhere and contented themselves to blowing up one another's mosques (Shi'ite v Sunnit!), the civilised world would not be the worse off for it. Maybe in time they'd kill each other off.

there would be still be a terrorist problem

PiSlamic is working overtime hoping there are still a few clueless and gullible fools out there who he thinks he can sway with his pro-PC codswallop. He is the one peddling the notion that the worst possible thing is an "ethnic slur", not youngsters slaughtered in a bloodbath by Allah-worshipping desert towelhead scum.

deported al

They should have deported all the members of the expat fifth column whose only purpose is to badmouth Poland, Poles, Polish culture, religion, history, traditions, food and most everything else. Some harbor so much disdain for things Polish that after a 22-year parasite stint in the country they didn't even see fit to learn the lingo properly. Such creeps are underming national morale and sowing defeatism at a time when national unity and fortitude are needed.

refugees

The shock and grief had barely subsided following the Manchester atrocity when the Muslim terrorist scum struck again, killing six innocent people and wounding nearly 50 in London. The blame is on PC types, multi-culti advocates and assorted supporters of Merkel's Folly for whom not offending some towelhead is a greater priority than ensuring public srecurity. Will this be the straw that breaks the camel-jockey's back? Will the authorities finally start cracking down on hate-spewing mosques and Sharia neighbourhoods as well as detaining and deporting jihad supporters? Or are we to go from one attack to another? A firecracker explosion sparked wild panic at a Champions League fan zone in Turin causing chaos and minor injuries as well as, illustrating the nervousness Muslim fanatics have succeeded in evoking. Thank God, so far Poland has pursued a sane immigration policy and has not succumbed to EU attempts at intimidation and blackmail.

Evil Hungarian Jew Soros urges EU to penalise Poland

Ageing international financial speculator George Soros has launched an attack on Poland and his ancestral homeland Hungary. The multi-billionaire has used his wealth to bankroll stooges committed to the destruciton of the family, religion, indigenous culture and national pride in favour of leftist-libertine chaos, decadence and deviation. He is particulary opposed to countries that safeguard traditional conservative values. At the Brussels Economic Forum Soros called on the EU to slash funds earmarked for Poland and Hungary which he alleges violate the rule of law. At the same event, Poland's economic super-hero Mateusz Morawiecki defended Poland, proving that EU rules were being violated by France, Germany and the EC itself.

News / Poland's post-commie clique celebrates 25th anniversary [7]

Poland's post-communist round table clique, who ruled the country for most of the post-1989 period, are celebrating the silver anniversary of their birth which occurred after de-communisation was quashed in 1992. PF-ers not in the country at that time would be well to watch "Nocna zmiana" being showed this evening on TVP1. The politicians shown in the film all had their turn at the helm, dipping in the till and milking Poland for what she was worth over they years under various political logos.

I had often wondered who and why had filmed that backroom deal and only recently learnt it was Wałęsa himself who ordered the filming. At the time neither he nor anyone else could know how things would turn out. To be on the safe side and avert being for singlehandedly overthrowing the Olszewski cabinet, he had all the back-room conspirators plainly shown and would have something on all of them if the need ever arose.

Wałęsa was wavering prior to the deal. In fact he openly admitted having been an SB informer TW Bolek and sent a statement to that effect to PAP. That was big news back then, but half an hour later he withdrew the statement. Apparently someone (his éminence grise Wachowski?) had advised him not to go out on a limb. If he had followed his initial impulse to come clean, went before the nation, explained that he had been a simple young worker from the countryside, intimidated and pressured by the SB, and apologised, most Poles would have understood and forgiven him. As it turned out, Kuroń was the one who advised him to go through with the government's overthrow.

Such was the birth of post-commie Poland, where post-KOR-ites and post-PZPR types joined hands and hoped to live happily ever after. It's no wonder that TVN are so fiercely opposed to the good-change government. It was one of the nomenklatura companies set up in the non-decommunised country. Behind ITI, to which TVN trace their roots, were interior-ministry boss Gen. Kiszczak and TW Mewa, Mariusz Walter. TVN really could stand for Telewizja Nomenklatura.

Hypocrisy

Not quite. HyPOcrisy is the middle name of the losers' club, aka "total opposition".
Ineffective and clueless when in power, clueless and harmless as an opposition. The only things they're good at are scams, self-promoting PR and bashing anyone who actually wants to do something for Poland. If that kind of company suits your fancy, you're more than welcome to it!
