Language / is it stll jeden [33]

hi guys
i got it, i see the wrong use of 'robi' that would be in the context of making/doing s/thing. what shouild have said is' czy pan ' so am i more correct if i said.

czy pan jak pytasz.
the czy pan is the ' do you' question

hi frd
do i then omit the ' do i' in the question 'how do i ask/say' as in my previous post, the question was ' how do i ask' so the 'do i' bit is left out, that doesn't seem right somehow. i would have written ' jak robi pytasz' what am i not getting.

Language / Why in the world there are three ways to write simple U ?!?! [54]

i am an english native, while we are on the subject how can we critisize. seanus! that sounds like see--nus, what kind of name is that. we have all kinds of stupid words too as have been discribed, if you want to learn it do so, dont waste your time on the critique. there are none more stupid words then those used in names, cybil, cibil, sybil, charley charlie, psycho, where the hell does the 'p' fit or come from. its the way it is. live with it.

Language / iec conjugation [47]

im glad some one undertsands my difficult position, i will continue asking questions, if i dont get an answer, then it will become clearer later. even now some of the basics are still not sat right but at least i understand.

thanks for your comments

chaza

my book is set out like below for these (imperfect) imperative words, which i understand to be like a command, ie go! start!
but what i am coming up with dont make sense, i get them to mean, lets get dressed, they all get dressed.
------------------ubierajmy
ubieraj ----------- ubierajcie
niech ubiera ------niech ubierają

thanks for that strzyga
you may have read how im not listening to advice, on the contrary i am studying hard with the basics as i agree thats where i have to start. but i cant ignore the questions that i come across even though they may be too advanced for me just yet. i dont mean to disrespect any advisor on here, if i have a question like the indeterminates, cxhances are i wont undertsand them, but it puts to rest the question for now. i had a problem with jeść turns into jad when conjugated. i cant see how that is for the life in me, and have just accepted thats the way it is, and get used to it. that is fine now, but at least the enquiry has been satisfied. i still have several questions in certain areas to go yet, but as i am being told i am going with the basics and digesting how they go together.

thanks for everything

hi strzyga
what about the present passive and active passive, these seem to me to be the 'doING, and the dONE forms. and nonfinite.

ok thats coming clearer, i have my book now and i am getting through it, but i do have a slight question. the word bym, is by +m. or byś = by+ś. does the by mean one thing, and the m or ś mean something else.

as i am reading the part about the different tenses its getting me lost a bit, maybe its me.
i am clear about the am,em łam,łem parts.
the book talks about nonfinite verbs and present passive participle, and presen passive active, we might even have gone over this ground before.

thanks

łbym raczej = i would rather right, but you need to put some verb in front of "łbym" as it doesn't appear on its own, e.g. byłbym, wolałbym, and its male, for female it would be: byłabym, wolałabym

this one i'll have to think about, the penny hasn't dropped yet.

pojechał = he rides/ he was riding he went i'm not sure about yet.
It's past tense, not present
in this case then it must be ' he rode' he had ridden'

this one będę iść naprzółem = i will go forward. i got to be będę pójdę naprzód because naprzółem would be 'i was forward'

either będę iść naprzód or pójdę naprzód; naprzółem doesn't exist as naprzód is an adverb, not a verb. Past tense would be: (po)szedłem naprzód.

so this while i get what you have said, what i have put them must read, i wll, i will go forward'

Language / iec conjugation [47]

going back to the drawing board i realised my errors but they are a bit different,
raczej is an adj, so
łbym raczej = i would rather

this one pojechał = he rides/ he was riding he went i'm not sure about yet.
szukałem = before this posting i got to be I searched/i was searching
this one będę iść naprzółem = i will go forward. i got to be będę pójdę naprzód because naprzółem would be 'i was forward'

Święciam = i celebrated/ I was celebrating;

how did i do this time guys

Language / iec conjugation [47]

lets take the word jeść to eat. this part here says,
imperfective: insert the same consonant as in their present tense before the l or ł
perfective: insert the same consonant as in the present tense of their imperfective counterpart
th present tense will be; jem.
so the imperfect will be; jebyłem i was eating.
perfect; jebym; i eat.

have i got it, while i am trying to commit them to memory, i have to understand them before i do,
