USA, Canada / US resident, have a baby with a Polish girl. Need help on Polish Passport. [30]

Dude if you are not a US citizen the US State Department is not going to help you. I wasn't aware how convoluted this was when I suggested that with those links.

You really need a family law lawyer since you are not a citizen, not married to her, she is illegal....my god what a mess.

You need to find out what rights you even have as a parent. All states have different laws regarding this and the fact neither of you are US citizens muddies it.

When you said you confiscated the US passport you mean the child's US passport correct? As it reads the child is the only US citizen here.

USA, Canada / Tax refund and US Naturalization interview [2]

Tax refunds are normal. Income taxes are estimated when paid so sometimes you have to pay more and sometimes you get a refund since you paid too much. Point being that it's normal and shouldn't have any impact on naturalization as it is totally unrelated.

If you hadn't paid taxes and were being investigated or something then they might bring it up but sounds like you are fine.

Feedback / The image of Poland according to PolishForums [90]

How did they get that stereotype in their mind if they had NO connection to Polish people at all?

The same way you have...watching too much TV.

Just because my experience with Poles matches up often with the stereotypes it doesnt mean I am wrong. You just don't like it because you are obsessed with a culture you have no direct tie to. You remind me of kids in school in the states who said they were "Italian" because of their surname. Give me a break....

USA, Canada / Moving back from Canada to Poland, yes or no? [39]

So far the only thing the muslims have taken over in Poland are the kebab shops. But I think it is a plan to slowly poison you. Every time you bite into one of those tasty kebabs you are one step closer to death.

You are an American. If you were born in Poland and became an American then you could call yourself Polish-American. But you are American.

Hyphenating your nationality to try and sound different or unique is lame.

You have never been to Poland and know nothing of life there. I doubt you speak the language. You are perpetuating the stereotypes people have of Poles in general with your nonsense. My advise to you is to shut up before you make it even worse. Wait until you grow up and actually have some experience regarding issues before you speak.

most of the polish people who comment on this site live largly in US ,Canada and Britain.

A lot of them are not even Polish...they are descendants of Poles. And these people and the Polish expats are ironically more obnoxious and stereotypical than the actual Polish people living in Poland.

Ok I said I was done but I can't resist. You are not even Polish dude...give it up. At best you are an American born to Polish parents and maybe not even that. You are more obsesessed with this than ACTUAL Polish people.

Frankly I doubt you lived in Poland for any great length of time.

I really don't care what you believe. And did you ever think that maybe the reason I think the way I do is BECAUSE I lived there?

Anyway we are done here...you have been a real let down.

Ooh gold star for you. Who cares?

You were ranting about POLISH people not angsty teens with Polish ancestors who want to **** and moan online. You were misleading and trying to pretend you knew what you were talking about. You are clearly some kid who is bored and angry.

I feel like I just found out I was arguing about particle physics with someone and found out they were a 10yo with Down's Syndrome. What a letdown.

It means what your last post confirms. You don't even know what being Polish IS. You haven't even BEEN there let alone lived there. Your opinion has nothing holding it up. You could have just told us all from the beginning that you had ZERO experience. I am an American and I know more about Poland and Polish people than you do so I am pretty sure my assessment of them is more accurate and based in fact than yours which is based in...well.....nothing.

No I never lived in Poland.

Then you have become irrelevant to me. You have never lived there and no nothing about it first hand. You know not of what you speak. Ciao Raging Man.

Where do you read in the newspapers that Poles are "always overreacting" and "ridiculously sensitive"??

I formed my opinion about Polish culture by actually living IN Poland for a very long time. I am not sure what you are on about with the newspaper quote but the media seems to be your primary source of information rather than real life experience. Have you even lived in Poland or do I as an American have more experience in the place than you?

Maybe you are confused as to who "Poles" are. I am finding out that expat Poles and people with Polish background are even worse than those IN Poland. They seem to be compensating or something.

I would think you would want a Pole like me to "rage on"

That makes no sense. Why would I want to see your rants? Your reaction above proves my points about Polish people in general..you have overreacted and been ridiculously sensitive. You play the victim card at every turn. YOU are the exact kind of person that perpetuates this stereotype you hate. Well done.

