News / Restoring the Port of Elbląg? [113]

It's back

Bogu niech będą dzięki! At long lost. That will give de-portified" Elbląg a new lease of life. Relying on an outlet to the Baltic on the Russian side of the lagoon is an iffy proposition. They can always find some pretext to deny Polish vessels access such as temporarily closed for repairs just as they used alleged "health concerns" to boycott Polish food imports. You can never trust sa Rooskie!

--Ensuring that 14 of 15 TK judges are appointed by and serve the interests of the trough-defending camp with 1 recommended by everyone else.

CORRECTION: The abbreviation PO/KOD inadvertently dropped out of that sentence. It should read:
--Ensuring that 14 of 15 TK judges are appointed by the PO/KOD side and serve the interests of the trough-defending camp with 1 recommended by everyone else.

KOD comedy

Giertych appears to be a classic turncoat -- buoyed up by frustarted poltical ambition. He did try to re-Polonise the school curriculum in 2005-2007 but when PO won in 2007 he began cosying up to those in power. Once a good right-wing national conservative (the Giertych fmaily were known Dmowski-ites), he is now seeking a poltical foothold among frustrated liberal-leftist trough-defending losers and pro-foreign-interest types. It makes one wonder whether he harbours any genuine beliefs and values of his own or is merely a political opportunist.

Your vision of utopia.

How would you describe the Trough Defenders' vision of utopia?

--Putting Duda, Kaczyński and other prominent PiS politiciasn before the State Tribunal.
--Ensuring that 14 of 15 TK judges are appointed by and serve the interests of the trough-defending camp with 1 recommended by everyone else.
--Poland back on the leash of foreign bankers, retailers and corporations;
--Poland that is "market friendly" once again, meaning exempting foreign capitalists from paying their fair share of taxes, allowing them to transfer most of their profits out of the courntry and bending over backwards to please the Poles' Western masters.

--Poland allowing foreign domination of the private press and broadcasting sector and their unrestricted flooding of the media with foreign content.
--Poland bending over backwards to assure the nomenklatura-entitlement crowd of continued preferential treatment and overrepresentation in the halls of power and privilege.
--Poland guaranteeing the above caste domination of the public media.
--Poland catering to foreign mega-retailers and effectively pushing Polish family-owned corner shops out of business.
--Lowering the school-starting age to 5 and raising retirementage to 70 across the boards.
--Reinstatement of the middle school.

nothing is likely to change.

They can march or not march till they're blue in the face and nothing is likely to changte anyway until 2023. By then PO, Petru and other will be only a memory. By then Poles will be living in a truly free and sovereign Poland, free of unwelcome German poliitcians interfering, foreign banks and retaile chains exploiting the nation and foreign corporations paying starvation wages to their Polish employees and locating toxic industries on Polish soil. So also in 2023 PiS are likely to get re-elected to continue their good changes policy.

many blatant lies

Perhaps, but it also contians many speciifc offences. Why not address some of those? Like the OFE heist in broad daylight to patch up the PO regime's budget. And don't+ say PiS will do the same to what's left of OFE. The bottom line is that Polish people were robbed of their savings.

I'm not familiar with the Internet surveillance, so clue us in. I do beleive there would be a lot less nonsense, hate, filth and profanity on the web if commenters were required to provide their full name and email address and not hide behind nicks.

some concrete examples

I have posted this listing of 500 PO scams and muckups before, but you probably don't read Polish fluently. Find a native speaker to translate it for you:

ublogpress.pl/node/7889

P.S: Oh yes, the Brit Bullies naturally didn't bother to address any individual issues but simply dismissed it as an unreliable soruce. Very easy and convenient way of avoiding a substantive riposte. If you are serious, then Google any of those items and find out all the whys and wherefores, and then we can discuss things.

promotion

Throwing something out for discussion is not promotion. I read GW regularly but you know what I think of the KPP-rooted Schechterites.
Even though his bombastic style may be reminiscnt of wildly gesticulating Lis' rabble-rousign during a KOD march, one should ask: does Kowalski) have anything meaningful to say? Itdoesn't speak to trough-defenders obviosuly, but many of his points do make sense to a lot of people: "KOD types are running the show forcing people yourself to emirgate or stay home and barely make ends meet." That speaks to a lot of Poles, atlhough the trough-defenders have failed to address themselves to such complaiints.

they say exactly that

I meant everybody on PF. Secondly, no-one says IN ENGLISH "What the wh*re!"
And IN POLISH no-one says: "Gdzie pierdol byłeś?"
Idioms and swear-words cannot be directly translated and still make any sense.

opposition are growing in strength

ATTENTION ANGLO-EXPATS: Have your spouse, live-in lover, landlady or other Polish native speaker translate this for you. It shows that by comarpison PiS is but a gentle, little lamb.

That's meant to be a headline. Ideally I'd have preferred to start a new thread but I know the mods would stick it into an existing one. The only alternative is to provide a headline in caps.

it means

Everyone knows what it means ltierally. But as an expletive it is not used that way in English.
No-one says: "Wh*re, I missed my bus!" "Or what the wh*re are you doing?"

people on the streets

KOD - POLITICAL SPRINGBOARD FOR A RUTHLESS HANDFUL

KOD coordinator for Warmia-Mazury Anna Grzybowska has seen through the KOD façade and apologised to her friends whom she also brought out in the streets. "I believed in something that turned out to be merely a springboard for a dozen-odd inidivudals," she explained. She had asked KOD leader Mateusz Kijowski to produce invoices revealing the group's finances - an asbolute no-no. One of the KOD board members wrote in reply: "What the f*ck (the Polish "k*rwa" isn't easy to translate!), you ain't here to philosophise but to do a job. If you don't like it, buzz off!"

without anyone pulling strings.

