Fair question.
When i was in SA years after apartheid, I saw a complete disproportionate distribution of wealth between blacks and whites.
I met some young black SAfricans who were well educated and got on with it.
When you look at the statistics it is shocking how much murder, rape and other crimes but it does go hand in hand with poverty.
Comparing SA's fall of Apartheid and Poland's fall of communism is not an accurate similarity.
There are huge differences and ongoing struggles in SA that eclipse what is happening in Poland today.
Also the remanence of communism is still very visible in Poland.
It is certainly not true that all white kids live in gated communities.
But gated communities are popular and not very many black people live in them, truth be told.
I should mention that I loved South Africa, I wanted to move there and it was only luck that I ended up in Poland instead.
Good point, but could it not also be argued that as an entire generation has now grown up without apartheid, shouldn't the culture developed under apartheid be less pronounced amongst the younger generation? Just like people on here often blame Polish people for "being that way" because of Communism, while no-one under 25 can really understand what life under Communism was like.

Women in Pakistan and India are subject to gang rapes and family rapes (as punishment) in this day and age...these men do not get punished...is that just a coincidence that they happen to be none European and not white?

I can imagine.
It is crazy to cut yourself off from the world, the way that North Korea do but hey! it's their country.
It was similar in Lithuania when it was the U.S.S.R., they didn't even have freedom of movement in the country.
You had to get permission to go to the country side from the city and visa versa.
Except for Siberia, that seemed an easy enough place to go to, one way for a lot of people of course.

"nemeckiy schet" (German count) is the same as "to go Dutch" in the US)

Ah they are all bark and no bite.
It is nice to see the different cultures assembling on a Spanish beach...
the Germans getting up sometime when everyone else is going to sleep to put their towels on deck chairs.
Somehow a German thinks his towel turns into a flag of some kind when abroad, giving him exclusive rights to these public deck chairs.
Then some hung over man (no names cough) stretches out down the beach. The only thing he wants to hear is the sound of the ocean.
Then some nasty piece of work, Ze Deutsch man, DEMANDS HIZ CHAIR!!!, you can see the vains bulging out of his forehead as you wonder what the hell he is talking about. Ze ToweLL! Ze ToweLL, it iz MINE! now you go!
Having a hangover from hell and not wanting to deal with this you reach around and find that in fact some inconsiderate dope did put his towel underneath you.
And with one swift moment you have pulled the thing from under you and set it free in to the air flying down the beach.
The last thing you hear just before you turn your back on him is "Now you GO GET MY TOWEL!!", once turned fully around you hear some curses being efficiently muttered and trailing off the direction of the towel.
And then you hear the waves lapping again and all is well with the universe :)

Of course your friend is a ranger and therefore should know what he is doing.
The idea, I believe, is to prevent wild animals from seeing humans as a source of food, that creates it's own problems.

They can hardly expect rights if they have not got the correct documentation, which they can easily obtain in the ministry for information and they can fill out forms 11/B through to 45/N and just need it stamped by their local law enforcement agency, a witness to prove they are the animal they claim to be, 7 passport photo signed on the back (remember to use the same signature they used on their passport) and then just wait as we process your information at the ministry of digestion and then we will simply need a blood, urine and hoof print before the mandatory 6 month decision time, which can of course be prolonged for any number of reasons.
