Work / Average monthly salary in Poland is around 1000 PLN (few hundred bucks). [387]

Today, 08:26 Report #78

It will be interesting to see how the prices go (up) once the euro is introduced in Poland.

I dont think interesting is the word, my parents spend a large proporition of year in Cyprus and they got it earlier on in the year and prices have absolutely rocketed! :(

dnz is originally from the UK so in comparison it is a lot cheaper, that's if you're earning a good wage...if not, prices keep rising and certain people get poorer and poorer.

I would say Poland (food prices) are reasonable, but it's not like you're going to get a weekly luxury shop for £10 - people seem to have this premisconception that Poland is dirty cheap and you can live on a pittence - it's simply not true.

The first time I went to the Czech republic I paid 30p for a pint of beer and £2.50 for a steak dinner (including coffee :))) - those times are well and truely gone! Exchange rates are bad in EU has expanded......

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

Its just 1410!!!!! WOW thats going a bit over the top, lol.

Battle of Hastings interests me and that was 1066 :)

sorry for taking it a bit off topic, just wanted to point out to Torny that there are no time lines where history is concerned.

UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

I would hope a bit of both, but it is true that we cannot sustained the influx of migrants from none EU countries, we have more than enough labour both professional and none professional from within the EU to cover our needs.

The NHS has changed it's recruitment policy and they were one of the largest recruiters from outside of the EU, things change and the population of the UK has changed to a degree we no longer need to source from outside of the EU.

Life / Is it me or do any guys in Poland not have shaved heads? [113]

why you came up with assumption a like high maintenance?
just a bit curious ;)

If a bloke has to fanny about with fudge or gel then it's high maintenance...My preference is men who dont have to do such things...its just a preference though...

But that doesn't make them skinheads...

I didn't for one minute think that they were, they were in fact just very cute boys with very very short hair :)))

Doggie, what does Malutka mean?

Life / I'm British in Poland and I think that it's time to go back to the UK! [240]

I think the Poles think the same as the Brits,,but trust me incompetance is all over the world, I worked for a company for 4 years and they paid my NI to the wrong number for that period, it took 6 years to get it sorted out with government offices, even though I had all my payslips to prove it!...I always check my NI number on pay slips now :) There are lots of other issues that are wrong with the UK too..no system is perfect.

Travel / Poland in photo riddles [3134]

Carp is a very tasty fish. A bit fatty, but that`s what I like.

A friend of mine has had carp each time we have been to Poland she loves it, bear in mind she's the fussyest eater on the planet, so it cant be all bad.

Where in Poland can you see such a lamp?

An aquarium :)

Whose animal is this skull?

It looks like a carnivore. but I'll come back to you on what in a little while.

History / WWII - Battle of Britain and Poles [104]

sure you did, and what brave little soldiers you poles were.

Well, I am not Pole, I can say even more, I am exact opposite of Pole!

NoImmy, Mr C is a Russian....

WWII is an interesting debate and all, but dont you think it's time to move on, 1,000,000 of lives were lost in combat and by civillians on ALL sides, I just hope that Europe never suffers losses like that ever again.

Love / My boyfriend is on a Polish dating site [158]

of course I have done that too. I have spoken to several close friends and my family about everything. The problem is that now they all hate him which makes it difficult if I decide to stay with him :)

Friends and family are usually right and it's generally best taking advice offered by those close to you.

Love / My boyfriend is on a Polish dating site [158]

Oh well, I dont think that any amount of advice offa bunch of randoms off a forum will persuade her to make any life changing choices...

At the end of the day the decision is mine and mine alone and with all due respect I am no way going to make a life changing decision based on what random online strangers say.

Can I offer you a little advice....speak to your close friends, ones who know you and know about him, it's safer that way.

Love / My boyfriend is on a Polish dating site [158]

It seems to be about what HE wants, a relationship involves two people making decisions together,

Maybe not an ex. I'm thinking "current" or even "wife".

They've been together for 3 years, would it be possible to have such a double life for so long?

Oh well, I dont think that any amount of advice offa bunch of randoms off a forum will persuade her to make any life changing choices...

know that I need to get rid of him but its so hard as he convinces me that he still loves me and doesnt want to be without me.

He needs a sh*g, a sympathtic ear and of course money....

I do wish you all the best, no woman deserves to be treated in such a way.
