News / Poland-EU: Positive and negative features? [45]

5. Access to EU funds helping development of new EU members.

yeah, when I was in Poland, I saw those signs "supported by the EU" everywhere. From the Polish point of view, the cash flow from the EU must be undeniably seen as the most important thing after joining the EU.

No, thank you! Enough is enough. You don't have to pay 48% income tax, do you? By the time you do, you will say the same thing.

yep, unfortunitely.

USA, Canada / US citizenship via US Army [50]

yes MArek11111 don't make it too obvious next time, lol

soldiers who have to follow their orders. If you call them mercenaries, then you need to call all soldiers that name too (including Polish soldiers of course).

That is a business transaction and that makes them mercenaries.

no, as the "business transaction" as you call it, has nothing to do with the soldiers who have to follow their orders. If you call them mercenaries, then you need to call all soldiers that name too (including Polish soldiers of course).

News / EU tribunal overrules Polish name contest in Lithuania [150]

Unfortunatelly I don't have a country (I wish I had one,it would be the best country in the whole world

all you have to do is to go back to Poland to make yourself happy again. I assume, you'd be able to call it your country, right?

I understand you are refering to Poland then you should know that Poland (by population) is a 34th country in the world vs 135th Lithuania. What's arrogant about pointing out a simple FACT?

no, you won't get out of it that cheap my friend, lol You called it "insignificant nation"., in other words, you called them basically an "UNIMPORTANT NATION" (you know exactly what you did grubas, lol)

The problem with Litvaki is that they are scared of Poles because they are a little, insignificant nation

that sounds pretty arrogant since your country is not really that big either.

First of all Indians live in India, the indigeneus people of US are NATIVE Americans.Second thing is that we are discussing assimalation with INDIGENEUS population and I see you are not assimilated at all.Have you even ever been to pow wow?

well, I called them native Americans somewhere in this thread too and I hate to repeat the same again and again. Besides, it's not like no one calls them here Indians too, grubas :-)

we are discussing assimalation with INDIGENEUS population

in case of Lithuania but as far as the USA, we were talking about the assimilation of foreigners in this country (the locals in the USA).

Oh thank you for letting me be lol.

I was talking about my personal opinion about it. I know I don't make our laws, PB heh

Like our brothers in Lithuania they're living in a region which is predominately Polish ,they speak Polish at home, often in school they date and marry other Poles, it's their little homeland away from their homeland.

well, you see the Lithuanians obviously don't share your opinion about it.

Look at it this way GW, you're part German you're American but seam to be sympathetic towards Germany.

Sympathy yes but guess what will be my answer when someone will ask me who I am and which country I love?

Now imagine if you were still American but of full German decent, then imagine you were born there and at 10 yr old moved to America, do you think u'd think of yourself as more American than German!??

read my posts before you attack me grubas. Think (please) if we created this country and not them, then we're the locals here in the USA. Our Indians are of course the citizens of the USA too but they haven't created this country even though, they were here before us.

Money, the unanimous number 1 reason, I don't think my parents or me would have ever left Poland if it wasn't to seek a well paying job and a better life 9better financially).

OK, PB I can accept it but not if you came to have a better life and then say, fu*k Americans and everything American. You see what I'm saying?

you can't expect people to forget who they are

read it again what I said.

What a ridiculous statement.Following your logic you are not local in the US unless you are assimilated with Native Americans.

Then ask yourself who created our country grubas and then we'll see what makes sense and what doesn't.
You're getting excited way too fast grubas, lol
Nothing is ridiculous about my statement. The natives haven't created the USA, we did.

No one is America forces another group to assimilate they do so if they choose.

well, America is pretty much the only country which does it that way. If you ask me, I don't necessarily like it. I believe that after 235 years, it's about time for us to start seeing it all as one. I don't have any problems however with people knowing where their ancestors came from. No problems whatsoever with Polish (just an example, it could be German etc.) clubs etc. as long as people realize why they left their country and came here. If someone wants to live here as a foreigner, why he even left his country to begin with? (Not really a question, I know why, no need to explain it).

Well, I must say that is a very silly sentence,I;m disappointed.

no it isn't at all. I've heard it from many Poles when I was in Poland. Unless you're disappointed because you believe that I should actually believe that it really was originally a part of Poland.

remain Poles and not assimilate. Russians came in large numbers after 1945, today those that didn't go back to Russia have assimilated, pleasing the Lithuanians.

well PB, you know I like you but I have to admit that whoever lives in another country is expected to assimilate and those who refuse it, never will be treated nicely by the locals. It's not only in Lithuania but just about any other country too.

America has a wide variety of food selections. You can eat lean and low calorie foods available everywhere or not. It depends what you like.

undeniable fact, you can really choose what you eat here.

News / US air base to be in Poland [193]

prove it's not :)

prove what pgtx? About the US bases locations in almost all German major cities? Jeez girl, it's really something wrong with you if you need a prove for it. This is freaking obvious to just about anyone out there.

he has more to do w/ Poland than you :)

why? Because he lives there? I did too, 4 years is enough to discuss with you guys here about Poland but no matter how long he (anyone) lives there, it doesn't make him a Pole.

US Air Force and Army Military Installations in Germany

I'm glad you posted it. It would be great if you took your time to actually go through it. You wouldn't make your statement about US bases in most of the major German cities.

Going on a break !

Have some respect for the wishes of the local people before you go barging in.

I bet, there are just as many Poles who like the idea as the ones who don't. Besides, why do you speak for them? I thought you're Scottish, right?

I know one thing for sure, this forum doesn't represent anyone at all. The Poles I was meeting while in Poland seemed to be different than the ones I'm meeting on PF. Being in Poland, I almost never had the feeling of not being liked or even hated (very rarely).

the US have a military base in almost every big German city.

where do you have this information from pgtx? Not even close at all.

i wouldn't call Germany a true German country anymore, sorry...

no need to apologize, I see you don't know much about Germany....sorry :-)

USA get **** off.

Do you always cuss short before you get off? I see the US has a very stimulating impact on you. Good for you, go for another round then.

I thought it was always seanus as in just a weird ending.

you "thought" wrong, he even admitted it earlier on PF

We don't want your 'support'.

Are you Polish? Why do you say "we"?

You surely understand Poland's history which is even more reason not to impose your bases willy-nilly without any kind of referendum.

what makes you believe that majority of Poles don't want US bases in Poland? Any concrete link (please)

They can spread their PNAC hegemoniacal BS elsewhere!

says Sean US, a guy who "obviously" hates us so much that he even used US (United States) in his nick, heh. Despite the fact that I'm against US bases in any other country because I'd rather see this money being spend for us here instead to support others, US bases in Poland will have an positive impact on the local economies of the entire regions wherever they'll be located. Ask you western neighbors, especially in the areas like Kaiserslautern in Germany where they basically live of the US Forces there.

Why don't you ask them? I have never seen it done, whether in Poland or elsewhere.

Almost everyone does it in Poland. Why deny it? Besides, who cares. Different country, different habits. Our pizza here tastes way to good to mess it up with a ketchup.
