News / Which French candidate for president will be best for Poland? [512]

Absolutely. All the computer hacking that points to Russia (and their 'asset' Assange) all those 'alt-right' stooges in America and the dodgy individuals behind them, all the ham-fisted attempts to shift the Overton Window rightward were too crassly transparent in the end.

Good that it's taken this French election to turn the corner.

Otherwise things would be very bad for Poland.

edit

It's official, Macron 65.1%, Le Pen 35.9%

'wider spread,'

Wider spread means precisely that. It isn't only about random bods and their opinions.

Just because you live in Poland and talk to Polish people there, doesn't mean you unferstand the general mood of the country better than me.

Remember that some of us here have lived in Poland longer than you have been alive. And move in circles that you wouldn't really describe as 'general public'. Poland isn't exactly like your country the UK - and even there not everything hits the media - much of the good stuff doesn't. If you want a list of people (including politicians of all main parties) who are discreet about their sexuality, you won't get one either here or there. Even in the world of entertainment or sport, someone who would be having a celebrity wedding back in the UK might well take very great care to stay out of the press here.

The most I would repeat (or anyone should repeat) are things already in the public domain - don't make the mistake of breaking a very good and useful rule in life, namely, not assuming that the people you're talking to is a stranger to the people you're talking about.

chosen by the majority of the country.

Far more of the electorate didn't vote for them than did. By the way, you may like to have a look at the latest poll figures.

read Polish fluently thank you.

The same thank you. You would perhaps enjoy keeping your finger on the political pulse here - a wider spread of reading about politicians would do you good.. Actually speaking to people in real life and spending time with people in political and public life would be even better.

You would find out that there's sooo much political talk that is enjoyed in real life before outsiders ever get an inkling.

Pretty well yes - les gracques were originally a group of enarques who were unhappy with traditional party political structures and Emmanuel set up his movement (originally a youth movement) outside them. The main parties are fuming, and let thm fume.

He comes from a good socialist background, however his business-friendly approach wouldn't work so effectively within the party or union structures/

Exit polls are showing a 62.5% win for Macron.

And she admitted it so ?

She'd be very wise to remain silent given that the prosecutors are now formally involved.

Macron received ten times as much from Rothschild

Cobblers.

As I say, have a look. It's long been known in Poland, and much reported in Polish language online media (so you'll need to put it though google translate).

Have a look at sources other than those that are likely to be written or read by Kaczynskists.

Interesting that on this thread the people hoping for an outcome that would damage Poland are ...

Pretty well. In real life it's proven beyond doubt that Le Pen has received funds from Putin, and the origins of the data theft against Emmanuel Macron's campaign are known. Whether or not Le Pen knew about the data theft before this week's debate will be doubtless be confirmed one way or the other in the forthcoming court case.

It looks like much of this is down to two individuals called William Craddock and Jack Posobiec, both connected to the so called 'alt right', with early involvement fromm Russian linked sources: liberation.fr/elections-presidentielle-legislatives-2017/2017/05/06/wikileaks-joue-clairement-un-role-dans-la-propagation-des-macronleaks_1567719

Well, WP, since you don't consider the President of Poland, the one who won the Nobel Peace Prize to be a 'credible' source, I doubt any would satisfy your hunger. As I say, read up on the matter.

Could you provide me with the more sensible sources

Research. It's out there if you look.

I must not be as good at you at finding things

Indeed.

Pudelek and Tok FM

You might look at some more sensible sources.

Oh and if there was even a possibility that this could be true

More than just a possibility...

Looks like this will be yet another failure for the right

An abject failure. Turnout so far in the election looks pretty good, and despite the very short odds there was a multimillion pound surge on bets yesterday.

Russian-financed nationalism

The scandal over this is just going to get bigger.

You are not gay because somebody said you are ga

I doubt that's the underlying reason for his sexuality. His partner was named in the media recently. And his ex.

Why would he choose to be the head of a Catholic party who have no intention of creating any pro-gay legislation any time soon?

Oh dear. If life was as simple as you seem to think it is.

Remember Jorg Haider?

And bookmakers are even more sure. I suspect those here who like to think the establishment's extremist Putinist candidate Le Pen has a chance might not like to risk money on it, despite the high return if she won: oddschecker.com/politics/european-politics/french-election/next-president

Not sure what he has to do with closeted homosexuals

You're probably one of the few people alive who's "not sure". Especially since he was outed on live TV by another politician.

million of migrants

There are millions of migrants in Europe already, just as there are in your own country. Even if Le Pen won (and she won't), it wouldn't have the slightest effect. She would however cause huge problems for Poland and Poles.

When you're a grown-up, come to Europe and see how things work day-to-day here.

I doubt there's any legal way Kaczynski, Orban etc could discriminate between a French citizen who was born in France (regardless of skin colour) and a French citizen who wasn't.

Le Pen would doubtless equally fail under the law.

Breitbart? Oh dear. Next you'll be linking to 4chan or Russia Today.

Macron would actually be great for Poland. Another foil against the Putin, Orban, Kaczynski, Erdogan axis of amorality. Le Pen however would restrict the right of Poles to live, work and invest in France.

Fortunately the people's choice, the independent Emmanuel Macron, is still riding high in the polls. Currently 63% to the extremist Le Pen's 37%.

It's isn't the Russians

It's been confirmed now.

"Vitali Kremez, director of research with New York-based cyber intelligence firm Flashpoint, told Reuters his review indicates that APT 28, a group tied to the GRU, the Russian military intelligence directorate, was behind the leak. He cited similarities with U.S. election hacks that have been previously attributed to that group.

APT28 last month registered decoy internet addresses to mimic the name of En Marche, which it likely used send tainted emails to hack into the campaign's computers, Kremez said. Those domains include onedrive-en-marche.fr and mail-en-marche.fr."

Macron is better for Poland and Europe, Le Pen for Russia.