...except for Soros and his agents and front groups like the Stefan Batory Foundation, all nicely tucked away behind the scenes to avoid public scrutiny. The stage-directed end results shows purportedly spontaneous crowds taking part in allegedly spontaneous protests and chanting what are said to be spontaneous slogans with no Petru, Kurski, Blumenstein or other cheerleader leading and starting the chants! A nice fairy tale for the gullible!

how to do the things

The trough-defenders claim they are moving too fast, you say they're not doing anything. PiS know what they're doing and where tehy want to lead Poladn -- away from the post-nomenlatura elites and foreign corporate lackeys...

I belong to the opposition

But if you identify with the democratically disentitled (ie pushed away from the trough), then you must have a deeper reason if it doesn't affect your own material situation. That's what this is really all about -- the entitlement and impunity of the nomenklatura during and after the rountable. In various forms it has periodically resrufaced and probably will contonue to for years to come.

One former Solidairty activist put it this way: "I was in Solidarity, took part in hunger strikes, clashed with ZOMOs and was interned only to find that the regime's people and their families are the ones who won out. Many people like myself are barely making ends meet."

Dunno about you, but I empathise more with people like that than with the foreign big-money interests who dream of a Poland that is "market-friendly" (ie receptive to exploitation).

activist

Well, Delph, although you're always eager to analyse others, you yourself still haven't fessed up as to whether you're are a paid activist of the anti-government Komitet Obrony Koryta, a paid lobbyist for the foreign bankster/corporate agenda or a "useful idiot" who actually beleives he is somehow defending demcoracy by siding with those whiom voters have demcratically pushed away from the feed trough.

News / Confessions of a paid hater / troll in Poland [42]

an anonymous letter from a young guy

How do you know it was from a young guy? Without any proof you would have been more credible to write "said to be from a young guy". Especially since Angora is a liberal-leftstream rag known to fabricate and bend news to suit its agenda.

What about the Petru/PO/KOD hate industry reps. They're far more skilled becuase they've been at it for over a decade. Originally they were only PO-serving haters, but since then Petru and other trough-defenders have jumped on the bandwagon.

Polish TV

Do you mean public TV or just what is on the telly in Poland? By law public broadcasters are obliged to puruse a public mission to provide quality news and cultural content. That has not been too successful thus far. Maybe PiS' national media will change things for the better. Naturally, if public TV gets too high quality, down-dumbed audiences weaned on idiotic licenced US sitcoms and "Dancing with Stars"-type spectacles will switch over to hyper-popcommercialised Polsat and TVN. That is an age-old issue mulled by cultural activists, artists and educators the world over. Should the slobs be kept in ignoance and entertained with the kind of popculture tripe they're used to or should an effort be made to improve the overall cultural and intellctual level of society?

madness

Madness is spoon-feeding the nation wtih the kidn of popcommercial crapola served up by the big-time foreign-owned broacasting corproations. Such programming has laso made its way into Poland's public TV and radio. Pro-Polish PiS are converting public broacasting into national media serving the Polsih nation, not foreign exploiters.

proper home-cooked meals.

Slapping together dinner using the over-processed convenience foods, heat-and-eat this, instant that, quick-cooking something else (not to mention chemical-rich snack foods) that constitute the bulk of offerings at Polish supermarkets and groceries is not a proper made-from-scratch meal. That kind takes a lot of knowledge, skill and TLC -- nearly impsossible when both parents work. Unless, that is, the family's got a live-in babcia. There is nothing like a Polish babcia!

Anyway, just go to a Carrefour, Tesco, Biedronka, Leclerc, etc. and watch what kind of over-processed crap Polish shoppers put into their trolleys!

for 4 years

Marching for four years until everybody is blue in the face? Intersting perspective. Believe me, the novelty will soon wear off. Normal people have lives to lead and only frustrated misfits, whqckos, busy-bodies and sundry losers have nothing better to do than chant, rant and pound the pavement.

demonstrations next Saturday

And on Monday following the weekend PiS will be shaking in their boots and step down so Petru can rule. LOL
And Grzegorz Schetyna has failed in his bid to have EU sanctions imposed on his own country. That would require 27-state consensus and Hungary and probably others would politely decline. The PO continue making foolds of themselves.

what PiS represent

No, that's what your so-called "modernity" represents. Working parents shunting their kids off to be raised by strangers in nurseries, kindergartens and after-school clubs may be bringing in a double pay packet but at the price of their kids emotional bonds and balanced development. Maybe better-off parents can afford a nanny and cook, but the vast majority cannot. Brits are notorious for their boarding-school obsession which may be convenient to parents but weakens or destroys inter-generational family ties.

modern day

To you modernity are kids running wild unsupervised after school, falling in with bad company, doing designer drugs, doing poorly at school, families grabbing a bite of fast food or at feeding at home on highly-processed and chemical-rich food becuase there's no time to prepare proper home-cooked meals.

only to stay at home

I can see you've been brainwashed by femi-fascist propaganda. A homemaker does NOT STAY AT HOME but works more than an 8-hour shift at one of the world's most demanding and respsonsible posts. Running a household and raising a tight-knit, loving family is a major challenge with which most career-obsessed males could not cope!

public broadcaster

Then why was the "objective" public broadcaster titlted in a pro-PO, anti-PiS direction under PO/PSL?
Now the public media will finally become "reliable, obejctive and credible", as stated by the presidential spox.