When you spam a forum with 'outrage' posts expect to get messed with. If you could step outside yourself and read your posts you would be embarrassed. They sound like a lunatic who is drunk and raging online.

Hey MediaWatch...did you hear about the Pole who was electrocuted while changing a lightbulb? It was shocking!

Get a lawyer now man. Also look into the Hague Convention...I am not sure if Poland is a signatory yet but it has some agreements between signatory nations when it comes to kidnapped children.

I can't tell you if she can get him a Polish passport from a consulate in the US but my gut is saying she can. I would get a lawyer right away and try to get something documented that you fear she will attempt this. That way there is a trail if she does try to leave with him.

You are correct in that once she has him in Poland she has the high ground as laws always favor the local parent. However you are not totally screwed if she is able to get him out of the USA you will just be in for a bigger and more expensive battle.

Try these links to the US State Department and make sure your lawyer researches the Hague Convention articles that deal with abduction:

Love / English girl moving to Poland with my Polish boyfriend for the first time [69]

Or you can escape back to civilization.

You said it best...Poland grinds you down. The locals are so beat down by it they don't even realize it half the time.

Expats stay in Poland for two reasons:

1. They have a Polish spouse/gf etc
2. Their money goes farther (and this is one is becoming more and more untrue as prices in Poland have gotten stupid)

Notice there is nothing on the list saying how wonderful the quality of life in Poland is...because it's not. Most every expat I know really doesn't like the place after a few years at best.

Life / COMBATING "POLACK" JOKES [460]

A bar customer asked the bartender if he wanted to hear a Polack joke. The bartender pointed to a large man at the end of the bar and said, "He's Polish." Then the bartender pointed to a burly policeman near the door and repeated, "He's Polish." The bartender finished, "Now think about whether you want to tell that joke, because I'm Polish, too." The customer replied, "I guess I won't tell that joke after all. I'd have to explain it three times."

Love / Do Polish women have bad tempers? [49]

It's not your fault if you have tried to be reasonable. Women in general thrive on drama usually. Of course there are always exceptions but rather than being direct they play games. Like the "whats wrong honey?" "nothing" game. It really means you should KNOW whats wrong like some mind reader. Apparently women think communication is for children and real men should be mentalists. Nevermind the fact they they could just TELL you that they are mad you didn't notice their new shoes that look exactly like the other 37 pairs they have.

12? Why not 11 or 13? What made you choose 12 when trying to sound clever?

Clearly I hit a nerve or you wouldn't feel the need to comment. Your pride took a hit.

Love / Do Polish women have bad tempers? [49]

She said it was because of the word "hate".

Polish women do get stupidly unreasonable concerning this word. They act like it's worse than raping the pope to say it.

So yes they do have bad tempers compared to many other cultures. Don't try to understand the issue with certain words as it makes no sense and you will never know which are taboo until it is too late.

Also..."I will love you forever" in girl speak ACTUALLY means "I will love you until I get bored with you because I have unrealistic expectations and my dad always told me I was a princess who deserves the best....or until something better comes along...I also don't even need a reason to totally change my mind but when it happens you can be sure it will be YOUR fault"

Study / Is there a lot of racism in Warsaw (Brazilian student's question) [83]

No Spanish is not popular there. You can usually find someone in a busy place who will speak at least some English but don't count on everyone being able to...even young people often cannot.

On the racism issue...I saw it many times when I was with people who were not white. Poles are 99% white and regardless of what the patriots here will tell you they are a very racist people overall. You should hear the way they talk about blacks, arabs, asians etc behind closed doors. In public at least the older people won't mess with you just maybe stare sometimes and mutter under their breath at worst. The young people will be divided in 4 groups as far as public behavior: 1.Those who think you are cool because you are from exotic South America.....2.Those who act like they don't care and ignore you....3.Those who will be overtly racist and call you names to their friends thinking you cannot understand (and you may not)...4. The chavs who will try to harass you at night when they are drunk and trying to be tough guys.

Good luck.
