News / Poland versus Greece in economy [175]

Greece should give up the euro zone and let itself be annexed by the neighbouring Turkey.

that is probably one of the dumbest most ignorant posts I have ever read on here. And that is going some...
presuming you are not trolling that is...,
The main difference between Greece and Poland is that people really like to visit Greece for their holidays..:)
I have been to Crete, Rhodes, Ios, Naxos, Paros, AntiParos, Samos, Zante, Kephalonia, Evia, the Peloponnese..
Athens
and I am far from finished..

Work / Polish Canadian ESL job/student advice [78]

the descendants of colonialists have to account for their great great great great grandparents' sins?

you need to read your history, it's a bit more recent that that.
Personally I think you should stay in the states and not bother yourself with Europe, it's obviously upsetting you.
I don't suppose the people in the Punjab wanted to be annexed, or if the people of the Congo wanted their hands chopped off for not being productive enough...

Frankly, yes it does, after raping Africa and Asia and stripping wealth worldwide, not to mention how its early immigrants were treated, not to mention the atrocities of the Franco-Algerian war, France deserves everything they get, along with Belgiium, and the Netherlands. And the UK.

This is not 'BS'. YOu cant take , take and take and not give back. Those countries are only rich , attractive destinations because of colonialism and slavery.

Poland will simply not hve the same issues and to declare hysterically that it will..is just...hysteria.

Italy was not a great colonial nation, just a few short lived colonies under Mussolini. They are unfortunate geographically.

Dirk for someone who is always banging on about his intellectual capabilities, you sound remarkably dense.
Now, think hard....
What colonies did France have ? OK?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_French_possessions_and_colonies
Now think a bit harder..
What colonies did Poland have?

Dominic have you ever met Jon? I guess not.
Why do you 'doubt' what a stranger on the internet says he does / has done for a living? Why would he lie?
Why are you always so anxious to prove your superiority?
is it an Amerkin thing?

Should "the lamb of God" be translated "the seal of God" for Eskimos? Should the bread of life be 'rice of life' for East Asians?@ mafketis

Jeez I don't know, I am not a translator..

I do help a translator 'polish up' her translations sometimes, make them sound more natural.
her English is superb but still ...

I know Jon, and it's usually you or Dominic..:):)

News / Road deaths increase in Poland [43]

tbh I am not surprised there are so many road deaths in Poland, when the test must be laughably easy and drunken driving not taboo. More like UK 40 years ago.

If I am driving and I see Polish plates ahead, I will change lanes or even take a different route. Their driving is a joke. Sorry.

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

There are more Holocaust claims for monetary compensation than there are victims and that's a fact.

link? source?
or is you declaring 'that's a fact' supposed to be enough?

Study / British Council CELTA in Krakow, how would you rate it? [60]

CELTA is regarded as the most respected teaching certification in the world

it really isn't you know.
As Jon said, there is MA in ELT, there is QTS, DELTA, PGCE and so on. These will get you a job quicker than some backpacker with a CELTA

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

its very 'right-on' pro Palestinian isn't it, the Guardian?

I found a great way to upset people on pro Palestinian stalls in town centres, you know the ones?

Just ask them why they hate Jews so much. The last one I did it to, nearly started crying. Then he packed his little stall up.

Scratch a right on political protestor and you invariably find a Jew hater.

Mind you I have been hearing some stuff about Palestinian women in Israeli jails,,,and it's not good.

Work / Studies In Poland, is it easy to survive on part-time jobs? [259]

are you being deliberately obtuse or are you just thick?

YOU WILL NOT FIND A JOB TO SUPPORT YOUR STUDIES IN POLAND

HALF OF THE POPULATION HAS EMIGRATED FOR THIS VERY REASON AND THEY SPEAK THE BLOODY LANGUAGE

Work / Studies In Poland, is it easy to survive on part-time jobs? [259]

well I don't suppose any studies would be a waste per se but I am sure you would have more chance of being able to earn while you study, and get a more prestigious degree, if you went to the UK, for example.
