News / Thousands of teachers to lose their jobs in Poland [57]

in favour of history

You sound a lot liek Mayfixit. To him a knowledge of one's nation's history and culural heritage plus 4.40 zł will get you a ride on any Warsaw public-transport conveyance.

Sure there's room for cynical careerists who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing that isn't calculated in dollars and cents or złotys and grosze. Poladn wants to devleop the total human and that is in sync with many of today's Polish youths. History, patriotism, Żołnierzre Wyklęci, historical re-enactments, etc. are now more popular than ever before. It'd be a shame if young Poles were turned into a mindless army of dumb dolts like their US counterparts, glued to their smatrphones and wasting their young lives texting and playing computer games.

Sure there's room for cynical careerists who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing that isn't calculated in dollars and cents or złotys and grosze. Poland by contrast wants to devleop the total human and that is in sync with many of today's Polish youths. History, patriotism, Żołnierzre Wyklęci, historical re-enactments, etc. are now more popular than ever before. no legal responisibility

But it's not illegal. There is no law saying a party leader must head up the govt. Since JK is not a charismatic speaker but a skilled behind-the-scenes strategist, that is the best solution for PiS.

News / Good-change government raising minimum wage in Poland, cutting SB pensions [213]

Good indices growing, bad ones falling, PO still badmouthing!

Under the good-change govt Poland's economy is in fantastic shape. 500+ has been a huge success, the budget deficit and unemploymrent are at an all-time low, inflation is low, investments are growing and there's a good business climate in industry, construction, retail trade and seriices. The Szczecin Shipyard, which Tusk pronoucned dead, has been revitalised and is re-employing workers and working on a modern car and passenger ferry. All the "total oppositon's" doosday predictions auguring imminent economic collapse have turned out to be a huge crock of sh*t. So far, this has been the best year in post-PRL history. And yet the PO badmouthing continues. Uninvited, Schetyna crashed a Brussels summit to spew even more venom on his native land. Of course, that's no surprise. Schetyna is not concerned about the good of the country, only about how to return to the trough!

News / Opole townsfolk outraged by mayor's destruction of their song festival [137]

He got TVP to agree

Typical PiSlamiquese red herring, assuming that people have forgotten the details. Rodowicz annoucned on TVP in May that the Opole festival would go ahead and that all those she invited to celebrate her golden anniversary on stage could perform. But Kayah had already puleld out and to save face did not agree to perform and took others with her. The truth is that we are back at square one with a month-long PiS-bashing interlude in between. Backers of hte Losers' Club love to beat a dead horse!

were able to place much pressure on him

Alone no, but they helped mobilise local public opinion which were irate over the demise of the festival -- a source of both income and prestige.

has his party line

A PiSlameque insinuation. Your flippant remark should read: He's got a Polish heart and soul and intuitively knows what will advance or harm the Polish cause. That is all the easier at present after Poland's national itnerests had been dragged through the mud over 8 years of PO scmaster misrule.

Opole Mayor buckles under and signs deal to hold song festival in September

Opole Mayor buckles under to town council and popular pressure and signs deal with TVP to hold the Opole Song Festival in September. Apparently the amount of negative feedback from Opole townsfolk (and voters) showed him what side his bread was buttered on. Another example of the harm mean-spirited, hysterical government-bashers can cause to tiem-honoured cultural events, patrtiotic occasions, religious worship, commemorative ceremonies and anything else they think can derail the governnment and get them back to the feed trough. But will the Michniks, TVNs and celebrities apologise for creating a yet another futile rumpus and egging the trouble-makers on? Not on your life. Instead they are already on the lookout for the next pretext with which they can bash the good-change government.

Polonia / Who still speaks pidigin Polish after many years in the country? [59]

said 'che'

This of course is a popular, not academic, phoneic rendering. Of course cie and cze are different sounds, but without special phonetic symbols it isn't easy to render them on the typical keyboard. Anyone interested in fathoming the basics of Polish phonology may visit:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_phonology#The_consonant_systemhtoming Polish
This is how those two sounds are presented phonetically:
/t͡ʂ/ cz czas ('time')
/t͡ɕ/ ć/c(i) ćma ('moth')
The difficulty in illustrating this the popular way is that English is pronoucned differently by different speakers. Cz is close to the ch in chat, whislt there is no easy way of popularly rendering ć. However, manyAmerican speakers pronounce the ch in cheese close to ć, so the English could be be rendered in Polish as ciz. The same speakers have no close equivalent of Polish cz. Many Americans esp. in the interior would pronounce This cheese is cheap quite close to Đys ciz yz cip.

Your native language

So your suspension is over and you're back on the brit bully tag-team. That's good because your guru PiSlamic was getting the business from the PF's more decent posters.

Anyway you're wrong. Since my parents were busy setting up a new business (a pharmacy), I began life speaking Polish and was raised largely by four Poish-born grandparents who spoke very little English.

Maybe you know? As you well know, PiSlamic is busy sticking his big misshapen nose into other peoples business, homes, earnings and even citizenship. Perhaps you know why he hasn't applied for Polish citizenship althouhg he is constantly urgimng pothers to do. Can't pass the Polish language and culture test?

people who claim to be

Can there be aynthing more laughable than someone trying to prove they are Polish when they haven't learnt to communicate in Polish properly after 22 years of constant exposure. That a person can be so enamoured of his boring, run-of-the-mill Anglo-jabber that in all these years he has yet to contribute a single post to PF's Po Polsku section.

