UK, Ireland / Britain... What the Poles did for us. [444]

espana

Just don't follow the stereotypes, and you will be o.k :)

polish people should
involve more in the english culture

Why? Most of these people are only there for a short while to make some cash, and head back home. And most of the ones who are there to stay, integrate quite well into society.

defeat an enemy that was obliterating them.

To be fair, England would have been obliterated eventually, without any support from the Americans.
Respect for England to have held up against the Germans alone though, good stuff. Without some poor decisions made by the British and American high staff near the end of the war, all could have ended well for England, AND Poland.

I don't see the Africans here in Poland talking about how they are smarter and harder workin

You don't see many Africans in Poland in the first place...

History / Friedrich Nietzsche - Polish or German ? [73]

At least the allies left a part of Berlin standing, enough to take forward. Warsaw was leveled 100% to the ground thanks to the Gerries.

History / Friedrich Nietzsche - Polish or German ? [73]

Polish and german people have been mixing with each other for over 1000+ years,

This is true for the western most provinces of Poland, yes. But as much as everyone likes to believe that there was constant mixing of blood, this is not true. The greatest % of Poles throughout Polands history have always been peasants, and it is no great leap of faith to say that peasants very rarely went outside their own zone of comfort to marry.

I never heard of them...

Of course you havn't. Why would German schools teach their good German students about famous Poles?

can't think of any German of today who would wish to be polish, sorry

I believe this goes both ways....

I don't know what are you talking about.

Lukasz? I knew it was you, bracie.

Nah...she has nothing to do with Germany....no family, no roots, no language...why should we claim her?

She doesn't have the typical Polish last name...
You sure you don't want to add a nice looking fair haired, blue eyed girl to your beloved Deutschland? Might help combat the emergence of dark skinned, dark haired brown eyed German-Turk hybrids!

He is very Polish

This indeed, does not really matter though, bracie. This area between Poland and Germany is so grey that a lot of interbreeding must have occured throughout the centuries. What would help would be a DNA test to test the percentages and find what shows up the most.

Filios, you've got Polish ancestors, right? so do you consider yourself Polish or Greek?

My father is Polish, my mother is Greek. I am proud of my Greek heritage, but I was born in Poland and was raised a Pole. So I consider myself Polish.

And I bet he was good at football too

This is a low blow. But what can you expect from a German?
