Language / oko / oczy? [4]

Read about a dual form in polish language. A lot will become clearer.

UK, Ireland / Born in Poland. Obtaining British Passport? [27]

I'm sorry, what's your problem? You've offered no help at all, just some very close minded input along the way.

Too bad you have been inadequately raised.

UK, Ireland / Born in Poland. Obtaining British Passport? [27]

Seeing as the sport is pretty amateur and gets no funding, costs me like 3 grand a year at least

At your age you may not know it yet, but there are things that are important and there are also those that are more important. Even at your age you should consider which is which. Pay your dues and be a proud Brit, for God's sake. I am saying this a Pole who has nothing to do with UK at all.

UK, Ireland / Born in Poland. Obtaining British Passport? [27]

Personally I don't see a problem with you representing the UK on a non-British passport.

I do, and I am not even a Brit. The kid obviously values UK citizenship at less than 700 quid, so let him continue to be polish only. At such young age and he's already trying to cheat the system. Shame!

Life / English-speaking Health Clinic in Warsaw area? [7]

LIM medical centre

Yep, have used them and some of them will surely speak English. If I am not wrong, they are now owned by Luxmed which you could also try.

Travel / Warsaw delis (ham, chicken)? [12]

Try Hale Mirowskie, Alma, Piotr & Paweł and like Delph has just mentioned: walk around your neighborhood and see what they have. Careffour is crap meatwise, although when (albeit rarely) I visit that place, they sometimes have good fish selection.

Travel / Lublin ruined by arrival of Ryanair [33]

Rest in peace everyone :-), all those Lubliners who had wanted are already in Dublin, London or in other UK/IRL locations. This connexion will just facilitate transportation and Warsaw airport will suffer as a result (not like I care). And I doubt that Lublin will draw huge crowds from the Isles, it's just too quaint.

Language / Polish words with consecutive identical letters? [17]

śsak

it's a good example: ssak, but wrong spelling (as per above). Should be double "s". And from that comes the verb: ssać, obviously.

Also, check out the meaning of: "czcze gadanie", and "na czczo".

Food / The great British teabag hunt thread [66]

Polish/Slavic little teapot

LOL..... the method of preparation you describe is somewhat antiquated, probably the oldest people only use it in Poland nowadays. Even my 70+ yo folks do not. The best tea is made fresh, whether in a slavic or non-slavic pot (LOL). Keeping "esencja" sitting around for 2 days doesn't add to the taste of tea in the least.

Travel / I am Travelling to Warsaw in November and want to stay close to the nightlife [5]

The Victoria

It is now referred to as Sofitel..... anyway, same place.

Related: Traveling to Poland this November any advise as far as nightlife goes

I'm making plans to spend a week and a half in Poland this November, I know a salsa festival is taking place around that time, could anyone offer any kind of feedback about it, or offer valuable advise regarding nightlife in Poland. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Poland is big. You might want to be a little more specific.