And now your link (run to Google translate!)

News / What impact will Donald Trump's election have on Poland? [331]

Trump-Duda talks the highpoint of US preisdent's visit to Poland

The most important element of US President Donald Trump's trip to Warsaw on 6 July will be bilateral talks with President Andrzej Duda, said the chief of staff at the Polish president's office.

Speaking on Radio Wnet, Krzysztof Szczerski said that the three most important points of discussion are already known.
"Trump-Duda's bilateral talks are the number one point" on the agenda, Szczerski said, adding that the upcoming visit by Trump was made possible through an invitation by President Duda, "so it is definitely the most important point from Poland's point of view".

The second point, according to Szczerski, is Trump's participation at the Three Seas summit in the Polish capital, and thirdly, a public speech by Donald Trump with a message directed to Poles and other US allies. Hopefully he will incldue a hard-hitting message to Putin in the vein of Ronald Reagan's "Tear down this wall!" appeal issued in West Berlin.

News / "Newsweek" inspiring assassination of Kaczyński? [10]

you support Newsweek's detailed instructions for potential assassins

As usual you went off on a tangent, so let me repeat very slowly and clearly and, if need be, repeat it even more slowly and clearly: Do you support Newsweek's detailed instructions for potential assassins? Would your answer be the same if it pertained to TusK or his puppeteer Soros??

News / "Newsweek" inspiring assassination of Kaczyński? [10]

assassination plot

Already in early December 2015 KOD had posted a death threat against Kaczyński and that caused a major rumpus in the Sejm. Thr words "We will not hesitate to shoot Kaczyński dead" were posted on KOD's Facebook page. The incident was reported to the police and prosecutor. The threat was deleted after 9 minutes but managed to achieve 13 likes in that time. So far the only fatality in PO's decade-old hate campaign against PiS occurred several years ago when a PO supporter shot a PiS staff worker dead in Łódź.

All correpsondents in Poland had their background checked and there was no way they cold prevent it. No-one asked for their consent, they just did it. It's probably still on file somewhere. Check with IPN if you want to access it.

assassination plots

Most likely it would not be a formal plot but the hate industry activating some fanatical sicko. That's what happened in Łódź when a PO supporters shot dead a PiS staffer.

Pray tell us whether you support Newsweek's detailed instructions for potential assassins. Was it a wise move? What if Gazeta Polska had done the same re Tusk's movment's and building plan?

We all know PiSlamci would love to provide a few hypothetical scenarios of the assassination and luxuriate imagining the pain and suffering his bugbear might endure. Except he's afraid the ABW would take an interest in him and raid his 27 m² Jana Pawła "residence".

News / "Newsweek" inspiring assassination of Kaczyński? [10]

The ABW have taken an itnerest in social-emdia posters calling for the assassination of PiS boss Kaczyński. They were inspired by "Newsweek" which described the layout of PiS' Nowogrodzka HQ: when Kaczyński arrives, how many security guards and staff are present, where the monitoring cameras are located and what obstacles to expect when trying to get to Kaczyński's office. It is understandable thazt Lis is still reeling from the loss of his TVP hate show which was replaced by Jan Pośpieszalski's decent and objective pubili-affairs show "Warto rozmawiać". But providing such undisguised inspiration for some crazed fanatic just waiting to make headlines?!

The PO already have the first poltical murder since PRL on their conscience -- a PO fanatic who shot a staff member of PiS' Łódź office a few years ago. Number 2 was Jolanta Brzeska whose charred remains were found in a suburban Warsaw forest. She was an activist supproting Warsaw tenants evicted by the City Hall reprivatisation mafia. Apparently Lis is shooting for the No. 3 spot!

Do najzagorzalszych antypisowców należy red. naczelny "Newsweeka" Tomasz Lis.

That suggests tat everyone voted into office is a sterling patriot deidcated only to the good of the nation. The public is easily swayed by clever propaganda, to cite only the way PO pulled the wool over people's eyes for a full 8 years.

is actually pronounced has changed

Wouldn't that be somwhat comparable to Enlgish? The word "night" at one time was pronoucned like German "nicht". The old spelling has remained but the pronunciation has changed. You've probaby listened to the Canterbury Tales pronoucned as they were in Chaucer's time -- it sounds much more Germanic and guttural.

History / Poland's law and justice.. return of Sanacja? [19]

Sanacja

Threre are similarities and differences. Sanacja was intended to sanitise or cleanse society of cliques, old-boy clans, professional dynasties and the corruption that went with them. In that way, it was simialr to PiS. But the PiS government is in no wise militarised -- only civilians in the ministries.

Some have accused Piłsudski of being a dictator, even a fascist (today's PiS-bashing opposition levels the same charges at Kaczyński). But Piłsudski after setting up the state did withdraw from pulbic life for a coupla years only to see the country rife with corrupiton and going to pieces. The Nazi fifth column, Soviet fifth column (KPP) and Ukrainian terrorists all engaged in subversive activites and posed seroious security threats. Niceties and appeals would not have worked, so he had to choice but to stage his 1926.
